1986 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Sedan 4-door 5.0l on 2040-cars
Weatherford, Texas, United States
Starts up and runs well. Clean title. Car was purchased 2 years ago and
used as a daily driver up until last month. 100% stock with exception to
the tires. Has Oldmobile 307 V8, Bose Symphony Sound System, Sentinel Lights, Delay Wipers. Electronic Level Control still function normally. Tires
have been replaced and have around 1,000 miles on them, front disc
brakes were replaced last August, however, the rear drums need to be
replaced soon. Transmission seal blew last July and was replaced. New belts
and alternator, however, the alternator bracket needs to be replaced. Cigarette lighters and ash tray show signs of use, however, the vehicle has not been smoked in since it was purchased on June of 2012. Still has factory spare tire.
Car does need tlc; the transmission is beginning to slip under high rpms and hard accelerations (drives just fine otherwise), leaks antifreeze, left valve cover gasket is leaking oil, top of windshield leaks water when it rains, fuel gauge doesn't work (usually takes half a tank of gas by 100 miles on trip odometer) mechanic suggested replacing the shocks soon. AC doesn't blow cold air but heater works fine. Stock stereo and ac control panel work fine. Electrical problems are present; speakers prone to going out when turned up past 3/4 volume, power seats, cruise control, auto lock, power trunk pull down, and power antenna no longer work. Power windows work fine, interior lights work with exception of the map lights and drivers door work, windshield wipers work but the spray doesn't. One reverse light is out and needs replacement. Does have a dent in front bumper and cowl and the right bracket of the grille is broken. In addition, there is a dent on the right rear passenger door, all fillers are needing replacement, clear coat on hood is going out. Vinyl roof is in overall good shape, no cracking, just a few pockmarks. Left rear "Fleetwood Brougham" emblem is missing and the impression still faintly remains. I'm not certain if the tint is factory or aftermarket but is beginning to wrinkle on the right rear passenger window. Overall, the vehicle would make for a good project car or beginner car. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions and/or need any more photos. If you live nearby and would like to physically inspect the vehicle, you are welcome to do so. Condition of the car is not warranted and is being sold as is. |

2014 Cadillac XTS gets 410-hp twin-turbo V6
Tue, 14 May 2013General Motors told us so back in March, but it is now official: The twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 announced for the 2014 Cadillac CTS will also join the options list for the 2014 Cadillac XTS. The LF3 engine puts out 410 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque in the XTS, however, which is 10 hp and 61 lb-ft down from its application in the CTS. It will be identifiable from the outside by a specific grille treatment and a badge on the decklid. The 3.6-liter V6 with 304 hp and 264 lb-ft holds steady as the standard engine, and both will be yoked to a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
Also new for the front-wheel drive model for 2014 are updates that include electric power steering and optional Automatic Parking Assist that can maneuver the sedan into parallel parking spots. The three trims above standard - Luxury, Premium and Platinum - get Intellibeam headlights that automatically switch between high- and low-beam,
The four current trim levels remain but the list of optional extras for the higher specs grows with a rear-seat entertainment system equipped with DVD screens in the front seatbacks, memory settings for the front passenger seat and an armrest in the back seat fitted with radio and sunshade controls. The press release below has more info on all of the changes.
Cadillac Escala Concept shows off a softer side of American luxury
Fri, Aug 19 2016When Cadillac announced that it would be appearing at Monterey Car Week with a stunning, new concept, the news sent a rush of blood to the head. Would it be a CT6 Coupe? A new V-series model? A follow-up to the show-stopping Elmiraj? Tonight, at the beginning of a weekend of festivities to tantalize automotive enthusiasts and aficionados, Cadillac instead showed off a glimpse of reality: the Escala four-door coupe concept. It wasn't behind a flat-white background, but at a futuristic yet modern home nestled in the hills that Cadillac president Johan De Nysschen introduced the Escala as a "point of inflection" for the brand. Keen observers will note that "Escala" is nearly "Escalade," but any similarity between the two vehicles ends there. De Nysschen noted that the four-door is meant to "relentlessly drive this brand back to its place at the pinnacle of premium." "Nothing less will do," de Nysschen said. The Escala is neither as bold as some recent Cadillacs to take the stage, nor as brash. From a distance, it has a wide, muscular stance wrapped in a tailored suit. Up close, it almost resembles a four-door Camaro — perhaps a nod to the work of former Holden design chief and incoming General Motors director of design, Michael Simcoe. De Nysschen described the Escala project as an "opportunity for designers to flex their creative muscle." The Escala seems to have a footprint mirroring that of a Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, but it feels wider and smaller at the same time. Is the shape derivative? Perhaps, but the Escala's design is less a reflection of a future, incognito Cadillac, and more of a chance for the brand to show off the details that might soon become icons. The Escala's shape may not be earth-shatteringly different, but the truth is in its details. The mirrors are as thin as designer spectacles. The C-pillar offers an opportunity to show off Cadillac's latest take on the Hoffmeister kink. A glass roof adds visual airiness. And a simple "GM DESIGN" badge sits below the side doors, in deference to the stylists who labored to make the Escala different. The most defining element of the concept is the way it utilizes light. There isn't anything blinding about its lighting, but that means you can focus on the shape and appreciate the ambience. The depth of the LED tail lights adds visual length to the Escala and shows where Cadillac's designers placed the most importance. It's contrast and beauty at once.
