Up for auction is my 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible, in Cotillion White with white interior and white convertible top. It has been garage kept since I purchased it in 2008, driven sparingly in season and never driven during winter. All original mileage (76,000+) and factory-installed standard equipment; I believe the paint to be 1x repainted in factory original Cotillion White with red pinstripes.

The car has been driven sparingly with care, and has a clean title/history. It has not been recently detailed and has been mostly sitting in a garage. Please contact seller if you would like to exchange phone numbers or see additional pictures – I will try to post more during the week. The car can be seen in Manchester Township, NJ if you are in the area.

Read on for detailed specifications and terms of sale, payment and shipping. Thank you for looking.

The exterior of the car I believe to have been redone in its original cotillion white. When I purchased the car in 2008, I also acquired a full set of replacement body fillers and painted them to match the factory Cadillac color. I only got around to installing the front right fender filler, which had the most immediate need. The rest can be seen in the photos of additional parts that will be included with purchase. The paint on this car has some sun fade but overall looks good. There is a noticeable scratch on the driver’s side rear quarter panel. This car has never sustained any collision damage and has one small area of rust repair beneath the passenger door. I never even noticed it myself until the car was up on a lift. The white convertible top is worn and could use replacing. It was like this when I purchased the car. I originally intended to do some work to it make it show quality, but time and money (or lack thereof) got in the way and it stayed the good looking casual driver it is today. With the work that I never accomplished, she would be a gem. The car is complete with all of its stainless and chrome trim except for the hood ornament, which someone helped themselves to while I was out in it one night. The car sits on older but decent tread tires and red painted era-correct hubcaps that match the dash, carpet and parade boot (a nice touch). You’ll see in the pictures I have a brand new set of chrome plated hubcaps that I am including with purchase.

The interior is white leather. The driver’s side seat shows wear and the vinyl armrest on the driver’s door is torn. The rest of the seats and doors are quite clean; the back seat is immaculate. The dash is good for it’s age with some dirt and fading and two small stress cracks to the driver side upper dash that are very small. Full working power on all four windows and seats are dual 6-way power. The power to the top does not work. It was in that condition when I bought it and I don’t know what the cause is. It could be the top motor or as simple as a relay. I have been raising and lowering the top manually, but not often as I really don’t ever drive the car unless it is top down weather. The red parade boot can be seen in the photos and is included. The driver’s side view mirror glass is a bit loose inside the casing, and there is a crack in the windshield.

Heater/blower works but is noisy at times and A/C does not blow cold. It has the original Cadillac AM/FM 8 track radio, though it does not play 8 tracks. Power steering, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, front and rear seat belts, full size spare and jack in the trunk. Carpet is faded and worn in spots, but better than average for an almost 40 year old car.

The original 8.2L 500 CID engine starts and runs every time but could use a going through and probably a tune up. It does have a newly installed water pump. It also has a complete new exhaust and runs very quiet. The suspension is sitting a little low in the rear and could probably stand to be replaced. The transmission shifts nicely through all gears and the brakes work well with a recently replaced power brake booster.

2020 Cadillac XT5 makes its official debut, adding a new engine and improved tech

Thu, Jul 25 2019

The 2020 Cadillac XT5 is here, and it’s new in some significant ways. To start, it gets a slightly revised look. We got a preview of it a month ago when Cadillac revealed the car in China, but these are official U.S.-specific photos now.  YouÂ’re looking at pictures of the XT5 Sport and Premium Luxury here. We mention this because Cadillac is continuing in its “Y” trim strategy of offering a Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport version of their cars with noticeable design differentiation between each one. The Sport gets a darker appearance package with the XT4-like grille, as opposed to the Premium Luxury that is set to emphasize bright trim (i.e. chrome).  WeÂ’re expecting a noticeable change in the driving experience for the 2020 XT5, as the new base engine is the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that debuted in the XT4. ItÂ’ll be making 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque in this application, just as it does in every vehicle GM is spreading it to. The 3.6-liter V6 is standard on the Sport (optional on Premium Luxury), and continues to make 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are paired with nine-speed automatic transmissions now — the V6 was paired with an eight-speed previously.  Cadillac has also spent some time with the suspension, giving the non-Sport trims “revised front struts and driveline enhancements to improve ride comfort and road isolation.” We like the sound of that. Then, the Sport trim is legitimately sportier than the Luxury trims. Cadillac has fitted its continuous damping control adaptive suspension, given it quicker steering, standard all-wheel drive and standard 20-inch wheels. All that should make it slightly more lively through the twisties. A smattering of tech updates are coming onboard for 2020. Cadillac added its rotary controller that lets you control the updated infotainment system via that device or through the touchscreen. Available wireless phone charging, revised USB ports and USB Type-C ports come on the 2020 XT5. Then youÂ’ll notice new interior color and trim gracing the interior surfaces, as well. Cadillac says there are more “authentic materials” than before, so hopefully that means less plastic. What Cadillac made no mention of in its release, is Super Cruise. ItÂ’s going to be coming to the recently revealed CT5 and CT4-V sedans, but Cadillac doesnÂ’t seem particularly keen to get it on the crossovers yet.

