Welcome bidders to this auction for an all original 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham with the scarce V92 Towing Package. It has just 74,797 miles on the odometer as this listing starts. It is a beautiful car and it runs fantastic (we just drove 350 miles in it this past Monday). This has the LT1 engine and it is extremely fast; it is BY FAR THE MOST comfortable riding car I've ever owned.

I have had a lot of work done on the car since I purchased it. At the end of description I will list all the updates/repairs. The car window motors work great, but especially on driver side the sling that holds the window is isn't working. You can't roll it down without help to roll it up! Some not-so-great mechanic messed up my door lock toggle switch on the door while trying to see what's wrong with the window. The air conditioner works great, but the fan is loud. There is a tiny hole under the hood on the passenger side that has to be cleared out when the air runs alot, otherwise water will drip down on the passenger side rug. There is hail damage on the hood and a few spots of rust as seen in the pics. The passenger side rear back panel has a dent. Some of the weather stripping over the doors is loose or missing and the trim on the passenger side front door is secure but looks like it could stand to be tightened.

This is a great road trip car. It's my daily driver when I have somewhere to actually go. For sure, I wouldn't hesitate to jump in this car and drive it across the country.

This car has the Code V92 towing package is which is very hard-to-find and was available in 1994 only. According to specs, this package enables the car to tow up to 4,500 pounds. There is wiring for a trailer inside the huge, huge trunk. We have never towed anything and there is no hitch, so I doubt anyone has ever used it for towing. What other towing vehicle could you purchase that would be so comfortable and affordable and yet tow your jet ski trailer?

Here is the list of improvements done at Smail Cadillac in Greensburg, PA; we have the receipts and the buyer will get them.
- Replaced the water pump.
- Replaced both fan/engine belts and replaced belt tensioner.
- Replaced air conditioner compressor (which necessitated taking the front suspension apart),
evacuated the system and charged the new compressor.

- Replaced the fuel pressure regulator.

Also, the car has a newer battery and the front brake rotors were recently replaced with the most expensive rotors available at the NAPA store.

The seats are in good condition. It has a new key entry fob plus an old one. It has a great radio and plays cassette tapes. It has console storage and cup holders in front and back. There are great lighted mirrors, a sunglasses holder as well as other posh things. It has factory rims and a full-size spare. It doesn't smell like smoke. It does not overheat. The Traction Control and ABS lights come on sometimes randomly. I don't know if that means those features are active or inactive.

The emissions inspection is valid until Sept 2014, but it's due for a basic inspection this month. I know of no reason why it would not pass.

We put over $2,000 into the car. I love it, but it is very fast and large. I am in need of a smaller, less speedy car!  We have the title in hand and are ready to sell!

Please, please ask any and all questions before bidding!

It would be best if you could come pick the car up in person, because you can certainly drive it home! If you want it shipped, please make the arrangements yourself --at your expense J -- and we will help you any way we can with that process.

Saturn Vue ignition switch leads to new group of GM recalls totaling 312k

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

General Motors has another spate of recalls to announce. This time they cover 312,280 vehicles worldwide, including 269,041 of in the US, in a total of six campaigns. In 2014, the automaker has recalled 29,079,765 vehicles worldwide, with 25,754,356 of those in the US.
The largest among them covers 215,243 units of the Saturn Vue from 2002-2004 model years worldwide, 202,115 in the US. It's possible for the for the key to be removed even when the ignition isn't in the OFF position. The company knows of two crashes and one injury caused by this problem. Dealers are checking the parts and replacing the ignition cylinder and key set, if necessary.
Next is 72,826 models worldwide (48,059 vehicles in the US) of the 2013 Cadillac ATS four-door sedan, 2013 Buick Encore and 2013 Chevy Trax in Canada. It's possible that the for lap belt pretensioner to retract but not to lock, which could increase occupant movement during a crash. Both front, outboard lap belt pretensioners are being replaced, and a stop-sale is in effect on unsold models until the problem is repaired. There are no known crashes or injuries, though.

