1952 Cadillac Fleetwood Rust Free From Califorina on 2040-cars
Canadensis, Pennsylvania, United States
This Fleetwood was brought to the East Coast in 1989 and has been garage kept. The Cadillac has been re-painted many years ago in a darker shade of green than the original and should be painted again as the paint that is on there now will not hold a shine. The original color can be seen in the pictures under the hood and trunk lid. They did change to the darker green in the door jambs. The body, floor boards and frame are solid except for some surface rust. There are no holes anywhere. It appears to be complete with no parts missing and all the trim is in good shape with only the 2 vertical moldings on the rear doors having some dings and a few minor dents. The chrome is ok except for the grille which you can see from the pictures has the plating wore off but is very solid. The interior has had seat covers installed and I have no idea what is under them. The door panels and carpet need to be replaced but are serviceable as they are. The trunk lining should be replaced also. All glass is good and all gauges work. I have not tried the radio but did try the vacuum antenna and it tries to go up on it's own but will not come down without some help. The windows work from the master switch but the left rear does not operate from the switch on the door itself. I'm sure all the contacts need cleaning. Tires are 2 years old and show no signs of dry rot or cracking. It has a good brake pedal and stops reasonably well for a car of this size. The transmission shifts good and the fluid has good color. The oil and filter have just been changed and a tune-up done, new plugs, points, cap and wires. The valve cover gaskets were replaced and everything looked good when we removed them, clean and no build up of gunk. The odometer shows 98,209 which I believe are the original miles although I have no way to verify that. I welcome you or your representative to come and inspect the vehicle before purchase. Any questions please give me a call as I have tried to explain all I know about the car. I can be reached at 570-460-8395 EST or email thru eBay. Vehicle is sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. Payment must be made in full before vehicle leaves my property and title released. I will accept a bank wire transfer, personal check or cash in person. All funds must clear before vehicle is released. I would like the vehicle removed within 30 days close of auction. |

Cadillac considering more electric cars, Elmiraj business case gaining popularity
Fri, 01 Nov 2013Cadillac's electrification isn't likely to stop at the $76,000 ELR coupe, according a report from TheDetroitBureau.com. Speaking to Cadillac's global sales boss, Bob Ferguson, a successful ELR will likely lead to a larger, even more upscale offering than the Volt-based two-door. "I could certainly see a larger vehicle, something even more luxurious," Ferguson said of a potential second, battery-powered Caddy.
That car would likely boast a more potent version of the Voltec powertrain that motivates the Volt and ELR. This next-generation system is still sometime off, though, and won't likely arrive until the second-generation Volt hits the market.
Besides hinting at future plug-in hybrids, Ferguson spoke to TDB about the improving business case for the Elmiraj Concept, shown at the Pebble Beach Concours in Monterey in August. "I'm very excited about the reception for the Elmiraj," Ferguson said. "I'd like to see it in showrooms as soon as possible," he added, before saying that a business case for the production version of the big coupe still needed to be presented to the brass. "It was made to be operationalized," Ferguson added, which is just what we want to hear when it comes to big, flashy concept cars.
Lansing builds its millionth Cadillac
Wed, 18 Sep 2013Cadillacs are built at plants across North America. The Escalade is assembled in Texas, the SRX in Mexico and the XTS in Ontario. But the bulk of Cadillac's lineup - or the smaller members of the family, at least - are built in Michigan. And while the upcoming ELR will be built alongside the Chevy Volt at the Detroit/Hamtramck facility (which incidentally opened with the Cadillac Eldorado back in '86), the majority of those Cadillacs built in Michigan are handled by the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant.
In fact, Lansing Grand River just celebrated its millionth Cadillac built. The landmark millionth vehicle is a new 2014 CTS sedan in Red Obsession Tintcoat. The facility opened in 2001 and has built Cadillacs almost exclusively since then, assembling the CTS and ATS model lines, though in a couple of years it will also handle production of the Chevy Camaro.
Facelifted Cadillac ATS spied completely uncovered
Thu, 27 Feb 2014The Cadillac ATS makes for a pretty svelte little coupe, and General Motors appears to know it, because multiple, completely undisguised prototype sedans have been spotted testing wearing what look like many of the forthcoming coupe's body parts.
Not only does it wear at least the outline of the brand's new, broader crest, it has the same front air dam with continuous chrome strip found on the coupe. The only real difference is that it has the somewhat taller side view mirrors from the sedan, rather than the narrower, longer ones from the coupe. Around back, the changes are harder to spot because the test car is outfitted with an unpainted lower bumper. However, it seems to lack the chrome strip that offsets the lower portion of the coupe from the sedan.
The ATS sedan is already a looker, but it is good to see Cadillac is taking a second pass using what it learned on the coupe. There's no word yet on when this revised sedan is going to hit the streets - let alone what changes will take place beneath the skin - but we're thinking it looks about right for 2015.
