1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop Coupe
Classic Styling, High Performance, Modern Comfort ... Sounds like a Winning
Combination to me!
This iconic 1956 Classic Chevy Coupe is a balance between the simple styling of the 1955
and the more flamboyant styling of the 1957 Bel Air.
Compared to other models built during the same period, she is lighter and more
attractive.
Considered a convertible with a fixed top, the very appealing Hardtop Bel Air is sought
after by collectors and car enthusiasts worldwide due to its style and rarity.
This year model Bel Air easily out-styles her competition with her full-width grille
extending to include her side lights, an artistically designed chrome front bumper, and
attractively hooded headlights.
Tastefully restrained tailfins, boldly curved front and rear fenders, a cleverly hidden
gas cap behind the left taillight, noticeably large rectangular parking lights, classic
Bel Air script, and sweeping side trim that follows a color spear, which carries forward
to the headlight and mimics the roof and trunk color completes the Elegantly Distinct
Style of the '56 Bel Air.

The Bel Air's small-block V-8 made them lighter with a Splendid Power-to-Weight ratio.

Performance, 327c.i. "Turbo-Fire" 300+ hp engine (used in 60's "Fuelie" Corvettes) mated
to a Three-speed Automatic transmission. She has an independent front suspension
with a 2" drop spindle and a live rear axle.
All of this provides this Classic Chevy with increased top-end speed and improved
handling and braking.

Double hump 327 ci High Performance "Turbo-Fire" 300+ hp engine
The "lure" of the double-hump heads has been their performance potential and nostalgia.
"Double-hump" heads were found on many of GM's high-performance engines in the 1960s and
early 1970s. They were manufactured with larger intake and exhaust port volumes and
valves for the period, and engines equipped with them had output ratings of more than
300 horsepower.
Double-hump heads were popular performance upgrades for engines that were not equipped
with them and are in high demand today in racing applications where factory heads are
required. These castings are also becoming more difficult to find for collector and
car enthusiasts.
Rear-axle Ratios
The rear-axle ratio in this 1956 Chevy is the 2.92:1.
With her rear-axle configured to a 327 V-8 and a 3-Speed Transmission you get great
highway cruising speed at low rpm's which equals pretty impressive fuel efficiency.
This Bel Air was built for Cruising!
Exhaust:
Her dual exhaust originates from Stainless Steel chrome mid-length headers located on
the side of her cylinder heads.
The mid-length design offers more ground clearance over full length headers.
