IN 2007 THE SON DECIDED TO TAKE THE CAR AND HAVE SOME MINOR ISSUES REPAIRED AND BY AUTO RESTORATION SHOP IN UPSTATE NEW YORK (FEN CADILLAC RESTORATION) WHO SPECIALIZES IN ANTIQUE CADILLACS. THEY DID FULL MECHANICAL UPGRADES TO THE CAR. FIX ALL THE SMALL THINGS THAT WERE NO WORKING AND REPLACED ALL THE WORN OUT PARTS. THE BILL FROM THEM WAS OVER 25K DOLLARS. CAR IS REALLY A MINT PIECE OF JEWELRY, WITH GREAT HISTORY!
CAR DRIVES LIKE A DREAM ! YOU NEED A BIG GARAGE FOR THIS CAR I DONT RECOMEND STORING IT OUTSIDE AS THE ELEMENTS WILL RUIN THIS VEHICLE OVER TIME AND FOR THE LAST 65 YEARS IT HAS BEEN PRESERVED IT SHOULD LAST ANOTHER 65 EASILY AS IT WAS BUILT LIKE A SHERMAN TANK.
THE CAR IS CURRENTLY SITTING IN MY GARAGE IN ROSLYN NEW YORK WHERE IS HAS BEEN RESTING FOR THE LAST 4 YEARS IN MY HEATED AND COOLED GARAGE, THE ONLY TIME IT LEAVES IS TO GO BACK AND FORTH TO THE RESTORATION SHOP ABOUT 15 MILES FROM MY HOME. I AM SELLING THIS CAR FOR 1 REASON ONLY, I DO NOT USE THE CAR AND IT JUST SITS IN MY GARAGE NOT BEING USED. IT NEEDS A OWNER WHO CAN USE IT AND ENJOY HER. I HAVE THE ROOM TO STORE IT, BUT NO TIME.

Cadillac's new ad campaign to tell you how to get lucky
Thu, 05 Sep 2013Cadillac is set to launch a new ad campaign this fall, as it attempts to maintain the momentum established by new models like the ATS. The campaign comes from an agency called Rogue, and according to AdAge, will lean on American values. It's called, "Work Hard. Be Lucky."
The campaign is fairly self-explanatory, just from the tagline. It's meant to make a Cadillac seem more attainable to the average, aspirational buyer. It does kind of pander to that American idea that everyone's hard work gets rewarded, but as ad campaigns go, that's not a bad thing.
Somehow, it doesn't roll off the tongue quite like "The Standard of the World." As AdAge points out, Cadillac's advertising over the years has lacked a real coherent theme, although we'll admit to enjoying the most recent campaigns, particularly the around-the-world jaunts with the ATS. It's unclear if the "Work Hard. Be Lucky." theme will evolve into an actual tagline for the brand, with Caddy spokesman Dave Caldwell telling the advertising mag, "It could very easily end up being a line of copy along with other lines; we don't really know yet. It's an open question as to how dramatically it will be featured."
Cadillac considering more electric cars, Elmiraj business case gaining popularity
Fri, 01 Nov 2013Cadillac's electrification isn't likely to stop at the $76,000 ELR coupe, according a report from TheDetroitBureau.com. Speaking to Cadillac's global sales boss, Bob Ferguson, a successful ELR will likely lead to a larger, even more upscale offering than the Volt-based two-door. "I could certainly see a larger vehicle, something even more luxurious," Ferguson said of a potential second, battery-powered Caddy.
That car would likely boast a more potent version of the Voltec powertrain that motivates the Volt and ELR. This next-generation system is still sometime off, though, and won't likely arrive until the second-generation Volt hits the market.
Besides hinting at future plug-in hybrids, Ferguson spoke to TDB about the improving business case for the Elmiraj Concept, shown at the Pebble Beach Concours in Monterey in August. "I'm very excited about the reception for the Elmiraj," Ferguson said. "I'd like to see it in showrooms as soon as possible," he added, before saying that a business case for the production version of the big coupe still needed to be presented to the brass. "It was made to be operationalized," Ferguson added, which is just what we want to hear when it comes to big, flashy concept cars.
Playboy reveals its 2013 Cars of the Year
Thu, 20 Dec 2012Vaunted men's magazine Playboy knows that its readers are nearly as interested in cars as they are in the female anatomy... sorry, we thought we could write that with a straight face. Anyway, the buff-book does occasionally fill some of its spreads with sexy metal, to accent all the rest of the sexiness.
To wit, the magazine has unveiled its feature on the 2013 Cars of the Year. Without giving us much in the way of criteria for the awards, nor a clear framing of the categories ("Responsible Ride" is a particularly challenging concept, especially when you consider that the Mazdaspeed3 was the winner), Playboy has nevertheless highlighted what we assume to be it's favorite 12 or 13 (depending on how you count) cars from the 2013 model year.
Headlining the class is the Porsche 911, which Playboy writers single out for having "remarkable electronic voodoo." BMW M5 is named "Slickest Sports Sedan" though the Cadillac ATS then follows on because "we couldn't resist giving the new Caddy a shout-out." The rest of the picks are pretty conventional (save, perhaps, the Honda Fit EV as "Ace Electric"), even if the categories and methodology are fairly wonky. Cruise through or gallery for a taste or check out the full list, here. The site is safe for work, and you can legitimately (this time) say that you were reading it for the articles.
