1968 Barracuda fastback 340 formula S surviver The big news in 1968 for the Barracuda was a new selection of engines. The Formula S car came from the factory with the 275 HP 340 4 Barrell power plant! Now for all of you big block fans the 340 Cuda had a faster 0 to 60 time as well as the quarter mile!! The 340 had it all performance updated suspension it was the all around road car. According to the trim tag this car came with 340cid 4-bbl HP V8 727 three speed auto trans e70x14 red side wall steel belted 3.23 rear axel Deluxe trim grade green vinyl bucket seats Avacodo green metalic paint The 340 was produced in LA and the car was assembled in Hamtramck, Michigan This car has spent most of its life in California. The current owner has had the car for over 9 years hoping to give it some attention. He has relized with all of his obligations this is not going to happen. This Cuda is a numbers matching car including the carb, dist, rear end, hp exhaust manifolds and X heads! The cuda has had one repaint in its life and still ratains all of the original body panels. I looked all over and this formula is vertually rust free! Nice floor pans, trunk pan quarters, fenders. The only area that will need some attention is the driver side rear quarter at the bottom. It will need a small patch. The mileage is believed to be original. The 340 was just started after many years and runs strong, the transmission shifts smooth.
