Farmington, Michigan, United States

This is an absolutely stunning 1990 Cadillac Brougham finished in its original and very desirable Academy Gray with the much preferred 5.7 V8 .  This is a one owner car and it currently has only 39,288 miles. The car truly looks as if it rolled off the show room floor and into my garage; it even has the original window sticker. The paint and chrome are absolutely gorgeous and the body is straight as an arrow with no rust anywhere! This Cadillac retains its 100% pristine original interior and floor mats with only small blemish on driver’s door panel (as seen in the photos).   Being the flagship Cadillac it is fully loaded and absolutely everything works as it should from the automatic climate control, the Ice cold A/C to the power windows and antenna! The pictures speak for themselves and accurately depict the condition of the vehicle! I also have a set of pristine Cadillac Brougham standard wheel covers if you prefer that look. I reserve the right to end the auction early. Buyer pays all shipping costs (I can help arrange if necessary). The car is available to view locally. A $500 deposit is required within 2 days of the auction ending, full payment upon pickup.    photo Pass_frnt_3_4_3.jpg photo DR_rear_3_4-1.jpg photo DR_rear_3_4_2.jpg photo DR_side-1.jpg photo DR_frnt_3_4-1.jpg photo DR_frnt_3_4_2-1.jpg photo DR_rear_3_4_2-1.jpg photo Pass_side-2.jpg photo Pass_frnt_3_4_2-1.jpg photo Pass_rear_3_4-1.jpg photo Pass_frnt_3_4-1.jpg photo Detail_frnt_PASS_side_2.jpg photo Detail_frnt_DR_side_2-1.jpg photo rear_2.jpg photo Detail_frnt_PASS_3-1.jpg photo frnt_2.jpg photo Detail_frnt_DR_2-1.jpg photo Detail_hood.jpg photo Detail_chrome_4.jpg photo Detail_chrome_2.jpg photo Detail_chrome.jpg photo Detail_trunk.jpg photo Detail_chrome_3.jpg photo Detail_roof.jpg photo Detail_roof_2.jpg photo Detail_roof_3.jpg photo Detail_roof_4.jpg photo Detail_mirror_2.jpg photo Detail_mirror.jpg photo IMG_2826.jpg photo IMG_2827.jpg photo int_IP.jpg photo Int_IP_2.jpg photo int_IP_3.jpg photo int_detail_odo.jpg photo Door_dr.jpg photo Door_DR_detail.jpg photo Door_dr_rear.jpg photo Door_DR_rear_detail.jpg photo Door_pass.jpg photo Door_pass_detail.jpg photo Door_pass_rear.jpg photo Door_pass_rear_detail.jpg photo int_seat_frnt_dr.jpg photo int_seat_frnt_pass.jpg photo int_seat_rear_4.jpg photo int_seat_rear_3.jpg photo int_seat_rear.jpg photo int_seat_rear_2.jpg photo int_detail_2.jpg photo int_detail.jpg photo int_head_1.jpg photo int_head_2.jpg photo detail_door_jamb.jpg photo engine_2.jpg photo engine_3-1.jpg photo engine.jpg photo engine_insulation.jpg photo engine_4.jpg photo engine_under_hood.jpg photo Door_DR_detail_2-1.jpg photo Door_DR_rear_detail_2.jpg photo Door_pass_detail_2-1.jpg photo Door_pass_rear_detail_2-1.jpg photo trunk.jpg photo trunk_2.jpg photo trunk_3.jpg photo wheel_4.jpg photo wheel_3.jpg photo wheel_1.jpg photo wheel_2.jpg photo underside_rear.jpg photo underside_front.jpg photo glamor.jpg photo glamor_2-1.jpg

