Our Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II was driven locally by a business man in Chicago for several years. It was stored during the winter months and used sparingly during the summer season. Eventually stored for good, the dust got knocked off in 2013 when it went in for refurbishing. Some service was completed in addition to paintwork before the project came to a halt due to financial hardship. The car is being auctioned off to cover some cost of work and storage and is being offered at NO RESERVE!!

Elegantly finished in both Georgian Silver and Masons Black, this '78 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow is simply stunning. Having recently been painted, this rust free Rolls is 85% complete and needs a little more polishing to be complete. The chrome is in nice condition and needs a little polishing too, along with a few bits of trim here and there. The underside of this Shadow is in good shape but some of the lines did suffer while in storage for the last 10 years, although they have been recently addressed. Otherwise, floors and chassis are good and solid. The aluminum doors, trunk lid, and hood are also in very nice shape. Inward, the Crimson leather interior is plush, clearly having been well taken care of. The interior does have some needs as the front and rear dash pads are sun bleached and require recovering. The finish on the wood trim throughout is flaking and the carpet will need updating too. The well optioned interior does include the rear footrests, climate control, and an AM/FM Stereo with 8 track. All the gauges work and are clear and easy to read too.

The Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II is powered by the venerable 6.75 liter V8 that is backed by a Turbo 350, automatic transmission. Noted to be a powerful and long lasting drive train, some Shadow II's are known for traveling up to 400,000 miles without needing a rebuild! This combination can also hustle the 4,600 pound Rolls to 60 mph in under 11 seconds!! The engine in our car runs well and has had a new fuel pump installed and some lines to help feed it. There is a leak noted at the steering rack that would need to be addressed as well as an exhaust leak. The rear suspension does sit a bit low, hinting at needing new rear springs too. The tires do not match but are all in relatively decent shape and the brakes stop the car well, but are not recent.

Overall this car needs to have mechanical work in addition to some cosmetics to get back on the road. The car does run and drive but we don't recommend driving the car home until it has a proper inspection and service. The car is being offered at NO RESERVE and will sell to the highest bidder.