Cadillac launching crossover-heavy product offensive

Fri, 06 Sep 2013

Utilizing information provided by Cadillac suppliers, Reuters says that Cadillac is preparing two more crossovers that will bow after its current product initiative is complete. According to the report, a year after the next SRX arrives in 2016, a pair of CUVs will be unveiled that will bracket it in size, and they'll be headed for the US and Chinese markets.
That is years away, though. For now, the company's attentions are on the nearly here CTS and ELR range-extended coupe, the next Escalade SUV (shown above), an ATS coupe, and the range-topper that will sit above the XTS. That, and possibly an even more impressive range-topper that promises to be the mean and majestic super-luxe unicorn Cadillac we've been dreaming about for more than a decade now.
In response to the issue of how German crossovers might be having an impact on Cadillac's future plans, a company source said - rightly, we think - "we don't need to duplicate the Germans." That doesn't mean, however, that it can't wade deeper into a market segment that the Germans are making a ton of money in. In fact, and since everyone is doing it, we'd be surprised if Cadillac didn't, even if it won't happen for another four years.

Drive like a prince: Join us for a walk through Monaco's car collection

Fri, Dec 29 2023

Small, crowded, and a royal pain in the trunk lid to drive into during rush hour, Monaco sounds like an improbable location for a huge car museum. And yet, this tiny city-state has been closely linked to car culture for over a century. It hosts two major racing events every year, many of its residents would qualify for a frequent shopper card if Rolls-Royce issued one, and Prince Rainier III began assembling a collection of cars in the late 1950s. He opened his collection to the public in 1993 and the museum quickly turned into a popular tourist attraction. The collection continued to grow after his death in April 2005; it moved to a new facility located right on Hercules Port in July 2022. Monaco being Monaco, you'd expect to walk into a room full of the latest, shiniest, and most powerful supercars ever to shred a tire. That's not the case: while there is no shortage of high-horsepower machines, the first cars you see after paying ˆ10 (approximately $11) to get in are pre-war models. In that era, the template for the car as we know it in 2023 hadn't been created, so an eclectic assortment of expensive and dauntingly experimental machines roamed whatever roads were available to them. One is the Leyat Helica, which was built in France in 1921 with a 1.2-liter air-cooled flat-twin sourced from the world of aviation. Fittingly, the two-cylinder spun a massive, plane-like propeller. Government vehicles get a special spot in the museum. They range from a Cadillac Series 6700 with an amusing blend of period-correct French-market yellow headlights and massive fins to a 2011 Lexus LS 600h with a custom-made transparent roof panel that was built by Belgian coachbuilder Carat Duchatelet for Prince Albert II's wedding. Here's where it all gets a little weird: you've got a 1952 Austin FX3, a Ghia-bodied 1959 Fiat 500 Jolly, a 1960 BMW Isetta, and a 1971 Lotus Seven. That has to be someone's idea of a perfect four-car garage.  One of the most significant cars in the collection lurks in the far corner of the main hall, which is located a level below the entrance. At first glance, it's a kitted-out Renault 4CV with auxiliary lights, a racing number on the front end, and a period-correct registration number issued in the Bouches-du-Rhone department of France. It doesn't look all that different than the later, unmodified 4CV parked right next to it. Here's what's special about it: this is one of the small handful of Type 1063 models built by Renault for competition.
