This is one of those great cars you hear stories about, lovingly cared for by its owner but lost to time after his passing. I encourage you to come see this car in person, I restore and repair classic cars for a living because I really love cars, so when I tell you this is one incredible find, take the time to see for yourself!
You should know:
I am listing the car for a customer who inherited a few cars from his father who was a collector. We went out to Kansas to prep them for transport as they had been stored in an old building for many years. When they arrived at my facility, we very carefully washed and cleaned them.
Also pulled the tires off to inspect the brakes, all parts are original, date coded components! The rotors were "lightly turned" to remove some surface corrosion and the calipers replaced, (original ones come with the car). The rears were very good, in fact the wheel flange on the axles still shines as if the car was assembled last week!
We pumped the old gas out of the tank and added fresh gas.
A new Delco battery was installed and she fired right up! She runs great, very smooth and quiet as you might expect from a car with 17,500 miles.
There is some damage as someone tried to steal some emblems. A few are missing.
We vacuumed and wiped the interior and polished all of the chrome.
Chrome on this car is unbelievable, it look new.
Check the date original date coded wires and painted heater hose, this car is a time capsule!!!!
While this is a great car its not perfect, I have not tried the air conditioning either. The paint is very nice but not sure if its original. If you want to see her, fly in and we can pick you up at Detroit Metro Airport and bring you back, its only about 1/2 hour ride.
I'm not sure what its really worth so we are starting the bidding low and hope for the best.
If you have questions, please call Dave's Hot Rod Garage 734-692-7151
Thank you.

Cadillac won't replace XTS after 2019
Mon, Apr 6 2015Cadillac wouldn't be Cadillac without a large sedan, but the definition of just which model fits that bill changed last week. Before the New York Auto Show, that role fell to the XTS. After the New York Auto Show, though, the focus shifted to the CT6. So what's to become of the XTS now that the CT6 has emerged? According to the latest intel, it'll live out the rest of its lifecycle until around 2019, but then drive off to its own funeral like so many limousines and hearses that were built off its platform. This was learned based on comments made by Cadillac chief Johan de Nysschen at the closed-door unveiling of the CT6 in Manhattan: "Ultimately, a car like XTS when it reaches the end of its lifecycle, will not be replaced." That'll be bad news for the livery business that – in the post-Town Car era – has come to rely on the XTS as the basis for its stretch jobs. "We will not have a car that will lend itself to these kind of modifications and we will probably withdraw from those markets," de Nysschen told GM Inside News. That's not all the new Cadillac boss had to say, though: he also indicated that the replacements for the ATS and CTS will be positioned differently from the current models: "As we move into the future refining our sedan portfolio, there will be no direct successor to the CTS. There will be no direct successor to the ATS. There is no point to renaming those cars because in the future those cars will disappear." Based on Johan's comments and those we've heard until now, we'd expect the replacement for the ATS to move down a size to take on the likes of the Audi A3 and Mercedes CLA, and the CTS' successor to move down half a size class as well to give the new CT6 a bit more breathing room, and possibly an even larger flagship sedan to be positioned above them all. 2014 Cadillac ELR
Mon, 29 Sep 2014Well, this is awkward.
A few years ago, Audi Of America's boss Johan de Nysschen went on record describing the Chevrolet Volt as "a car for idiots." Fast-forward to earlier this summer, and the well-regarded executive suddenly found himself in a new office with new business cards bearing the title: President, Cadillac. That means that among other challenges, de Nysschen is now tasked with selling the ELR, a car that is, at its core, a Volt in a sportier, less utile frock wearing a price tag that's twice as expensive.
Frankly, it's not a prospect we imagine the South African executive and recent Infiniti boss relishes. Just about nobody is buying the ELR - Cadillac has sold but 774 examples of its plug-in hybrid coupe this year and it presently has an almost a 200-day supply according to Automotive News. What's more, those numbers actually represent big improvements over just a few months ago, before GM started heaping on the incentives. The cynic in us says that the bad news for De Nysschen is that he's got a borderline sales-proof car in his new corporate garage. The good news? Cadillac customers apparently aren't idiots.
Cadillac Elmiraj sedan RWD flagship finally caught testing
Wed, 22 Jan 2014While we still have no insight as to it being named Elmiraj, STS or some other permutation of the -TS nomenclature ("LTS" has apparently been registered by GM, as well), new spy shots give us proof positive that Cadillac is indeed hard at work on a rear-wheel-drive flagship model. Spied for the very first time in some north country testing, these shots provide a first look at the upcoming range-topper from Cadillac.
Impressively long and large bodywork ride atop new General Motors' corporate Omega rear-drive architecture here. Heavy cladding over camouflage may discourage finding any details, but the overall, sharp-edged and blocky design is clearly reminiscent of what we've seen on the new CTS and the recently debuted ATS coupe. A strong, wheels-at-each-corner stance helps emphasize the length of this stretched Caddy, and everything about the proportions seem spot-on for a new fullsize flagship for the brand.
It's quite possible that Cadillac will ultimately festoon this large sedan with detailing reminiscent of the original Elmiraj coupe, though thus far we've only seen prototypes wearing four-doors.
