Own a classic! Not too many of these around in this great condition. 1984 Cadillac Seville Elegante in silver over sable black. 2nd owner car always garaged. This car is in beautiful condition inside and out. Awesome paint and trim, no door dings or scratches. Never driven in snow or hot weather. Smooth driving car. I have all of the original dealer paperwork including the window sticker. This is my Sunday driving car and we are selling it to make room for a family friendly vehicle. Smoke free vehicle. Car was originally purchased from Martin Cadillac in Los Angeles, CA and moved to Portland,OR in 2005. I only drove this car about 1,000 miles per year for the past 9 years.
This has always been my dream car and it has been babied since I have owned it. It has gone from the garage to the golf course and back. Never used as a commuter. I never parked next to other cars. The trim and body condition are exceptionally clean and devoid of excess pit marks or door dings. Fairly new Toyo tires as shown in photo. Some leather wear on the driver's seat, but all other areas are really clean. The trunk and hood don't stay up by themselves without a support. Stereo works but it's iffy. It was beautifully re-painted in 2005. Here is a copy of the original ebay auction description from the people I purchased the car from. EBAY:1984 Cadillac Seville Gorgeous first Offering - Luxury 1984 Cadillac Seville. First time on the market! All original, car owned by my mother-in-law, Bird. She ordered every option that existed on this top of the line Seville in 1984 and it was garaged and maintained to the inth degree as you can see. Look at the options on the original window sticker: the car sold for $26,172 in 1984, the year with all the truly luxury options, $895 Bose AM/FM Cassette sound system, knock your socks off, 4 wheel disk brakes, super, 6-way passenger seat, pure luxury. Buttons and Leather abound. Five years ago, Bird moved to Leisure World, Laguna Woods, CA and at her age she decided to get a smaller car. I couldn't stand to let the dealer have it, so since it was so gorgeous and with a known history and low mileage, I decided to keep it myself as a third car for us, and as an investment. I continued to garage the car until recently, because I am purchasing a new car that needs that garage spot. We know what we have here in this car, and have decided to post the listing on ebay motors to offer this very one-of-a-kind 1984 Elegante to the public Two years ago I drove the Seville from Marina del Rey, CA, to Phoenix and was starting to wonder, when after driving 290 miles, the gas gauge was showing little movement. When I stopped for gas, I was flabbergasted when the tank only took 10 gallons of gas. On the freeway, I had gotten 29 miles per gallon. Indeed the car computer on the dash had been displaying "30" throughout most of the trip, and I was wondering why. Pretty amazing for the size and structure of this truly beautiful car, pretty much like it rolled off the assembly line in 1984. I have loved and personally maintained the car, replaced the headliner 5 years ago, replaced the master cylinder and flushed out the brake lines last year, replaced the automatic trunk pull-down and also have a spare, and I replaced the ECM with one I bought directly from Cadillac, I figured that the least I could do is give her a new brain. With 92,000 miles, it is just starting to reach Cadillac adulthood. A month ago, I was driving the car to give it some exercise (which I religiously do every Sunday, Stopped for traffic, went to continue, hit the gas and it refused to move, engine ran perfectly, but the wheels did not go around. Through a great friend I got the name of a trustly transmission shop, had the car flatbedded over, and he installed a replacement transmission, one that works better than the original one. G & V Transmissions owner said we have an amazing great car here - appearance and driveability. I have driven the newly installed transmission a hundred miles, putting it through its paces and things are better than ever. Engine runs like new, emission tests always pass with flying colors, currently have CA tags until May. Bird's daughter even gave it a test drive this morning and it drove so solidly (and she IS a car connoiseur) that she is hesitant to put it up for auction but we need the garage space for the new car. Julie is ebay handle BIDINMDR - check out her 100% feedback rating. This vehicle can be driven anywhere with great pride. As Julie says, it would be appropriate for arriving at the Academy Awards show and stepping out onto the red carpet. A real Classic. This Seville paint is checked on the top surfaces primarily because the car never has never had any paint or body work, it is original. Amazing what happens when you garage a car for its life and live in Southern CA, leather is incredibly good, no one every abused the car (because as Julie says, Bird would not have allowed it!). It was always proactively maintained. Engine is HT 4100 V-8 digital fuel injection. Transmission is the automatic with 4 speeds, shifts smoothly, 3,000 miles on tires, and the paint is weather checked, which shows no signs of repaint, repair because my Mother-In-Law is a great driver and, exactly like my wife, requires her vehicle to look and work perfect. The interior of the car is almost like new with no cracks in the dashboard, (amazing) or the door panels, it is like being in your living room, or better. Battery is Auto Zone 7 year battery, with 11 interior lights and 5 vehicle adapter locations. (When we acquired it, we were amazed at FIVE (count-em 5!) sets of burled wood ligher/ashtrays. That is one for each passenger! No joke! And this was a no smoking car! All doors and power windows are working well, Remember that this car is 20 year old, and has cracks on the filler (rubber trim) between the trunk and the bumper, but I will put this car against any '84 Cadillac Seville - anywhere (because nobody could have babied a car more than Bird did!) Look closely at the orinal window sticker - and also notice the congratulatory letter written to Bird's husband (as he purchased it for a gift for her) and the GOLD KEYS that came along with it, hence the Goldkey letterhead. The car was purchased at Martin Cadillac here is W.LA, the same dealership where I purchased the ECM. Standard and optional features include:

