~This is a beautiful, ultra rare 1970 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Limousine sedan. 59,000 original miles! 100% rust free and original. Life long California car that still retains both of its blue and yellow license plates. 472/375hp V8, automatic, front and rear Ac, Air leveling suspension, power everything. The Cadillac has been nearly perfectly preserved over the years. The car was bought new in 1970 by the Mayor of Long Beach. Used for several years and then put in storage for nearly 25 years. Its a true time capsule! With only 875 of these ever produced and maybe a few hundred left this has to be one of the nicest, most original one in existence. ~The body is amazing! The car still wears all of its original paint with the exception of the roof and trunk lid. It was starting to fade so I had it redone. This is truly a 100% rust free California car! No rust ever! The undercarriage is just as clean. No rust, no scaling, no patching, just nice and original. The paint looks outstanding for being original. A few minor chips but overall and outstanding example of a well kept California Cadillac. All of the chrome is original and looks excellent. ~Mechanically She runs and drives excellent! Nothing rides like a Cadillac! The entire car has been gone through and been checked out to insure thats its reliable and ready to drive. All new front end bushings, New tires, All new brake system, exhaust, alternator, regulator, belts, hoses. All fluids were changed and transmission was resealed. I wouldn't hesitate for to drive it cross country today. ~The interior is 100% original and nearly perfect for being 43 years old. The dash is excellent. The original radio works. Cadillac CT6 ushers in new naming convention
Wed, 24 Sep 2014Johan de Nysschen has been at his new post as president of Cadillac for not even three months , but he's already seen two of his most notable accomplishments from his two-year tenure as president of Infiniti matched by Cadillac. The brand has announced that it is relocating its headquarters, and is now officially changing its nomenclature.
The brand's new flagship model will abandon the familiar three-letter designation enjoyed by every other model in the range (aside from the Escalade), and adopt an alpha-numeric title. So, rather than the expected title of LTS, Cadillac's top-end car will be called the CT6.
Of course, this won't be limited to just one model. According to Cadillac's press release, "familiar lettering like 'CT' would be used for car models, with the number indicating the relative size and position of the cars in the hierarchy of Cadillac models." And yes, that means what you think it means - Cadillac will use the exact same naming formula, albeit with different letters, as Infiniti.
Such Sweet Sorrow: Cadillac's CTS-V gets an Irish wake
Wed, Nov 26 2014As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. The honkin', stonkin' second-generation CTS-V, powered by Cadillac's brawny supercharged 6.2-liter V8 has been a very good thing. And now that the 500 final coupes – the only CTS-Vs designated 2015 models – have been built (just five remain unsold as of this writing), it is indeed a good thing that's come to an end. But Cadillac is not letting 2009–2015 CTS-V go gently into that good night, even as its replacement is poised to debut in just in just two months at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Instead, Cadillac invited us to Austin's Circuit of the Americas racetrack for what it called an "Irish wake" for the model that has proven to be one of the quickest and most charismatic models in General Motors' history. If you don't know what an Irish wake is, if you envision storytelling, songs, debauchery and more than a little liquor, you'll be in the ballpark. In this case, though, adrenaline substituted in for the booze, with squealing tires and shrieking V8s providing the singing. The debauchery took the form of an all-you-can-drive lapping of COTA in all three bodystyles – coupe, sedan and wagon – and the stories were told by the grins plastered on our faces all day. First and foremost, we'll miss the CTS-V's perfect balance of luxury and sportiness. Even after six years with no major changes, the CTS-V is surprisingly spry. Certainly, you never forget that it's a heavy thing, weighing in anywhere between 4217 pounds for the manual-equipped coupe to 4424 for an automatic wagon, but with 0-60 times of about four seconds and the ability to hit about 150 mph on COTA's back straight, the Vs remain an absolute hoot on the track. Sure, some of its details – the blocky front fascia shapes and the spoiler on the sedan and coupe models, for example – look a bit dated, but the overall design still looks sufficiently badass. The interior design has worn pretty well, too, and however Cadillac may feel about center stack buttons being so last decade, we favor them over the capacitive-touch madness of today's CUE system. We're not going to bother doing another full review of the car here, but suffice it to say, there is plenty we will miss. First and foremost, will be the CTS-V's perfect balance of luxury and sportiness. Rumor has it that Cadillac will offer the 6.2-liter LT4 V8 in the next generation (we predict about 600 hp), but we hear that the new car will skew more toward luxury than balls-out performance.
Cadillac highlights craftsmanship in latest Escalade teaser videos
Wed, 25 Sep 2013Cadillac, in case you haven't heard, is unveiling the new Escalade on October 7, completing the redesign of General Motors' large SUV range. The event is proceeding with the regular degree of "teasers" and "leaked images" that is typical of the automotive world, nowadays.
As the new Escalade's reveal date grows closer, Cadillac is trumping up interest for the new SUV, debuting five short teaser videos on its YouTube channel. While not showing much about the Escalade itself, the spots reveal plenty about its materials. Real wood and hand-stitched leather are highlighted, while we get another glimpse of the Escalade's vertically oriented headlights. Take a look below for all five spots.
