  • Description

1992 Buick Roadmaster Limited / Excellent Condition / 47k original miles / single family owned since new / loaded

You are viewing a gorgeous 1992 Buick Roadmaster Limited with a beautiful bright white finish and gray/blue interior.  I purchased it from the widow of the original owner, who bought it new from Fiore Buick in Altoona, PA in 1992.  It has 46,867 ORIGINAL miles and has been pampered since new.  (I enjoy driving on weekends, so the mileage will be slightly higher by the end of the auction).  Everything about the car, right down to the stitching in seats, is in beautiful shape.  I have the original owner's manuals and the original window sticker. This beautiful car has many options available in 1992, such as:  vanity mirrors, cruise control, intermittent wipers, power antenna/locks/seats/mirrors, reclining driver & passenger seats (both are power and also have 3 way lumbar), automatic locks, heated driver’s mirror, spoked wire wheel discs, rear defrost, automatic climate control, AM/FM stereo with cassette, remote trunk release, thick-padded plush velour interior (and super soft).  Overall the car is in excellent condition.  The title is clear and has no liens.  The title also documents the original mileage.  This is an extremely comfortable car, and the first year for the reintroduced Roadmaster…with the tried-and-true, reliable, powerful, yet economical 5.7 liter factory Chevy engine and heavy duty 700R4 4 speed automatic with overdrive.  The car runs and drives beautifully and I’m sure it would go across country effortlessly.

    Exterior:

The paint appears to be mostly original - it is a beautiful Arctic white, with contrasting hand-painted pin stripes on the sides.  The paint reflects the fact it was garage kept most of its life.  The chrome and the stainless steel also shine well.  The wire wheel discs are in excellent shape; however there is some “curb rash” on the right front hubcap.  You probably cannot tell from the pictures, but there are a couple very small indentations on the top of the drivers side front fender (perhaps from a mechanic leaning his elbows on the fender panel?) as well as one on the passenger side rear door; however I did not even notice these until after I bought it….they just are not that noticeable!  Also, the driver’s side pinstripes are beginning to fade in certain areas, which you can probably tell from the pictures.  Nonetheless, the exterior is beautiful and is obvious of the care it has received.  The only flaws on the exterior are trivial – nothing worthy of mention.  There is no rust anywhere on the body, under the doors, or under the trunklid.  The undercarriage is extremely solid and appears to have only minor “surface scale” in places here and there – no rust-through anywhere.  I highly doubt the car ever saw salt or snow.

    Interior:

The interior is stunning, including some of the most comfortable seats I ever had – very soft, rich, and thickly padded gray velour, which feel, look, and smell brand new.….and there are NO air fresheners needed in this car!  It was obviously NEVER smoked in.  Cigarette lighters were never used.  There are no rips, stains or holes anywhere.  Same with the dash pad, carpets, headliner, and sun visors.  Even the factory floor mats are in great shape. The wood grain dash is beautiful and has no cracks.  Arm rests are like new….no cracks, etc.  The stitching in the seats is also like brand new.  The power equipment goodies all work (even the power antenna!), and the A/C is probably the coldest A/C I ever had in a car….that is no exaggeration.  Included with the car is a dash cover, which was custom made for this car (not shown in the pictures).

    Mechanical:

The motor purrs like a kitten and is extremely smooth.  As mentioned earlier, the engine is the 5.7 (350) fuel injected V-8 engine which is both economical and reliable.  The transmission shifts smooth and kicks down like it should.  The car appears to have been regularly serviced and pampered.  The car does not leak any fluids anywhere to my knowledge.  The tires are older but still passed inspection.  The tailpipe is brand new, along with the distributor cap.  The car passed the rigorous PA safety (and emissions) inspection last month and is valid through May 2015.  The car tracks straight, steering is tight, and brakes are silk smooth. This baby runs beautifully and is ready for show and drive!  The oil was recently changed, and the hoses, belts, and filters were checked and replaced as needed.  The car should not need anything.  Even the side electroluminescent opera lamps still work, as well as the power antenna, which is rare to find working on the GM products from the 80’s and 90’s!

    Overall:

If you are looking for a great example of the last generation Roadmaster, this one’s for you.  The car is very pretty and stands out.  This car is so nice, that most people selling on eBay might say the car is “perfect” or “flawless”.  The average person may describe it as such-- but for a car collector, there’s never anything 100% perfect unless it was restored.  As such, this car was never restored and has almost 47,000 miles and may have some trivial flaws.  I have sold numerous cars on eBay and in all situations I had positive feedback.  I attempt to describe each vehicle as accurately and honestly as possible and I do not think you will be disappointed.  As with anything, if you desire to bid on the vehicle, I would encourage you to see it physically and drive it for yourself before you bid.   I would not be afraid to drive this car across the country.  It runs and drives excellent and will make a very nice classic for you.   If you get the winning bid and are not completely satisfied upon your physical inspection, you can walk away from the vehicle, less $150 of your deposit (to pay for the cost of having to relist on eBay).

First of all, let me say I am NOT a registered dealer.  I am a private individual who enjoys collecting, buying, and selling old cars as a hobby.  I may sell a few of my own cars in a year's time, and I also list vehicles for other individuals needing help selling on eBay.  I have excellent feedback with the numerous cars I have sold and am committed to honesty and integrity.  No monkey business.
