This 1957 Chevy Bel Air is the recent recipient of a complete frame off, rotisserie restoration. Every screw, nut and bolt has been handled, and this car is new from front to rear. Using a tried and true driveline and a state-of-the-art hotrod suspension, this Chevrolet is a drivable show car with all the creature comforts to boot. The detail work that was put into the body and is incredible. The last owner is a lifelong paint and body man and the time he put into getting the body laser straight is staggering. From front to rear on the Bel Air, the gaps are dead on and no matter what angle you view this body, it is laser straight. The paint is sanded as flat as glass and it doesn't stop there. Just a brief look at the undercarriage and the detail work continues on. The entire frame has been body worked and the paint has been wet sanded and buffed out on both the floor pans and the frame giving them a mirror finish. Countless hours were spent refinishing the original trim, and all of the chrome is brand new high quality stuff. All of the glass is new as well complete with factory tint. The all-leather interior features custom coverings throughout including the seats, door panels, rear package tray, headliner and leather trimmed carpeting. Even the firewall on this car is done in leather! The dash has been upgraded with a Classic Instruments cluster and the climate controls have been updated to work with the ice cold Vintage Air set up. Don't miss the "vintage looking" modern stereo and the custom speaker pods in the kick panels. Pop the trunk and you will find the same level of detail available on the interior. The power plant in this awesome 1957 is GM's ZZ4 350. This motor has become one of the most popular crate engines since GM Performance Parts was started and it's no mystery as to why. The ZZ4 350 crate engine is packed with a forged steel crankshaft, hypereutectic pistons, hydraulic roller camshaft and lifters, and aluminum cylinder heads. The ZZ4's Corvette-derived high-performance heads feature high-velocity intake runners and D-shaped exhaust ports to promote efficient and unobstructed flow through the engine — providing strong power and torque at all RPM levels.
The transmission is a 700-R4 with a shift kit that performs as well on the streets as it does out on the open highway. In terms of flexibility, this transmission makes it happen no matter where it goes. Out back you have the bulletproof Ford 9" rear end complete with 3.73 limited slip gears. The killer suspension on this 1957 is comprised of a Jim Meyer front sub-frame and Jim Meyer rear 4- link. The front end uses a 1-inch narrower track-width and features 1-inch OD by .156-inch wall tubular A-arms utilizing a 2" dropped spindle, 12 Wilwood rotors, rack-and-pinion power steering, and heavy-duty aluminum double adjustable coilover shocks with powder-coated springs. The hot new front end is steered by a brand new Ididit column. The fully adjustable rear end is all urethane-bushed, and features four 1-inch by .156-inch wall seamless-tube links, two aluminum/adjustable coilover shocks, a three position lower shock-mount for adjustable ride height, and Panhard bar. This kit is custom fit to a beefy Ford 9" housing. For the Chevy enthusiast looking for a show winner and usable hotrod all-in-one, this Chevy is a slam dunk.