Cadillac introducing V2V communications on 2017 CTS sedans

Thu, Mar 9 2017

While Audi has introduced vehicle-to-infrastructure technology in select cars in select cities, Cadillac is focusing on vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications, and it all starts with the CTS sedan. Starting this month, the company will be adding V2V equipment to 2017 models. The feature will be standard on cars in the US and Canada. These V2V devices will allow these new Cadillacs to communicate with each other up to 980 feet away. The cars will be able to transmit and receive information on speed, direction, and location. An example of how this data can be used is in detecting a car coming up a side street that could pose a possible collision risk. The cars will also be able to transmit data about brake use, hazard lights, and low traction situations for advance warning of hazards. The warnings can be displayed on the instrument panel and heads-up display. Currently, the system only communicates with other CTS sedans equipped with the technology. According to Chris Bonelli at Cadillac part of the reason is that the CTS will be the only car with the equipment on US roads at the moment, but it also isn't currently set to communicate with other cars if they were to be offered right away. However, he said that the company is absolutely willing to work with other companies to make the system compatible if or when other cars are offered with the technology. This V2V system also doesn't send data to any sort of network, instead only communicating with nearby cars. For the time being, this precludes the possibility of receiving road condition information from cars that are farther away. But as Cadillac points out, it should work under any conditions with no delay since it isn't dependent on information from a network. As far as security is concerned, Bonelli told us that the Cadillac system does have firewalls and other security measures to keep it protected from interference. He also said the cars don't store any data they receive. In addition, none of the data could be used to identify a particular person. The cars use a radio frequency set aside by the government for this use. The introduction of this technology also puts Cadillac well ahead of proposed legislation by the Department of Transportation. The organization wants this type of short-range V2V communications equipment to be a standard feature by 2023, believing the technology could prevent many injuries and deaths due to crashes. GM earnings rise 1% as buyers pay more for popular pickups

Thu, Aug 1 2019

DETROIT — General Motors said Thursday that higher prices for popular pickup trucks and SUVs helped overcome slowing global sales and profit rose by 1% in the second quarter. The Detroit automaker said it made $2.42 billion, or $1.66 per share, from April through June. Adjusting for restructuring costs, GM made $1.64 per share, blowing by analyst estimates of $1.44. Quarterly revenue fell 2% to $36.06 billion, but still beat estimates. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $35.97 billion. Global sales fell 6% to 1.94 million vehicles led by declines in North America and Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. The company says sales in China were weak, and it expects that to continue through the year. In the United States, customers paid an average of $41,461 for a GM vehicle during the quarter, an increase of 2.2%, as buyers went for loaded-out pickups and SUVs, according to the Edmunds.com auto pricing site. The U.S. is GM's most profitable market. Chief Financial Officer Dhivya Suryadevara said she expects the strong pricing to continue, especially as GM rolls out a diesel pickup and new heavy-duty trucks in the second half of the year. "We think the fundamentals do remain strong, especially in the truck market," she said, adding that strength in the overall economy and aging trucks now on the road should help keep the trend going. Light trucks accounted for 83.1% of GM's sales in the quarter, and pickup truck sales rose 8.5% as GM transitioned to new models of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, according to Edmunds, which provides content to The Associated Press. As usual, GM made most of its money in North America, reporting $3 billion in pretax earnings. International operations including China broke even, while the company spent $300 million on its GM Cruise automated vehicle unit. Its financial arm made $500 million in pretax income. Suryadevara said GM saw $700 million in savings during the quarter from restructuring actions announced late last year that included cutting about 8,000 white-collar workers through layoffs, buyouts and early retirements. The company also announced plans to close five North American factories, shedding another 6,000 jobs. About 3,000 factory workers in the U.S. whose jobs were eliminated at four plants will be placed at other factories, but they could have to relocate. GM expects the restructuring to generate $2 billion to $2.5 billion in annual cost savings by the end of this year.
