1978 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham on 2040-cars
Palm Desert, California, United States
This is a sharp clean rust free survivor! 1978 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham 73,400 original miles Columbia blue (#21) Dark blue top (C) Blue cloth interior (#24C) Car comes with original window sticker and paperwork This Cadillac was purchased new at Bill Copps Cadillac in Vancouver, Washington on November 11, 1977 by Mr. Louis Krize. The car was lovingly cared for by Mr. Krize and was soon brought to his home in Arizona where it was used lightly and always garaged. After Mr. Krize passed away a friend of his purchased the car from his estate and he drove the car lightly as well. Soon after the car came to California and I was able to purchase the car. The car has been serviced and cared for and it shows. The car starts and runs like it should and it is smooth and powerful! All options work including level-ride and A/C and power antenna. This is a great driving car and handles nicely around town or on the freeway. Drive anywhere! Every angle of this car shows nothing but beauty! Car comes with two sets of keys and one set of uncut gold keys from 1978 in the pouch. Interior is so original and no cuts rips tears etc. The car has been fully serviced and needs only a new home. Thousands of dollars just spent on the following work done this year. New master cylinder/booster Belts/hoses Battery Muffler Cooling system flush Transmission service Rear differential service Complete tune up Rebuilt A/C system (Compressor etc) coverted to 134A Heater core Valve cover gaskets New front shocks 4 new American Classic 1.6" whitewall tires Power steering high pressure line New fuel pump and hoses Alignment The only work left to do is the headliner that is loose as they all are. It is tacked up but intact and useable. The interior is amazing and clean and soft cloth (not sunbaked) wood trim is exceptional! Door panels and dash are crack free. The body is straight and rust free, the paint is shiny and has very few imperfections. Look at the reflections in the paint in the pictures. The chrome is amazing as well. This car is clean sharp and almost a show car! There were 36,800 Fleetwood models produced in 1978, how many remain? You see many Coupe deVilles and Sedan Deville's But very few Fleetwood models. And when you do see them they are almost never in this great shape. This is one you can show or drive, your choice. Please call with questions or to make an appointment to see this amazing car. GM follows Ford and Honda in skipping SEMA
Fri, May 20 2022The list of automakers skipping SEMA has become longer. First reported by Muscle Cars and Trucks, and confirmed to us by a company representative, General Motors will not have an official presence at the aftermarket show. It joins Ford and Honda in leaving the show. It will be a large hole in the show, with the GM brands typically filling a significant swath of available show space in one of the main halls. GM hasn't provided much explanation for the move, either. The GM representative provided Autoblog with the same statement that Muscle Cars and Trucks got: "GM has made the decision not to participate in the 2022 SEMA Show. The SEMA show has always inspired us, and accessories and performance parts remain an important part of our business." We also asked if we would see any sort of announcements around the time of the show — Ford said it has plans to share some things around that time — however, the GM representative said that the company has no immediate plans for announcements. Certainly things could change between now and the November show, though. SEMA had previously noted that other exhibitors would help fill in some of the space vacated by these major OEMs. Another OEM, Volkswagen, is returning to the show after an absence, which will also help with the display deficit. Cadillac ATS-V shares track time and new face with CTS-V sibling
Tue, 24 Jun 2014It's been about eight months since we last heard anything on the eagerly anticipated Cadillac ATS-V, meaning it was high time a new batch of photos arrived of the twin-turbocharged, V6-powered sedan.
This latest round includes a shot of the hot ATS-V alongside the upcoming CTS-V, allowing us to glimpse through the camouflage and spot the family resemblance between the two über sedans. According to our spies, this is the first time we've gotten a look at the ATS-V's fascia without a nose bra to obscure larger details. This isn't the first time we've seen a vertically slated grille on an in-development Cadillac V car, although it is the first time we've seen it on the ATS-V. Aside from the main grille, the shapes of the sportier front fascia of the ATS-V tie in nicely with its big brother. We are rather curious about the hood on the ATS-V. It's difficult to tell from these images, but it looks like there may be some vents up there that may be meant to improve cooling to the alleged 425-horsepower engine.
Other details that we can see include swollen fenders and larger wheels that hide amplified brakes. The rear of the car remains heavily obscured by camo, with the sole details of note being the quad exhausts, which we've spotted on previous ATS-V prototypes.
Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites
Sun, Jan 7 2024Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.
