PRICED TO SELL QUICKLY AS A BUY IT NOW...THE NICEST VW CONVERTIBLE FOR THE $$$ ON EBAY!!!
THE TRIPLE WHITE COLOR SCHEME ON THIS BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED BEETLE SURELY MAKES IT ONE OF THE BEST IN THE U.S.
BACKGROUND...Owned by the same family for the past 25 years, this 1979 Beetle Convertible became a cherished member of the family. Originally given to the owner's daughter on her 16th birthday, the car was always maintained well...but over the past few years, it was decided to honor the car's long service to the family with a top-to-bottom restoration. Be sure to check out ALL the following in the images at right.
- Excellent and gleaming white paint finish...very high quality workmanship
- New and/or show-quality restoration of chrome and brightwork
- Exquisitely restored engine/engine compartment (less than 1000 miles)
- Beautiful white upholstery and top (with glass rear window)
- Very high quality undercarriage restoration and finish...show quality
LOCATION:
The car is located in Peachtree City, Ga...approximately 30 miles southwest of Atlanta.
DRIVE REPORT...the car runs and drives as impressively as it looks. Body integrity is very good...providing for a more solid-feeling and secure ride than you would ever expect in a 35 year-old car. With less than 1000 miles since restoration, the engine is very smooth and strong - and is an absolute gem to look at in the engine bay.
Photography was done on a very hot day...it was difficult to tell if the ventilation Fan and Air controls were operational...we did note that the "Air" knobs were loose. There is also a small switch next to the "Air" controls which we believe once controlled an under-dash lamp.
Otherwise, everything we could think of testing worked well...though it is always possible that some detail may have been inadvertently missed.
PLEASE
NOTE: To show the very high restored quality of this classic VW, there are
well over 100 images. The first 17
images are intended to give an overall view of the extraordinary quality and
attention to detail that was lavished on the car. The rest of the images are intended for
serious prospective buyers
and show more detail than any other eBay automotive
listings we have seen. BUT, to see ALL of the images, you MUST place your
cursor on an image - allow plenty of time for all images to download - and then
scroll slowly ALL the way to the bottom.
CAUTION: if you use
the scroller to the FAR RIGHT of your screen or the "Click to view image
album" feature...you will NOT see all the images.
2,436
TRANSACTIONS WITH HAPPY PEOPLE! As of the date of this listing, we've
had 2,436 transactions (both buying and selling) on eBay without a single
complaint. One of the keys to our selling success is the use of LARGER and MORE
images than you will likely see in ANY other eBay listing...so you can CLEARLY
see what you are getting.
QUESTIONS?
Please call Jim Murphy at 706-429-7924 if you have any questions that this
description or the pictures at right do not answer for you.
KNOW HOW CELEBRITIES FEEL...when you cruise the boulevards in this irresistably sharp classic VW. It gets "thumbs up" and approving smiles everywhere it goes. And, the best convertible weather of the year has yet to come this fall...what more beautiful and fun way to see all of nature's colors change than in this iconic convertible?
INVESTMENT POTENTIAL: The VW Beetle's history is secure...in a 1999 poll, the Beetle was voted as one of the top four most influential cars of the 20th century! Introduced in 1938, it was continually improved upon for 65 years until production finally ceased in 2003.
It would be extremely difficult if not
impossible to commission a restoration of this quality and specification for
a VW Beetle Convertible for less than $40-$50K.
HIGH AUTHENTICITY...it was felt that the restoration should be largely authentic, but some sporting cosmetic changes were made as you will note with a new shifter, steering wheel, and chromed set of window cranks. However, the original shifter and window crank handles were kept - are shown at right - and will go with the car.
AUDIO...an updated AM-FM-CD audio unit was neatly installed, with clever and unobtrusive installation of the stereo speakers into the well behind the rear seat.
EXTRAS...provided with the car include several owner's and service manuals, a car cover & storage bag, and a car cover cable-lock...all shown at right.

ABOUT ME: I am an avid car enthusiast. After retiring from
30 years of sales and marketing in a Global 100 company, I formed Murphy
Endeavors, LLC and began buying and selling classic cars as a collector and for
friends and clients. This truly fabulous Beetle Convertible is owned by a friend and fellow collector.

France, Australia, Russia,
Canada, Japan, and throughout the United States.
IMPORTANT FINAL REMARKS & CONDITIONS OF SALE...the Buyer will receive a Notarized
Bill of Sale and current original owner's registration document (Note: Georgia does not require titles for pre-1985 vehicles...the current registration document serves as the ownership document).
For
most practical purposes, much of this car was made new via its meticulous restoration. Though every practical effort has been made to renew the
car
it remains a 35 year-old vehicle with 35 year-old technology. Continual maintenance and restoration has
made this one of the very best examples to be found...but continued maintenance
is to be expected. As owners of classic cars well know...even the best
restored cars will need repair from time to time...and often without notice. Therefore,
the sale is strictly on an as-is and final basis with no warranty or liability
expressed or implied.
Pre-purchase
examination of the car (if desired) is welcomed before (not after) the
auction's closing and can be easily arranged by appointment.
