This Electric Porsche 914 has been completely dissembled, soda-blasted down to metal, then epoxy primer coated, prepped, painted, and lovingly reassembled with all new parts. All new upholstery and carpet, door panels, door and targa top rubber seals, as well as all bumper rubber and body fixture seals. Many improvements have been added, including power windows, HID headlights, 3rd brake light, pneumatic hood springs, electric washer pump, electric rear hood latch, blade-style fuse panel, and many more listed below.

This Porsche 914 was purchased from an eBay seller in Walnut Creek, CA in 2011, and was not running. It had only minimal surface rust and some acid damage around the hell-hole, but was straight and accident free. After the full restoration, it was fitted with an HPEVS AC-50 electric motor, a Curtis 1238-7601 650 Amp controller, 36 CALB 180AH prismatic Lithium Iron Phosphate cells, an Orion BMS (battery management system), and a Samsung 7" Galaxy tablet for EV gauge display. It has run like a champ for a year, and currently has 12,000 miles on the odometer (zeroed after the restore). It performs very much like the stock car, with snappy acceleration and impressive power in the midrange. Top speed is somewhere over 95 mph, and range is a solid 60 miles, or 70 miles if driven conservatively.

This car has been featured in BBC Autos Online, and had a cameo in Fox's remake of Cosmos, as a stand-in for Carl Sagan's famous Porsche 914 with the license plate "PHOBOS."
