Vehicle Description

This van is truly a classic and unlike most vehicles, The Vanagon Westfalia only keep going up in value! This Westy only has 149k miles! It is equipped with the 4speed manual transmission and original waterboxer engine. It has a large file of service records kept by previous owners. The lady that sold us the Vanagon had it for the last 12 years and she had acquired it from her father who purchased it in 1992.. This was a very well loved and well maintained camper. It has been stored in a garage for the last few years hence the low miles and extremely clean body and interior. Her kids all grew up and were out of the house so she was not using the Westy. She finally decided it was time to pull it out of storage and sell it. Westys need to explore and have adventures. This one is waiting for hacis new owner to take him out to see the country!

This van looks great inside and out. There are only minor cosmetic blemishes. It is exceptionally clean for a 1986. The pop top canvas is original, clean and free of mold. Any rips have been patched. The paint and body are really nice. There is no rust on the body. The rear bumper has a bit of damage but it is still fully functional. (We can upgrade you to the Go Westy heavy duty bumpers - ask a representative for more details)

All of the camper equipment works as it should and has been tested by our RV expert. It comes with heavy duty extension cord and hose so you are ready for full hookup campsites.

This Westy has an extra seat which can be removed and can face forward or backward. It is a rare extra that allows you to take an additional passenger or you can use it to get into the poptop easier.

Our VW tech has inspected and thoroughly serviced this vehicle. Our service included a fresh oil change, new air filter new ball joints (upper and lower), new front brake pads and rotors, and NEW tires. We are happy to provide you with our inspection report and service receipt upon request. It is ready for your camping trip or cross country adventure.

We have access to any of the Go Westy and other Vanagon parts suppliers so we are happy to source you parts and accessories. Our service department only works on Volkswagen so we are happy to perform any upgrades that the new owner would like including suspension upgrades, larger wheels and tires, top replacement, etc.

Buying a Car Sight Unseen Out of State??

Many people have reservations about purchase a used car when they cannot physically inspect or test drive the car. This is totally understandable. However, a car is sold on ebay motors every 12 minutes so it is definitely becoming a more common way to purchase vehicles. Since we sell VW tdi diesels that are rare and hard to find, we routinely sell cars to out of state clients so we have become very good at facilitating these sales.

Here is a brief overview of the out of state buying process:

1) Select the vehicle you are interested in off of our website or Ebay.

2) Review all photos closely. There should be at least 30 and as many as 60 photos of each of our vehicles. If you want to see photos of an angle or feature or even underneath the car, call or email us and we would be happy to accommodate your request.

3) Watch the video of the vehicle. We are working on taking videos of all of our cars so if you do not see a video on our website or in the Ebay listing, then please call or email us and we will make a video just for you.

4) Review the Carfax. We have a copy of the Carfax for every car on our website. Just go to www.vwtdis.com , click on current inventory and then click on the car fax button next to each car. Write down any questions you may have on the Carfax and feel free to email or call us.

5) Request a pre-purchase inspection. This must be done prior to the end of any auction. Our service department has performed a pre-purchase inspection on every car and we can email you a copy of this report along with any service records that we may have.

6) Arrange an independent inspection (optional) - If you want even more peace of mind, we can help you arrange an independent 3rd party inspection at our local dealership or with a mobile service like Lemon Busters. Once again, this must be done before the end of the auction. You would just call us to arrange this.

7) Apply for Financing (optional) - If you need financing, you would want to apply via our secured credit application BEFORE the end of the auction. You will want to make sure that you qualify to purchase the vehicle you’re interested in before becoming the high bidder. You can access our secured credit application here:

7) Payment - Once you have purchased the vehicle, you would send a $500 deposit via Paypal. We will then fed ex you all of your paperwork including title applications and finance contracts with a return fed ex envelope. You would sign your documents and return them with a cashier’s check or loan check. Alternatively, you can do a bank wire which speeds up the process.

8) Shipping - once we receive your signed documents and the balance due on your vehicle, we will arrange the shipping of your vehicle through a licensed and insured transport truck service. You are more than welcome to arrange your own shipping, but we do it for clients at wholesale and can usually save you hundreds of dollars in shipping costs. To get an idea for what auto transport costs, look at the information below:

Shipping from WA state to:
        -California - $400-$500
       -Texas - $700-$800
        -NY/east - $900-$1000
        -FL is - $1100-$1200.

9) Title work and transfer - We will supply 6 days worth of temporary tags which you will activate the day you receive your car. Our title clerk will fed-ex your state's licensing application, the vehicle title, etc to the nearest DMV to your residence. You will then go to the licensing office to finish registering your vehicle.

10) Follow up - We will call you to make sure you received your vehicle with no issues and that you are 100% satisfied. We will then be available via phone or email in case you have any technical questions. We also offer a lifetime discount on parts and accessories to our Ebay buyers through our e-commerce and Ebay stores.

Disclaimer: ATTN: WA state residents - if you are the winning bidder of this vehicle, we will also collect sales tax and licensing fees from you on top of the final sales price. We will process your title work and give you a 45 day temp permit until your new plates arrive in the mail. NON WA state residents - we do not collect sales tax from non WA state residents.
