'96 Fleetwwod 95" Stretch Limo. on 2040-cars
Akron, Ohio, United States
|
This fine example of the last of the proud Fleetwoods was originally built by Krystal Coach for the Mirage in Las Vegas, where it served 10 years. I bought it from the Mirage in '07 and have had it in continuous livery service ever since and is still in service until you buy it.
The engine has been replaced with a correct LT-1 engine from a state police interceptor and is currently at about 150K on the motor. Paint, vinyl top, and tires are all in fair and serviceable condition. Heat, A/C, lights, radios, windows, and sunroof all work. There are some minor scratches, clear coat nicks, dings and imperfections as to be expected from continuous service as a livery vehicle. The passenger seat doesn't recline and passenger front door window has trouble rolling down. The fuel gauge doesn't work. But the trip meter does. so as long as you reset the trip and get gas every 250 miles or less, you're fine. There's a slight exhaust leak at the down pipe junction. And the check engine light is on because the new engine did not come with a crank position sensor wheel. I have the one off the original engine in the trunk. But just never got around to mounting it since it doesn't effect the running at all. But overall, it starts, runs, drives, and stops as it should and get's 24 MPH on the highway, 12 in the city, and averages 16-18 MPG. It is always well maintained. I use it every weekend for weddings, funerals, nights out, etc. and I actually drove it from Northern Ohio to Key West and back in February, and wouldn't hesitate to do it again tomorrow. I hate to let her go. However, I'm it's time to revamp my fleet with newer limousines. So here's your chance to own a limousine that has transported the likes of such celebrities as BB King, Great White, Ratt, Journey, Frankie Avalon, White Lion, Warrant, Eddie Money, Don Dokken, Kip Winger, Mark Wills band, Tim "Ripper" Owens, Mike "Mad Dog" Adams, West side Steve Simmons, Sebastian Bach, Paula Poundstone, The Manhattans, countless members of the Indians, Cavaliers, Browns, and the list goes on. So give it a bid and start your own limousine service with this tried, trusted, true, and elegant last of the proud Fleetwoods. I'm also selling a nearly identical '95 112" stretch Chicago Armor Fleetwood limousine in a separate auction. Lots of spare parts come with the car. including door cards, window switches, a bumper, a door, and engine parts. |

Cadillac, Buick and Chevy decisions impacted by worries abroad
Fri, 05 Jul 2013European Concerns Drive GM, But Beware Of The French Connection
GM's bid to rationalize Europe will impact the products that will be offered domestically.
It seems that Europe is defining the future of General Motors more so than its home North American market. Having axed Saturn, Pontiac and Hummer, GM has done a fairly good job of repositioning its remaining four divisions, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC. Cadillac carries the luxury banner. Chevrolet is aimed at the masses with cars and trucks along with a nod to performance thanks to Camaro and Corvette. Buick bridges the premium gap between Chevy and Cadillac, while GMC offers a hardcore work/upscale proposition.
Hotter Cadillac CT5-V prototype spotted with a manual transmission
Tue, Mar 10 2020Fans of the old Cadillac CTS-V (and high-performance sedans in general) may have something to be excited about. A series of interior photos leaked Tuesday reveal that prototypes of the forthcoming higher-output variant of the CT5-V Sedan have been equipped with a manual gearbox. Exclusive: Photos show the wilder Cadillac CT5-V will have a manual transmissionhttps://t.co/Ta8hZ804eg — The Drive (@thedrive) March 10, 2020 Photos obtained by our friends at The Drive show a partially camouflaged CT5-V prototype with a full interior and what appears to be a manual gear selector. While the shifter and its boot are partially obscured by a plastic covering, it's obvious that the knob is not the same one paired with Cadillac's automatic gearboxes, such as the one featured in our expertly augmented photo above. This is not the first time the potential for a stick-shift option in the new, higher-end "V" cars has been floated. Rumors suggesting that the as-yet-unnamed higher-output CT4-V and CT5-V models might be so-equipped (at least optionally) circulated late in 2019. This, in addition to significantly higher power outputs and revised suspensions will set them apart dramatically from the base CT4-V and CT5-V, which are intended to compete with the likes of the Audi "S" line of vehicles. CT4-V spied View 40 Photos GM has been quite cagey when it comes to details about these new models. We know they'll follow in the footsteps of previous-generation "V" cars, which were aimed squarely at Europe's powerhouse sport sedans. The hotter CT5 variant is expected to employ the automaker's 6.2-liter supercharged V8, which made 640 horsepower in the now-dead CTS-V. We reached out to Cadillac for comment and were told by a spokesperson, "The ultra-performance variants of our Cadillac CT5-V and CT4-Vs are still under development.  We will have more details to share in the next few weeks and the CT5-V and CT4-V ultra-performance versions will debut later this year. Until then, I can only confirm that these cars will build on V-SeriesÂ’ respected legacy." Hopefully, GM won't make us wait too much longer for official details of these new high-performance models, including what we should expect in terms of powertrain availability and launch timing. Stay tuned. Related Video:
Cadillac Super Cruise, a hands-off review
Fri, Oct 6 2017Cadillac Super Cruise won't let you eat breakfast behind the wheel, climb in the back seat or any of the other stupid human tricks displayed on YouTube by Tesla owners. It even won't allow the car to change lanes on its own, like Tesla Autopilot. But it's a big step on the road to full autonomy, a huge convenience on long-distance road trips and a substantial technological triumph for Cadillac. In the simplest terms, Super Cruise is a lane-centering enhancement to adaptive cruise control (ACC). But Super Cruise is anything but simple. Its technical complexity — hence its long delay after first being unveiled five years ago — belies its straightforward operation and intuitive user interface, which I discovered on an almost 750-mile, 11-hour drive in a 2018 Cadillac CT6 between Dallas and Santa Fe to test the system. LOADS OF LIMITATIONS First, let's dispense with the details and disclaimers. Super Cruise is standard on the 2018 CT6 Platinum and a $5,000 option on other trim levels. Because Super Cruise is supported by OnStar — an OnStar operator will call to find out if first responders need to be sent in a worst-case scenario — a three-year OnStar Super Cruise Package is included with the system. Super Cruise has loads of limitations that are probably more concerning to GM's legal counsel than they were to me during my long drive. Some are no-brainers, such as not for use in construction zones or for driving on the shoulder. But the system can also be stymied by adverse weather, poor visibility and faded lane markings. Super Cruise only works on freeways with on and off ramps and a center divider. ACC and forward collision warning also need to be engaged, and the system's cameras and radar sensors can't be obstructed. To keep drivers from looking away from the road for too long — and to keep the system active — an infrared camera on top of the steering column keeps an electronic eye on the driver's seat. GM has over 100 patents alone on this Driver Attention System, including an algorithm that triangulates the nose, eyes and ears in case the camera can't see through sunglasses to make sure you're not nodding off. In addition to the car's visible sensors, another major component of the system is something you don't see: mapping software. But not the kludgy kind that powers in-dash navigation systems.
