This could very well be the Brougham you have been looking for. This exceptional example is a 1992 edition, the last year of production for Cadillac’s spectacular Broughams. This body style ran for 13 years and the 1990-92 Eurostyle editions are considered by most collectors to be the best of the best. 1992, being the final year, had by far the lowest production of the run with a scant 13,761 made. Factor in attrition, and cash for clunkers legislation, and the number of survivors has dropped considerably over the past 24 years. Loaded 1992 models such as the car featured here have become quite rare. Driven only 68,900 miles from new, this particular car has been maintained in concours condition having always been stored in a climate controlled garage. I have owned the car for three years using it only for show and special occasions having bought it from another collector. This is the best driving, comfortable, and most reliable collector car I have ever owned. I would not hesitate to drive the car any distance.
This particular car has always been a Southern car and has obviously led a charmed life. The color is Sapphire Blue Metallic Firemist and features the optional, and highly desirable, 5.7 liter V8 with throttle-body fuel injection. This is the Chevrolet 350 with four speed automatic, and 3.08:1 rear axle ratio. Very few of the Broughams were purchased with the 5.7 motor due to a government mandated gas guzzler tax of $1350.00. The engine still delivered an advertised 15mpg city and 22mpg hwy and was a far superior alternative to the standard 5.0. The 5.7, when paired with the upgraded interior known as the ”d’elegance package”, makes for one rare and collectible automobile. This example is one of the finest around. Know the pleasure of driving a "REAL" automobile.
The Brougham of course features power everything and includes the standard premium AM/FM stereo with tape deck. Everything on the car is in fully functional with the exception of the exterior opera lights as is a common issue with these cars.
Drivetrain: In my three years of ownership the only item I have had to replace is the water pump which was approximately 400 miles ago. I believe the fuel pump was replaced just before my purchase. The car performs flawlessly, has good pick-up, and has never let me down. Every feature in the car works as it should and the climate control air conditioning blows very cold. Cruise control works as it should, wipers and spray, level ride, everything is turn-key ready on this car. The engine compartment is detailed for show and is extraordinarily clean and fresh looking, the block shows no paint loss to speak of.
Chassis: The Hankook Optimo whitewall tires were installed just prior to my purchase and now have approximately 6000 miles on them. When I purchased the car I had the brakes inspected and they were found to be in nearly new condition at that time. I assume they were overhauled at the same time the tires were purchased. The wire wheel-covers are in really excellent condition with exception of the right rear showing one linear inch of light curb rash. The underside of the car was rustproofed from new and has been maintained. The car is 100% rust free.
Interior: The interior is in nearly new condition. There is only the very slightest amount of wear on the side of the drivers sear along the edge facing the door. The interior is in a remarkable state of preservation with no cuts or tears. The leather is still very supple and the back seat looks never to have been sat in. This car exhibits none of the leather shrinkage that is typically seen along the tops of the pillowed seats. The dash and door panels are flawless. The headliner was replaced by the original owner and I never would have realized this had I not been told. Apparently the carpet was replaced at the same time and is still fresh and like new. The trunk is original, as is the mat, all in excellent condition.
Body and trim: I believe the paint is all original with the exception of the front fiberglass valance which was professionally painted for show. Paint has been clay barred, polished, and waxed, finish is silky smooth like glass, as it should be. There is a very minor ripple just to the left of the trunk lock where it looks like something fell against the car, you have to catch it in the right light to see it. There are two minor little door dings in the left rear door, the rest of the body is virtually perfect. The plastic fillers around the tail lights are supple and perfect. The top is clearly in excellent condition with good color and the stitching is 95% intact which is rare. This Brougham is fully detailed for show, right down to the door jambs and chassis. The car is ready to drive onto the show field and has recently placed first among some formidable competition, in one case against four other similar Broughams. I searched quite a while to find a 90-92 Brougham d’Elegance with the 5.7 in this condition and color and it has been nothing but a joy to drive and own.
Have no doubt that this Cadillac is truly a show car.
I am a private collector, not a dealer. The car is located in Atlanta, GA 30307 My preferred method of payment is wire transfer or cashiers check. I work from home so am glad to coordinate with your shipper, or, I can deliver to the Atlanta airport and you can drive the car home. Thank you.
