This car is absolutely awesome!
That pretty much sums it up. Awesome. From top to bottom, side to side, inside and out, and parked or running, this 1964 Malibu SS is just plain AWESOME!
This is going to be a pretty long listing, just to cover everything that was done, so you might want to grab your favorite beverage, some snacks, and get comfortable. SO MUCH STUFF went into this car, it will take a little time to cover it all.
If you are impatient, just know that it is one of the baddest, coolest, cleanest, and completely restored street machines you could ever want to own.

DESCRIPTION
I love it when I have the chance to buy a car directly from the builder. You get so much more information, details, and facts about a vehicle when you know the person handing you the keys is the guy that turned the majority of the wrenches on it.
That has never been more of true statement than on this stunning 1964 Malibu SS, and the binders full of build photos, receipts, hand written tuning and alignment instructions, documentation, manuals, and assorted extra parts that come with it is truly mind-boggling.
This was the third Chevelle that the prior owner/builder had restored, and it was decided that this car would be a complete body-off-frame nut and bolt restoration and build, with the focus on creating a pro-touring car that would handle the rigors of the Hot Rod Power Tour.

The finish on the car is still incredibly straight, smooth, clean, wet and show car ready! As a matter of fact, this car was on display at the GOODGUYS All American Nationals in Kissimmee, FL just a few weeks ago in the MIGHTY MUSCLE section of the show!
Tom Devereaix had over 500 hours into the paint and body on this car alone, and his skills as a craftsman shine brightly in this finished project.
It has about a handful or so truly minor marks and blemishes on it from being driven 5,800 odd miles, but these are things like little stone chips and hairline scratches that you probably won’t even see unless I point them out to you. I am not one of those people who call a car perfect. Never have, never will. Still have not seen the PERFECT finish! This car is pretty dang close, and it really does still show like the paint was freshly done a few months ago.
All of the bright work and trim still looks amazing, and a lot of the original parts are included and boxed up in the trunk, and some still show quite well.
Now, let’s move on to the chassis.

The chassis still shows wonderfully, and is a professional detail and light touch up away from being ready for some show mirrors.
After 5,800 odd miles of driving, the undercarriage does show some dirt, grime, and marks from road debris, but everything is absolutely solid, straight, and ready for you to pressure wash and polish!
It rolls on a set of American Racing 200s Satin finished 5-star wheels sized 17x7 up front and 17x8 in the rear. They are clean, damage and issue free, and are probably as nice as the day they were put on!
Tires are NITTO NT450’s, and they are sized 215/45ZR17 in the front, and 225/45ZR17 in the rear. All of the tires were installed at 3,000 miles, prior to the cars SECOND Hot Rod Power Tour, and they are clean, damage free, and have about 85% of the useable tread life remaining.

When you open the hood, it shows so clean and neat you can’t believe the car was driven at ALL, let alone taken on TWO Hot Rod Power Tours!!! Everything is clean, neat, and laid out to perfection. Wiring, hoses, and lines almost disappear in this engine bay, and everything is in exceptional working order as well.
I had the good fortune to spend over 500 miles of quality time in this car, taking it from Fort Myers Beach to Kissimmee, FL for the GoodGuys All American Nationals a few weeks ago with my wife. It was AWESOME!
The car performed flawlessly, returned an estimated 18mpg for the trip, never overheated, handled like a race car, and managed the highway like it was a new car. 80mph is NOTHING in this machine, and the steering, brakes, and handling all work together to inspire new-car confidence in you and your passengers. I would not hesitate to drive it ABSOLUTELY ANWHERE in the lower 48, and probably Canada and Alaska too, if I knew my way around more!
Keep in mind that this is a PROVEN and reliable build that has a history of long distance cruising. In 2006, the car completed its first HOT ROD POWER TOUR, and has the Long-Hauler Sticker to prove it, by traveling about 2400 miles round-trip from Kissimmee, FL to Englishtown, NJ and back. After a few years off, it hit the Long-Hauler trail again, driving from Cocoa Beach, FL to Detroit, MI, and then BACK to Florida a second time in 2011.
It also went to its first and only NSRA show in 2011, where it passed its SAFETY 23 Inspection, and got the sticker to prove it.
This car is an absolute dream to drive, and everyone from 16 year old daughter to your 90 year old Grandma could probably hop in and feel comfortable cruising down the freeway in it!
There are NO known mechanical, operational, functional, electrical, or operational issues that I am aware of after driving it those 500 odd miles. It is ready to roll.
Speaking of driving it, we have one last thing to cover, and that is the inside where you and your passengers will spend a lot of time while cruising, so here are some basic specifications on the interior.

The interior is so nice you will think it was just installed last week. Really. There is no sign of damage, disrepair, seam pulls, stains, odors, or issues whatsoever in the inside of the car.
Everything does what it should, and all of the gauges appear to be functioning as they should, although I have not professionally calibrated or tested them.
The car ran about 185 degrees on my road trip in it, got up to 190 in the parade of cars cruising the show grounds with the A/C running full blast, and shot up to 205 when we were stopped for 25 minutes at idle with the A/C on waiting to get into the show parking area at Old Town Kissimmee in the middle of a 93 degree afternoon. I would say that it ran pretty dang cool the whole time for me, and the prior owner / builder said that it always ran cool on his trips. The giant fan up front really does the trick, as does the oversized performance water pump. With the A/C off, I am sure it never would have gone over 195.
It doesn’t leak, weep, or mark its territory.
It doesn’t idle funny, stutter, sputter, stall, or do anything strange.
Turn the key, start it up, and drive the daylights out of it.
This is a ridiculously clean Chevelle Malibu SS, and is about as well documented a build as you can ever hope to find. It comes with a bunch of boxes of original take off, spare, and NOS parts that you see in the photos. I am NOT going to sit and break down all the stuff in the boxes. Consider it a bonus gift when you buy the car.
It comes with a photo book filled with about 150 chronologically ordered photos of the cars restoration from start to finish.
It comes with a book chock full of receipts, service notes, and part/maintenance numbers.
It comes with another practically stuffed with a manual or instructions for every single thing on or in the car.
