Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a dealer will post all but the most flattering of professionally finished photographs. We prefer to post the many photos taken of the car, in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.

West Coast Classics are proud to present an exceptionally straight and rust free and restored as necessary over the years great daily driving survivor example of this very rare and original looking original southern California 1959 Chevrolet Apache Series (cousin/equivalent to 100 Series GMC Truck) 3/4 ton 'Fleetside' Long Bed Pick Up Truck with an 8' long chrome and wood bed and a rebuilt 235 'Thriftmaster' straight 6 cylinder engine which is very powerful for this truck and its original 3 speed column shift, '3 on the tree', shifting transmission and with the optional full view 'wrap around' rear window Deluxe 'Custom' Cab for the ultimate in driving visibility and with upgraded foam cushion seat comfort and with bright metal control knobs and window moldings, sunshades and a cigarette lighter! The truck is a beautiful example of an original southern California truck with its original California year of manufacture yellow 1950's California license plates and which was sold new at 'Pioneer Chevrolet' in Taft, California and which is a beautiful restoration with no signs of any rust either obviously now or ever!

This truck is a true survivor and ready to show or simply to be used as a super striking daily driver or promotional truck! The truck had recently come out of a climate controlled garage/storage from its long time Palm Springs, California collector owner and has four fairly new 'white wall' tires on the original stock wheels which are still in great condition and please note that the truck has been upgraded to a 12 volt system. The truck will also be sold with a thick file of service records!

The 'Turquoise' color paint is in exceptional condition as is the restored interior! This great daily driving 1959 Chevrolet Apache 'Fleetside' Long Bed Pick Up with a Deluxe cab is a perfect addition for the classic Chevy truck collector's garage or simply a great turn key ready daily driver for any classic truck enthusiast. There is no signs of any history of any rust or accidents on this original southern California truck which has a razor straight body and please note that the wooden bed has also been completely restored.

The 1/2 ton Chevrolet pick up was renamed the 3100 in the 1940's and they were outselling the Ford's with a 33.8% market share in 1949 compared to Ford's 21.6%. But Chevy couldn't afford to be complacent and by 1950 there were several welcome improvements such as double acting all around shock absorbers and a circuit-braking lighting system. The second series of the renown 'Task Force' series ran from 1955-59 with the dashing 'Fleetside' models boasting the ultimate in pick up truck smooth lined appearances! The Thriftmaster six offered slightly more power due to a Rochester power jet down draft carburetor, larger valves and a straight through muffler. In the year 1955 the Thriftmaster engine was increased to 235 c.i. (3851cc) with an increase in both bore and stroke and this particular truck boasts such an engine with its desirable increased power. In 1958 they were renamed the 'Apache Series' until 1961 when they became known as the Full size C Series for Chevrolet and the 1000 Series for GMC. This particular truck's engine runs strong and sounds absolutely magnificent and the truck drives really well - must be driven to be appreciated - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver!

This is a very rare opportunity to own a great daily driving example of this very desirable original southern California 1959 Chevrolet Apache Deluxe Cab 'Fleetside' Long Bed Pick Up which recently came out of a long time Palm Springs, California owners fastidious collection and which is in very fine daily driving condition ready for any classic American truck, collector or enthusiast to simply enjoy or collect today!
