The Porsche Cayman debuted at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show and was an instant success.  The roots of that sucess were twofold: 1) a stylistic heritage which can be easily seen; and 2) incomparable performance.

In terms of style, the Cayman incorporated cues from a broad selection of Porsche designs, e.g., 917 headlights, 550 Spyder hips, 914 front fenders, 356 steering wheel, Boxter taillights, etc. and etc., and combined them into a startlingly attractive automobile.  In terms of performance, the Cayman has shown to be at least equal to its larger brother -  the 911.  For example, racing legend Walter Rohrl piloted a Cayman S around the Nurburgring in 8 minutes, 20 seconds - 5 seconds slower than a 911 Carerra.  Based on this speed and but for the displacement and tuning restrictions placed on the Cayman by Porsche, the Cayman is (probably) superior to the 911.  Thus, utilizing the base Boxter design, Porsche reincarnated its two seater coupe (last seen in the 1976 Porsche 914) and made a car that is, in some ways, superior to every other car currently in the Porsche pantheon.

This particular car is powered by a 2.9 litre engine capable of producing 265 hp.  Importantly, this engine deleted the troublesome Intermediate Shaft (IMS) which troubled many prior Porsche owners.  The engine is mated to a 7 speed PDK transmission which enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 in 5.1 seconds.  This time is actually greater than the 5.2 0-60 produced with a manual transmission and, while I personally prefer a manual, I must admit that a PDK equipped car is superior to a manual (if only by 1/10th of a second). 

The speed and power of the Cayman are easily controlled by exceptionally tight steering and suspension systems which have received unending praise from the automobile press.  The ride in the car is quite comfortable at low speeds with a noise suppressed cabin and comfortable seats.  The ride at higher speeds is pure sports car with great cornering ability and firm grip.  

Designated as the 987, the Cayman shares roughly 40 percent of its components with the Boxter. With a different nose, headlamps, hips and a solid roof, however, the Cayman is fundamentally more than a hard top Boxter.  Rather, it is a car that stands on its own 4 wheels and agressively competes with the best Porsche has to offer.  . 

The car presented here is a stately seal gray with a matched black leather interior.  The paint is virtually flawless, as is the interior.  The headlights show no blemishes, the windshield does not have any defects, the rear brake lights and all other lights are as new.  The only defect on the exterior of the car is a slight scrape on the car's nose.  This scrape cannot be seen in the photographs of the car and does not become visible until one is approximately 2 feet from the car (and looking for it).  The car's 19" rims are also as new and the tires have 15,000 miles on them.  The car's interior shows as new.  The seats are heated and cooled making the car comfortable to drive in any weather.  The dash and center console are in pristine condition.  All gauges, knows, switches, do-hickeys and whatnots work as new.  The steering wheel (which is a stylistic update to a 1960's era 356 wheel), is wrapped in soft black leather which remains soft and supple to the touch. 

Best of all, this car still has its remaining 4 year / 50,000 mile manufacturer's warranty.  The warranty began on the in-service date (May 31, 2011).  Thus, the buyer of this car will be protect from mechanical defects for another 35,000 miles or until May 30, 2015.  You should verify these dates and miles with your local Porsche dealership and consult the manufacturer for full details on the warranty.

We do NOT sell salvage vehicles or vehicles with reconditioned titles.

All vehicles are sold "AS IS" and there are no representations or warranties except those contained in the written sales contract or bill of sale.

The winning bidder must contact us within 24 hours by phone to start the transaction.

The winning bidder must respond within 2 days after the auction with a $500 deposit required via wire transfer, Visa/MC, or certified funds(cashier's check) to start the transaction.

It is understood that the vehicle is sold on an "As Is" basis. 

Buyer are free to purchase with or without an inspection.  

We strongly encourage pre-purchase inspections.  These inspections are relatively cheap and help ensure  that the Buyer is completely satisfied with their purchase.

All sales are subject to a state inspection fee of $40.75 and a Vehicle Inventory Tax based at .2271% of the purchase price. Ex. $10,000.00 X .2271% = 22.71.

Texas residents must pay applicable sales tax and a registration fee.

Out-of-state customers may pay tax and register the vehicle in their own applicable state. Upon request, we may be able to complete the buyer's home state registration.

The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. We will arrange for shipping, if requested. Also, transportation to and from the airport and our location is buyer's responsibility.

We make every attempt to deliver our vehicles to our clients with two keys, key fobs, manuals, booklets, NAV CDs, wheel locks, tool kits, etc..., however, from time-to-time, a vehicle may be missing one or more of these items and we cannot guarantee that they will be included in the vehicle at the time of sale. Please call for the exact accessories included for the vehicle.

Our vehicles are pre-owned vehicles and they are sold in "As Is" condition. At time, some of our vehicles may still be in factory warranty or an extended warranty may be purchased. Ask for details.

For Canadian car buyers: If the title is to be released at the time of delivery (which is much mandatory to move the vehicle through customs), a wire transfer is the fastest  way to complete the sale.  If the payment is not by bank wire transfer, i.e., certified bank check or approved loan check, the title will only be released when all funds have cleared. Please keep in mind that the funds verification process can take up to 15 days. We will assist you with the documentation needed to clear Canadian customs, but knowing exactly which documents are required by your home province are the buyers responsibility.
