Another GEM from this large Cadillac collection.  Selling this 1972 Cadillac Fleetwood, 60 Special Brougham.  It is finished in blue with a black vinyl top.  The Cadillac has been stored in the garage and has not seen daylight in over 20 plus years.  The interior is in good condition.  The front driver's side bottom cushion does have some wear in the fabric(see video and photos).  The rear seats look like they have never been sat in.  The foot rest are still attached.  The seatbelts clean and intact.  It fires right up and drives good.  I personally would change all the fluids and bleed the brakes as they are a bit spongy.  Most likely from sitting all these years.  The chrome is good and the tires have good tread.  The dash is not cracked, the original radio is still in the dash.  The trunk is clean and the factory jack instructions are still attached.  The spare tire cover is still present too.  Cadillac's were the vehicle of choice of the rich and famous.  This 1972 was purchased new in Northern California in 1973 and remained here it's entire life, cozy in it's custom fit garage.  This Fleetwood was the garage mate of the 1972 Limo that I recently sold on ebay. Many more miles are to be driven in this Fleetwood so bid it to win it.  Selling for NO RESERVE.  Final bid gets to take her home. With all my auctions, a few requirements.  First, NO PAYPAL.  Second, any and all bidders with less than 10 feedback, and/or negative feedback need to contact me prior to bidding with their full name and contact number or their bid will be cancelled and their user id blocked from additional bidding.  Third, you are bidding to own, not look and make excuses.  Any and all inspections welcome during the auction period, not after.  Once the auction is completed, you are the new owner. Also, selling in AS-IS, Where-Is condition with NO WARRANTIES, expressed or implied.  Seller has represented vehicle to the best of his knowledge and makes no representations as to the condition of vehicle that are not known to him.  Vehicle is also advertised locally and seller reserves right to end the auction early and cancel all bids if sold outside of ebay.  Any and all interested buyers can email for a buy it now price if they cannot wait until the end of the auction.  So, with a great big, Caddy for your Daddy" yell, let the auction begin.

GM intends to offer semi-autonomous vehicles by 2020

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

Prepare for a few years of technological saber-rattling, as the world's automakers begin pushing to bring self-driving cars to market. Earlier this week, Nissan announced that it aims to offer autonomous vehicles by 2020, while Google, BMW and several other marks are working on similar efforts.
General Motors is doing things differently, though. Rather than push for a fully autonomous car, it's continuing to refine its semi-autonomous Super Cruise, a product that we tested in April 2012 and that will eventually see use on some Cadillacs before trickling down to the rest of the General Motors family. Super Cruise, which is undergoing testing in the Cadillac SRX, doesn't take complete control out of the driver's hands. Rather, under a very specific set of circumstances on the freeway, it will marry the capabilities of things like lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control to allow the driver to take their hands off the wheel. All of which sounds a lot like the system Mercedes-Benz is launching on the 2014 S-Class.
The system is still in development, according to John Capp, GM's director of electrical controls and active safety technology. Now that that the biggest hurdle, steering control, has been cleared, GM's engineers can focus on things like teaching the system to adapt to differing road conditions and visibility levels. As we reported in 2012, Super Cruise is still befuddled in low-visibility situations or when road markings aren't particularly clear.

Cadillac goes white-out on social media as prelude to Oscars announcement [w/video]

Fri, Feb 13 2015

Cadillac appears to be in a very odd place at the moment. On one hand, Johan De Nysschen is pushing the company towards a much more luxurious image that includes converting 700 dealers into boutiques, and a blitz of new products is also supposed to be on the way in the coming years. However, at the moment sales aren't necessarily keeping pace with production, and there are reportedly heavy incentives available on some models. Now, we're seeing the earliest hint at the next strike in the brand's strategy as its social media presence goes white across the web. Go check out Cadillac's official pages on the major social media hubs, and all you can find is blank space. There's just a period on Twitter, a blank box on Facebook, another one on Instagram and the company logo is even gone from Pinterest. Perhaps most bizarre is YouTube, where Caddy is showing five minutes of absolutely nothing (embedded below) with no sound at all. The video description is only a period. All of this nothingness is supposed to be a lead-up to Cadillac unveiling a completely new advertising campaign during the Oscars on February 22. This method of blanking everything out beforehand could suggest a minimal, to-the-point message in the future. While it wouldn't be shocking for a few teasers to come out in the meantime, Caddy is keeping quite a secret before the big reveal.

Carpool Deville aims to be the world's fastest hot tub

Wed, 16 Jul 2014

The world needs crazy inventors with wild dreams. While we might not long for the things that they create, their contraptions certainly make the day a little more enjoyable. Take the Carpool Deville as an example. Nobody (well, almost nobody) is asking for a hot tub fashioned from a 1969 Cadillac that is still drivable. But now that you know that such a beast exists, don't try to tell us you aren't at least intrigued.
The team behind the six-year-long project has a pretty ingenious setup worked out. The Caddy's original 472-cubic-inch (7.7-liter) V8 both provides propulsion and heats the water. The interior is entirely replaced with a watertight, fiberglass tub that includes working jets, and the controls are all done by hand.
As if just building a mobile hot tub isn't enough, the team behind the Carpool Deville plans to take it racing too. Specifically, they intend to go to the Bonneville Salt Flats later this year to make a top speed run while immersed in water at over 100 degrees. They even have a roll cage all set to install to meet the safety requirements there.
