It is a #127 CA production. The VIN plate int he door is a VW one, added tin order to register as a VW. The stamped number you read off of the frame is also a VW number, again for registration purposes. The builder/owner used a donor VW for doe of the parts and that is the number pf the donor car. That takes this “grey area” VIN and makes it less grey. The carb access doors in the rear deck lid (also called RS doors) are something that was added later.That is a $2500 item alone IF they are functional (when done at the factory) which they are.550 VIN plate on the rear firewall is an exact reproduction tag, sold by Fibersteel in CA. Seats are of the 550 style and better than the seats that were available with the kit at that time.The decals all look pretty period correct and foot the theme of the car well.4 bolt chrome wheels and brakes, which is non original (5x205mm is original to the Spyder) but the 4 bolt stuff is VERY common for these cars. The hubcaps hide the bolt pattern, and only a true Porsche-phile will notice the wheels have 8 slots (VW) instead of 10 slots (Porsche).Nice wood wheel with Porsche horn button.
