First Owner When the first owner(s) obtains a title from a Department of Motor Vehicles as proof of ownership. Manufacturer Recall Automobile manufacturers issue recall notices to inform owners of car defects that have come to the manufacturer's attention. Recalls also suggest improvements that can be made to improve the safety of a particular vehicle. Most manufacturer recalls can be repaired at no cost to you. Ownership History CARFAX defines an owner as an individual or business that possesses and uses a vehicle. Not all title transactions represent changes in ownership. To provide estimated number of owners, CARFAX proprietary technology analyzes all the events in a vehicle history. Estimated ownership is available for vehicles manufactured after 1991 and titled solely in the US including Puerto Rico. We have had a lot of inquiries as to why we run Private Auctions. So let us explain, We have had a lot of emails from people complaining that they were getting emails from other sellers trying to sell them their vehicles off of our auctions, which is considered a form of harassment. Such actions are very hard to control so we inquired from eBay how to handle it. They advised us to run private auctions that would stop the harassment and interference. In a private auction all the bidders names are hidden and not visible to the bogus seller that does not wish to spend their money to sell their item.