de Nysschen pushes to separate Cadillac, GM

Wed, Aug 12 2015

Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen continues his push to separate his brand from General Motors. After controversially picking up shop and moving to New York's trendy SoHo neighborhood, de Nysschen has now gone on record as saying that within two years, the brand will enjoy "a far higher degree of autonomy and self sufficiency." That autonomy will include the brand reporting its own financial results, independent of GM. But what would such a move do for Cadillac? Well, as de Nysschen explained it to Automotive News, "Cadillac at this state makes a very sizeable contribution to the overall profit at General Motors." If that's truly the case, separating financial announcements serves to emphasize the prosperous character de Nysschen seems so keen on attaching to his brand. But that's only one phase of Cadillac's push to distance itself from GM. De Nysschen is eager to revamp the company's dealership model so that it stands out from other GM brands, calling it a "very profound focus." Those moves, according to AN, including a change to the current dealer incentive model with a particular emphasis on building the brand rather than nailing sales figures. "If you aren't strengthening the brand perception, you should have less reward," de Nysschen told AN. While his goals seem clear, de Nysschen's statements have left us wondering whether they're also somewhat counterintuitive. Emphasizing Caddy's prosperity to potential consumers while incentivizing dealers to move less metal seems more like a tactical move rather than a strategic one. And there's no telling how the new dealership model will impact de Nysschen's goal to hit 500,000 global sales by 2020. Related Video:

GM extending warranties on Cadillac CTS-V and Chevy Camaro ZL1 for supercharger issue

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

Okay General Motors, we've sat by and watched you recall the compact cars, crossovers and pickup trucks, and aside from reporting on it, we've been fairly quiet. This, though, this will not do. We can almost tolerate the recalls on the bread-and-butter cars, but leave the performance vehicles alone.
According to a report from The Car Connection, GM has discovered a problem with the superchargers of the 6.2-liter V8s found in the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and the Cadillac CTS-V. Apparently, the issue rests around the internal bearing shaft grease, which can become contaminated (we aren't sure with what). If left unchecked, it'll first lead to a rattle at idle, which goes away under slight throttle. The real warning stage is when a high-pitched squeal develops, signaling that the bearing shaft has failed. Naturally, severe engine damage is the next step (although it's possible that the engine will also just refuse to turnover, although neither case is desirable).
According to TCC, GM will replace the superchargers on vehicles that have exhibited symptoms of bearing shaft failure free of charge. It will also, allegedly, be extending the warranty on all supercharged ZL1s and CTS-Vs to 10 years or 120,000 miles (whichever comes first), from the date of purchase. Officially, only 2009 to 2013 CTS-Vs and 2012 to 2013 ZL1s are suffering from this issue.

Why the 2015 Detroit Auto Show will be the best since The Crisis

Tue, Dec 30 2014

The Detroit Auto Show clearly has its swagger back, and the 2015 edition will be a veritable feast for the enthusiast senses. We're talking serious performance, and it will be exhibited in a variety of forms. Sports cars. Supercars. Muscle-bound luxury cars. They're all set for splashy debuts in January in the Motor City. It's another signpost that companies have recovered from the global economic crisis that gripped the industry from 2008-09. For a while, automakers played it safe at Detroit and other shows. Environmentally friendly cars were important, especially for General Motors and Chrysler that were living on loans from Uncle Sam. Ford, Toyota and other companies generally focused on their best-selling or core models. With a few notable exceptions, recent auto shows have been a bit more buttoned-down than in the past. Boring probably isn't the right word, but austerity has been reality. That's changing. Car companies are making money. Sales are up. Aside from the many nagging recalls – and they are notable – the industry now has the time and energy to make performance cars a priority. That will be offered in hard evidence in Detroit. A year from now when we look back at this auto show, we'll sum it up with one word: Horsepower. But make no mistake, this isn't frivolous. Sports and luxury cars are expensive. They're profitable. They boost images and highlight strengths. With that in mind, here are five significant performance-oriented reveals to watch for when the show kicks off in less than two weeks. 2016 Acura NSX Acura's reborn NSX is a strong bet to earn plenty of votes for our Editors' Choice awards. It's one of the most anticipated – and strung-out – reveals of the year. Think back: we actually saw an NSX concept at the 2012 Detroit show, and Acura has spent the last three years teasing the car in a variety of ways. The slow burn, however, means we know a lot about the NSX. It's will use a mid-mounted twin-turbo hybrid powertrain and run with all-wheel drive. It will also wear an innovative zirconium e-coat paint, a new paint process that Honda says is more environmentally friendly. Honda has also said it will build the new NSX in Ohio, where a large part of the car's development work has been done. The original NSX was produced from 1990-2005 and helped establish Acura's performance credentials in the United States. It was a landmark car and a shot across the bow of Ferrari, Lamborghini and others.