Sunday Drive: An automotive flavor for every taste
Sun, Feb 25 2018Last week was flush with interesting new vehicle debuts, led by the new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. This crossover is entering straight into the heart of one of the world's most competitive automotive segments, and it's doing so with a fresh sense of style and a brace of new technologies. Our readers are clearly intrigued – the Santa Fe was the biggest news story of the last week on these online pages. It's fitting that a crossover generated a lot more interest than a traditional wagon, though we don't really have to be happy about it. Still, the completely new, fully redesigned Volvo V60 is worth taking another look at. First of all, it's pretty, in a traditionally Scandinavian way. Second, it's quick, with a 0-60 time of as little as 4.8 seconds. And finally, it's practical, with all kinds of room for cargo without the dynamic penalties of an unnecessary lift kit. Moving on from new vehicle debuts, we took another long look at the Honda Ridgeline. It's definitely a non-conformist pickup truck, based not on a body-on-frame platform but on a more carlike unibody design. That means it can't tow as much as some other trucks, but it also means the Ridgeline drives better than any of its more truckish competitors. It's the Swiss army knife of pickup trucks. Rounding out our coverage from last week are three sets of spy photos, each showing the interior of a hotly anticipated new model. One is a truck, one is a crossover, and the last is a sportscar. All of them are worth another look. As always, stay tuned to Autoblog this week for all the most important news in the automotive world. 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe unveiled 2019 Volvo V60 | Sleek, swift new twist on the Swedish wagon 2018 Honda Ridgeline | Pocketknife pickup is up for anything 2019 GMC Sierra interior looks just like the Silverado's 2019 Cadillac XT4 interior has actual buttons, no more touch-sensitive panel 2020 Porsche 911 992 spy shots show interior and manual transmission Cadillac GMC Honda Hyundai Porsche Volvo Truck Crossover Wagon Luxury Performance Sedan hyundai santa fe
Car subscription services: A slow, expensive start — but the potential is huge
Wed, Dec 26 2018Americans are used to paying for subscriptions — to magazines and cable television, for instance — but experience shows they'll cancel when the price of admission gets too high, or there are more tempting alternatives. Cord cutters ditched nearly 1.5 million pay-TV subscriptions in 2017, according to a survey by Leichtman Research Group. Cable TV started out cheap with basic offerings, and then got expensive. The auto industry's subscription offerings are new, but they're starting out costly, and not price-competitive with traditional leasing. The upside is that they take the hassle out of car ownership for busy people by letting the service take care of maintenance, insurance, licensing and taxes. And they give consumers choice, often allowing relatively painless switches between different cars in the automakers' lineup. Subscription services also point the way toward an ownership-free auto experience, and offer an easy transition to a potential world where ride- and car-sharing will be dominant. Subscriptions are here to stay, but consumers may take a while to "get" them. Lincoln's subscription service for lightly used 2015 to 2017 models, offered through the Ford-owned Canvas beginning this year, got off to a slow start. Many early subscribers canceled. Last month, Cadillac announced it would " temporarily pause" its $1,800-per-month Book subscription service for "adjustments" as of December 1. According to the Wall Street Journal, "Snags with the back-end technology used to support the service made some customer-service functions tedious and time-consuming, adding costs for the company." The challenge for automakers is to come up with a strategy that offers consumers a compelling, affordable option to regular ownership, and one that can also make a profit. I think they'll find that sweet spot, but they're not there yet. Jack Nerad, former executive editorial director at Kelley Blue Book and author of " The Complete Idiot's Guide to Buying or Leasing a Car," points out that "A lot of people expected that subscriptions would be very valuable for people who wanted inexpensive transportation, but the reality is quite the opposite. Subscriptions are offering more choices for the wealthy.
Cadillac CTS-V, ATS-V special editions celebrate IMSA titles
Mon, Dec 4 2017This was Cadillac's first year of competition for its DPi-V.R. Daytona Prototype race car in the IMSA Endurance Championship, and it brought home both the manufacturer title and driver title. To celebrate the occasion, Cadillac has created special editions of its fastest road cars, the CTS-V and ATS-V, and their defining features are stickers. Yes, the most unique part of these special Cadillacs is a decal package. But it is an attractive one, with white, gray, silver and red accents inspired by the race car. They're complemented by either a black or white paint job and red side mirrors. The rear quarter windows also get little stickers of the race car's silhouette. Though the stickers are the defining trait of these special-edition cars, they aren't the only features. The CTS-V and ATS-V each come bundled with an array of other features such as a sunroof, the carbon fiber exterior accent package, and a red and black interior that features red-accented carbon fiber trim and Recaro seats. Available as additional options are an eight-speed automatic for the ATS-V, a performance data recorder and a suede steering wheel and shift knob. The other neat tidbit is that, if those extra features are must-haves, the IMSA edition ATS-V is the way to go. The $72,190 price for the sedan is almost $2,000 less than an equivalent standard ATS-V sedan. The regular ATS-V sedan also isn't available with the red and black interior. The special-edition ATS-V coupe starts at $74,390, which is a little over $1,000 more than an equivalent normal ATS-V coupe. Unfortunately for CTS-V buyers, the IMSA edition model, at $105,730, is pricier than optioning up a regular CTS-V. So in that case, you'll have to decide whether the decals and exclusivity are worth it.
