Vehicle Description
 Extremely Rare 2002 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible Last of Line
 
 
This is a very rare car indeed, one of the last of the hand made Corniche Convertibles, to commemorate the end of the production.  The Rolls-Royce production at Crewe lasted from 1946 thru 2002, a total of 56 years.  56 cars were planned of the models made by Rolls-Royce as of 2002, including Silver Seraph, Park Ward and Corniche Convertible.  A mere twenty-four were made of the Corniche, the top of the line, as listed in a specially prepared commemorative brochure listing the final cars by serial number and colors, including type of wood utilized.  Of the twenty-four Corniche, a mere six worldwide were designated Last of Line and this is one of those six cars.  It is a left hand drive car.
 
The Final 56 as they were called had a number of special features.  Some of the cars had special wood trim inlaid with a "Spirit of Ecstasy" motif on the wood cap rails.  There was also a special commemorative badge on the center console.  Instead of the traditional black RR logo, it was instead done in red, a nod to the beginning of Rolls-Royce motorcars.  There were also special Ecstasy motifs on the hub caps.  Other touches of chrome such as mirrors were added.
 
This particular car is the only one of the six finished in black exterior paint and soft top with tan leather and black piping.  RR hand stitched logos were used on the headrests and this particular car was given the magnificent Amboyna burl wood, said to be some fifteen times more expensive than regular burl and usually found only in small pieces.  Instead the car is literally bathed in this exotic wood.
 
This car has been kept for what it is, a rare piece of automotive art, end of one of the most important car makers of all time.  As such it has traveled a mere 12,800 miles documented since new.  The condition is impeccable.  It has been a part of a large collection of important Rolls-Royce, serviced and detailed regularly.  Nothing is needed.  A copy of some original brochures accompany the car as does an original commemorative brochure and a very special flying lady memento supplied with the car originally.  The flying lady sits upon a base of wood matching the car and the bottom is done in matching leather to the interior of the car.  The car is also otherwise very complete with all books, tools and jacking equipment.
