Launched at the Paris Auto Show in 1975, the Esprit was an enormous leap forward for the small British sports car firm. The Esprit was an all glassfibre body sitting over a steel backbone chassis and driven by an all new 2 litre twin cam 4-cylinder engine. Giorgetto Giugiaro from Pininfarina fame was asked to design the new flagship sports car and was given rave reviews on the stunning new shape. The car was given even higher praise when James Bond got behind the wheel for the latest bond flick The Spy Who Loved Me. The car sold incredibly well and was said by magazines to be one of the best handling sports cars ever. For 1988 the car received its first major face lift making it more modern. The next major change came for 1996 when the Esprit received its first ever twin turbocharged V8 engine. The new V8 was a 3.5 litre that produced 350hp with a 0-60mph time of 4.4 and still retaining one of the best skid pads in the sports car biz. The Esprit continued on until 2004 which was its final model year. From 1975 to 2004 only 10,675 were ever produced making the Esprit one of the rarest supercars offered.

European Motor Studio is proud to offer this exceptional 2001 Lotus Esprit V8 Twin Turbo Coupe’ finished in a stunning and rare shade of Inferno Red over Magnolia Connolly leather hides with Red piping. This Esprit V8 left the Hethel production line in January 2001 and is one of the extremely few finished in the color combination. The car has been a CA car most of its life and has traveled a mere 48,150 miles from new and has been exceptionally well maintained by the dealership or factory trained technicians. The gorgeous Inferno Red paint still has a stunning deep luster to it and shows beautifully. There are no scratches dents or dings and only a few tiny stone chips in the front nose of the car. All of the fiberglass still looks excellent and does not show any cracking anywhere on the body of the car. All of the glass is in excellent shape and clear and free from any cracks or chips. The lower bumper skirt does not have any damage other than a small scrape. The tires have about 65%-70% tread life left and the HRE Sport wheels are still in excellent condition. The interior of the car is in outstanding unmarked condition. The leather is still extremely soft and supple and shows extremely minimal wear. All of the piping is still in great shape and free from any damage or fade. The carpets are in excellent shape with very minor wear and the leather dashboard and center console are also in excellent shape without any peeling or shrinkage. The car starts right up and idles very smoothly and is smoke free. The car accelerates through all of the gears effortlessly and smoothly without any hesitation or slipping. The clutch is very strong and all of the synchros in the transmission feel excellent. The brakes give a very positive response and show no signs of fade or squeaking. The suspension is very smooth and tight free from any noises or play and the steering feels exceptional. The car still handles like it left the showroom floor. All of the mechanicals and electrical systems are operating and functioning as designed. The windows, door locks, power headlights, radio/cd and all the dash lights and exterior lights are all functioning as designed. The car comes with its original spare, tool kit, key and remote, owners handbook, dealer service book and warranty book. There are two tops for the car, the solid roof and the glass roof which can be stored in its vinyl case in the trunk.
