what your looking at is a 1950 cadillac that was sitting in a barn for 46 years. its pretty solid and have minimal rust. most only in the rockers which i have replacements but i didnt want to use them because the car is so clean and original. it has all stainless and all trim inside and out, including the gangster visor and the stainless window visors fender skirts and the trim for them as well. the interior is pretty clean and there is no carpets in it, everything on the inside is in pretty good shape. ive driven cars with way worse interiors, even the headliner is in good shape and the dash is clean as a whistle. the steering wheel bakelite is cracking up but its still useable. the car has only 56000 miles and i think im the third owner of it. its had a bunch of work to get it up to running and driving condition. its got a rebuilt carb, new water pump and fuel pump, tons of fresh gaskets and paint on the motor making it have a clean appearance as well. converted to 12 volt using a new one wire alternator and new coil and condensor as well as i have the 12v starter solenoid but so far i havdent installed it the 6 volt is working fine still and it fires right up easily as you can see in the video i posted on my youtube, the battery is new as well and only 575 amps and starts the car quite easily. the brakes have been gone through and it has a rebuilt master cylinder and new rear wheel cyliners as well as wheel bearings. it stops easily and works as it should. the transmission is an automatic 2 speed and runs fine and shifts fine. it needs a gas tank and exhaust so i have driven it around for fun but never very far because of my 1 gallon can and the fumes from the exhaust. it starts runs and stops. my plan was to slam it, not repair any of the rust and replace the hydraulic window regulators with electric ones, throw some mexican blankets on the seat and call it a day. there is a small bullet hole in the roof. looks like a 22. if i didnt tell you, you proabbaly wouldnt notice for a while. but i always thought it was kinda cool. all the glass is there but there is a crack in the rear passenger side glass. the rest has been down in the doors since i got it and i cant guarantee its condition but seems to be fine. ill give you the 6 volt stuff i removed as well. this is a cool car you just dont see many of sitting around at car shows and is a gem in its current condition and i wouldnt change a thing about it appearance personally. questions or you want to come see it call me. 407-405-3982. once you see it youll take it home.

Weekly Recap: 2016 CTS-V gives Cadillac new momentum for the new year
Sat, Dec 27 2014It's been a rough year for Cadillac. The historic luxury carmaker been in the news for all of the wrong reasons: Declining sales, ditching its advertising agency and the relocation of its headquarters from Detroit to New York. But in late December, Cadillac reminded everyone what it does best: Build some of the rawest and most compelling luxury sedans in the world, as evidenced by the 2016 CTS-V. This monster churns out 640 horsepower from a supercharged 6.2-liter V8. Sound familiar? That's the Corvette Z06 engine, and it makes this CTS the most powerful production Cadillac ever. It also puts the sporting divisions of the Germans on notice. The new CTS-V easily overpowers the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S 4Matic and its 5.5-liter biturbo V8 rated at 577 hp, and the BMW M5 (with the competition pack) and its 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that pushes out 575 hp. The rear-wheel drive Cadillac can sprint to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds, which is close to the 3.5-second time turned in by the 4Matic-driven E63 S, and a bit quicker than the 4.1 seconds posted by the M5. With Magnetic Ride Control, General Motors' stout eight-speed automatic transmission (also used in the Corvette), Brembo brakes and a carbon-fiber option package that pretty much builds your car out of carbon fiber – it's clear this Cadillac means business. Truth be told, we expected this CTS-V to deliver. It's been a serious sports sedan for a decade, and the recent generation and its 556-hp arrogance have been particularly memorable. But notice what we're doing here? We're talking about product. Not who makes Cadillac's ads, or if the brand's headquarters has a mailing address in NYC. Like the 2016 ATS-V that's due in the spring, the debut of the 2016 CTS-V (on sale in late summer) is a shot in the arm for Cadillac, and its arrival comes during time of transition. The brand is trying to reinvent itself as a modern luxury maker. It wants new customers, a different image and obviously more sales. Those things are going to take time, but with a 640-hp sledgehammer of a sports sedan on tap for next year, Cadillac can still maintain some of its swagger through all of the change. 2016 Cadillac CT6 to get an aluminum body?
Sat, Dec 27 2014Well this is interesting: A hot-off-the-press report in Automobile claims the coming Cadillac CT6 will have an aluminum body. Most write-ups on the CT6 claim it will have a body that's a combination of aluminum and high-strength steel - Automobile itself wrote of "high-strength steel, aluminum, and steel stampings" in October. An all-aluminum body would be quite the reversal, contradicting the last four months of reportage and company statements on the matter. Mark Reuss, EVP of global development at General Motors, told The Detroit News in October, "We will create with the CT6, the world's most advanced body structure... [and] it's not aluminum. It's a stronger, smarter, safer premium luxury vehicle." It echoed the earlier Automobile story in saying the CT6 would use GM's "patented welding technology with high-strength steel, aluminum and steel stampings and castings." That same month, the Wall Street Journal ran a piece titled, "GM Won't Follow Aluminum Strategy in Future Cars," in which Reuss said, "making big statements around all carbon fiber, all aluminum, all magnesium, they're very interesting," and that GM wouldn't be doing it. That piece also circled back to a material mix and GM's special welding process, saying the CT6 "will have a body made of aluminum, high-strength steel and other materials, and will be 100 kilograms (220 pounds) lighter than a similar-sized car made of high-strength steel." We don't know what kind of body Cadillac's new assault on luxury is going to wear, but now we can't wait to find out. de Nysschen pushes to separate Cadillac, GM
Wed, Aug 12 2015Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen continues his push to separate his brand from General Motors. After controversially picking up shop and moving to New York's trendy SoHo neighborhood, de Nysschen has now gone on record as saying that within two years, the brand will enjoy "a far higher degree of autonomy and self sufficiency." That autonomy will include the brand reporting its own financial results, independent of GM. But what would such a move do for Cadillac? Well, as de Nysschen explained it to Automotive News, "Cadillac at this state makes a very sizeable contribution to the overall profit at General Motors." If that's truly the case, separating financial announcements serves to emphasize the prosperous character de Nysschen seems so keen on attaching to his brand. But that's only one phase of Cadillac's push to distance itself from GM. De Nysschen is eager to revamp the company's dealership model so that it stands out from other GM brands, calling it a "very profound focus." Those moves, according to AN, including a change to the current dealer incentive model with a particular emphasis on building the brand rather than nailing sales figures. "If you aren't strengthening the brand perception, you should have less reward," de Nysschen told AN. While his goals seem clear, de Nysschen's statements have left us wondering whether they're also somewhat counterintuitive. Emphasizing Caddy's prosperity to potential consumers while incentivizing dealers to move less metal seems more like a tactical move rather than a strategic one. And there's no telling how the new dealership model will impact de Nysschen's goal to hit 500,000 global sales by 2020. Related Video:
