1993 custom old school Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham for sale. Good solid car that was my daily driver for quite a few years. Would make a good first car, parts car, or show car with a lot of work. Was kept in mechanically sound conditioned by myself and professional mechanics ever since I bought her. All filters and fluids (including transmission and differential) changed at specified mileage. Engine and trans were rebuilt at 80,000 miles and still run strong. As previously stated it was my daily driver so it is NOT showroom condition and does have some issues.

The good:

· Vogue Tyres new as of approximately 25,000 miles ago on 100 spoke chrome rims
· E&G classics grille with flying lady, trunk mount continental kit, and trunk belts and buckles
· Strong engine and transmission. Rides great
· Brakes are good, replaced approximately 15,000 miles ago
· Recently replaced ignition switch, full tune up with distributor cap and plugs, K&N air filter, new belt, ball joints and recent wheel alignment
· Old school air shocks with adjustable height in the rear. Valve stem located behind license by gas filler cap (original automatic Cadillac level ride has been disconnected)
· All power windows work
· Radio works

Known Issues:

· Fuel gauge is inaccurate and will fluctuate, always tracked the mileage and kept it topped off
· Odometer will occasionally go "crazy" and flash different mileages. This is a known issue with this year's digital odometer. It is intermittent and will fix itself for awhile before doing it again. Speedometer and trip odometer are always accurate and unaffected.
· Both the driver and passenger seats heat and lumbar do not work. All position settings are functional.
· Small spots of surface rust and sun burn in the paint. Spots of rust on the chrome rims. Honestly not that bad for a 21 year old car that's seen numerous Chicago winters.
· Exhaust leak coming from the right exhaust manifold. Has been fixed before with high heat sealant. All pipes and mufflers (duals) after the manifolds were replaced a year ago including chrome tips.
· Air conditioning does not work
· Drivers side rear door does not open. Locking mechanism was broken from the inside by previous owners.
· Large rip in leather in rear seat
· Traction control is disabled due to faulty sensors

Obviously there is absolutely no warranty implied with this vehicle and will be sold as is. I have tried to give the most honest description I can so please feel free to contact me with any further questions. Any honest offers around the selling price will be considered but please don't low ball me. The grille alone is worth around $300 in the used condition it's in. I am NOT willing to part it out either. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. I will meet you close to my house for the sale, I will NOT bring the car to you but will assist in any shipping that may need to be worked out. I work a lot of hours and overnights so I may not be able to respond right away but I will respond. Thanks for looking.

Cadillac XT5 platform to underpin three-row crossover

Wed, Mar 16 2016

Cadillac just launched the XT5 crossover to replace the SRX. But that's only the start. Speaking with Automotive News, Caddy president Johan de Nysschen confirmed that a new three-row crossover is also on the way. The seven-seater is based on a stretched version of the flexible platform underpinning the XT5, which we just drove recently. Taking that approach will give the luxury brand a larger crossover to pit against the likes of the Infiniti QX60, Audi Q7, and Volvo XC90 without having to develop one from scratch. It will also give buyers a more car-like alternative to the larger, truck-based Escalade. "It's one of the benefits of having this very flexible architecture. We can expand it, make it longer and wider. That gives us the ability to develop the car very quickly, as opposed to starting from scratch," de Nysschen told AN. "It's not running yet. It is a program request that we initiated with the engineers only last year. They are working at remarkable, record-breaking speed to get us the car." The new model would likely be called the XT7 and offer similar levels of equipment to the existing, smaller XT5. The existing mid-size model packs a 3.6-liter V6 mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and comes in four trim levels. Related Video:

SRX-replacing Cadillac XT5 spied for the very first time

Thu, 30 Oct 2014

Cadillac has got big plans in place to revitalize its lineup, with new sedans, coupes and crossovers. And it all starts with this, the replacement for the SRX.
Expected to be called XT5 in line with the brand's new naming scheme, the crossover will be based on a scalable new platform called C1XX - or Chi, for short. In its shorter form, Chi is anticipated to underpin the XT5 as well as a new Chevy crossover and the next-gen GMC Acadia. In long-wheelbase form, the platform is slated to give us a larger Cadillac crossover as well as a new Buick Enclave and Chevy Traverse.
Power in the XT5 will be provided by a choice of turbo four or atmospheric six, potentially to be transmitted through GM's new nine-speed automatic.

Don Draper's 1965 Cadillac Coupe de Ville up for auction

Mon, Aug 3 2015

Few have ever nor ever will embody the sheer confidence and style of Don Draper, the main character on the hit AMC drama Mad Men. But if you can't quite match his style, at least you can drive his car. Now that the series has now concluded its eight-year run, the studio behind it is selling off a whole mess of artifacts from the show through ScreenBid, a specialist Hollywood memorabilia auctioneer. There's a good 1,300 lots up for grabs, from props to costumes. But the lot that's caught our attention is this 1965 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. Don picked this car up in the fifth season and drove it until the penultimate episode. These are the wheels he (spoiler alert!) drove across the country, got repaired in Oklahoma, and ultimately gave to a kid working at the motel before making his way by bus to the Bonneville Salt Flats in the final episode. At the time of writing, bidding had reached $25,000 with four days still to go. Cadillac first used the de Ville as a trim level on the Series 62 before spinning it off into its own model line. 1965 was the first year of the third-generation de Ville, stretching a massive 224 inches (over 18 and a half feet!) long. Powering over 4,600 pounds of personal American luxury was an equally massive 7.0-liter V8 that drove 340 horsepower through a three-speed automatic transmission. The name wasn't retired until 2005 when the final DeVille (as it was styled by then) was replaced by the DTS, which itself was shorthand for DeVille Touring Sedan. Cadillac produced the last DTS in 2011, finally putting to rest a name that had, in one form or another, been used since 1949. Few cars had the kind of presence that the third-gen Coupe de Ville did, though, and Draper knew it. Or at least the show's producers did.
