1967 Pontiac Le Mans model information : The already venerable 326 cubic inch V8 was low cost upgrade, and many of the Le Mans cars were equipped this way. A traditional driveline with transmission behind the engine meant that the cars were easy to service and less expensive to build, and this also meant that even more powerful engines could be shoe-horned into the engine bay. In fact, for 1964 and 1965, the renowned and powerful GTO was merely an option in the Le Mans series, even while LeMans was merely a trimline in the Tempest. Many of these cars have been “cloned ” to GTO status over the years, but this does not take anything away from the fact that they are collectible either way. Weighing in @ 3,250 lbs in the convertible and a production of just 9,920 convertibles this year. A show stopper to be sure !!!....
