Up for sale is a 1978 Mercedes Benz 450SL convertible with hard top.

*please note this car runs well and will drive BUT it needs the front radiator support replaced. The car was in a Collision that damaged everything above the bumper. The frame was not damaged and I did not replace any bumper parts. I replaced the finders, hood, radiator, electric fan, and started to replace the radiator support. I had a replacement but somebody I used to call a friend needed it and said he would replace it… He never did and now the car is up for grabs. I also installed a new water pump, fuel filter, and fuel pump. I have the regular radiator fan and the air conditioning condenser. They are included in the sale but not installed.

The car has the electric fan installed so it can drive a bit until the car heats up then the fan automatically turns on. I have left the car running parked for a bit with the electric fan on but I only left it on for 5 or 10 minutes checking the car out.

This is a California car and it is perfect for someone who wants to start with a good solid car for restoration or parts. Small bubbles of rust by the rear right tail light. Rear trunk has cracking paint and the whole car needs a good paint job. The AC is disconnected and does not work. It is currently registered as a California non op vehicle so no back fees will be due if you are a California buyer. The car is being sold as is and I will not be responsible for smog. If you are a California buyer you will need to acknowledge that in writing. The car was well cared for before the accident.  The transmission and torque converter were replaced 24500 miles ago. I have a stack of other receipts as well.
