76,000 Miles, Triple White, Good Original Condition, With Extras Included on 2040-cars
Manchester Township, New Jersey, United States
Up for auction is my 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible, in
Cotillion White with white interior and white convertible top. It has been garage
kept since I purchased it in 2008, driven sparingly in season and never driven
during winter. All original mileage (76,000+) and factory-installed standard
equipment; I believe the paint to be 1x repainted in factory original Cotillion
White with red pinstripes.
The car has been driven sparingly with care, and has a clean
title/history. It has not been recently detailed and has been mostly sitting in
a garage. Please contact seller if you would like to exchange phone numbers or
see additional pictures – I will try to post more during the week. The car can
be seen in Manchester Township, NJ if you are in the area.
Read on for detailed specifications and terms of sale, payment
and shipping. Thank you for looking.
The exterior of the car I believe to have been redone in its
original cotillion white. When I purchased the car in 2008, I also acquired a
full set of replacement body fillers and painted them to match the factory
Cadillac color. I only got around to installing the front right fender filler,
which had the most immediate need. The rest can be seen in the photos of
additional parts that will be included with purchase. The paint on this car has
some sun fade but overall looks good. There is a noticeable scratch on the
driver’s side rear quarter panel. This car has never sustained any collision
damage and has one small area of rust repair beneath the passenger door. I
never even noticed it myself until the car was up on a lift. The white
convertible top is worn and could use replacing. It was like this when I
purchased the car. I originally intended to do some work to it make it show
quality, but time and money (or lack thereof) got in the way and it stayed the
good looking casual driver it is today. With the work that I never
accomplished, she would be a gem. The car is complete with all of its stainless
and chrome trim except for the hood ornament, which someone helped themselves
to while I was out in it one night. The car sits on older but decent tread
tires and red painted era-correct hubcaps that match the dash, carpet and
parade boot (a nice touch). You’ll see in the pictures I have a brand new set
of chrome plated hubcaps that I am including with purchase. The interior is white leather. The driver’s side seat shows wear
and the vinyl armrest on the driver’s door is torn. The rest of the seats and
doors are quite clean; the back seat is immaculate. The dash is good for it’s
age with some dirt and fading and two small stress cracks to the driver side
upper dash that are very small. Full working power on all four windows and
seats are dual 6-way power. The power to the top does not work. It was in that
condition when I bought it and I don’t know what the cause is. It could be the
top motor or as simple as a relay. I have been raising and lowering the top
manually, but not often as I really don’t ever drive the car unless it is top
down weather. The red parade boot can be seen in the photos and is included. The
driver’s side view mirror glass is a bit loose inside the casing, and there is
a crack in the windshield. Heater/blower works but is noisy at times and A/C does not blow
cold. It has the original Cadillac AM/FM 8 track radio, though it does not play
8 tracks. Power steering, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, front and rear
seat belts, full size spare and jack in the trunk. Carpet is faded and worn in
spots, but better than average for an almost 40 year old car. The original 8.2L 500 CID engine starts and runs every time but
could use a going through and probably a tune up. It does have a newly
installed water pump. It also has a complete new exhaust and runs very quiet.
The suspension is sitting a little low in the rear and could probably stand to
be replaced. The transmission shifts nicely through all gears and the brakes
work well with a recently replaced power brake booster.

Cadillac boss says small SUV 'at least four years away'
Sat, Jan 24 2015Since Johan de Nysschen's takeover as brand president, there's a lot of buzz around Cadillac. Now, the brand's leader is now giving a little more clarity about when we might see some of the company's future vehicles, including its compact crossover. "Product development life cycles being what they are, I don't have a date in mind but I would estimate it is at least four years away," said de Nysschen about a small Cadillac CUV. The comments were made to Reuters during the Washington Auto Show. The vehicle is part of Cadillac's eight-model, $12 billion reinvention through 2020. Interestingly, de Nysschen told Autoblog at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show that he estimated the compact luxury CUV to arrive by early 2018. The boss also indicated that Cadillac would get a sedan to slot below the ATS some time in 2017, and the previously spied SRX replacement, possibly called the XT5, would debut in 2016. In the meantime, the company's flagship CT6 is being unveiled at the 2015 New York Auto Show in April. The wait for a luxury compact CUV makes Cadillac one of the later entries into the segment. The space is already filling with vehicles like the BMW X1, Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, Lexus NX and Lincoln MKC. Small crossovers in general seem to still be growing in sales. While building a better brand in the US, de Nysschen also wants to grow Cadillac in Europe in the future. He told Reuters that he wants diesel vehicles ready for 2019 to appeal to customers there. Some might even be offered in the US. News Source: ReutersImage Credit: Scott Olson / Getty Images Design/Style Cadillac Crossover Diesel Vehicles Luxury de nysschen
2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe
Thu, 30 Oct 2014Cadillac has become a very, very different company since the dawn of the new millenium. Its turn-of-the-century lineup, consisting of staid offerings like the Seville, DeVille and Eldorado, represented the Old Cadillac. These cars were plagued with Old GM quality issues and catered to a more elderly audience. Since the company's Art and Science design language arrived, though, we've seen Cadillac flesh out its lineup in a big way, introducing notable and (so far) enduring products, like the the CTS, SRX and most recently, the ATS.
With the CTS tackling the 5 Series segment and the SRX duking it out with the Lexus RX and its classmates, the ATS has been left with the tough task of battling the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, among others. Critically, at least, it has excelled in this role, but it's still working on finding its feet sales-wise. On paper, broadening the model range by adding a two-door personal luxury coupe could help.
After a week with the ATS Coupe, though, we've found a car that, while retaining the standard model's excellent driving character, doesn't quite offer enough visual excitement to stand up to other cars in its segment.
No, Cadillac is not killing its flagship CT6 sedan
Sat, Jul 22 2017Mark Twain never actually said that reports of his death had been greatly exaggerated. But if the Cadillac CT6 could talk, those are the exact words it would use. Speaking to Jalopnik, Cadillac chief Johan de Nysschen confirmed, emphatically, "There is absolutely no plan, at all, to cancel the CT6." In fact, says de Nysschen, the CT6 will soon be the beneficiary of significant investment. "The [CT6] forms a very important part of our product strategy going forward for the brand. The car also has a very major contribution to make to the shaping of brand perceptions, and the transformational process that Cadillac is undergoing." For instance, expect the CT6 to spearhead General Motors' most advanced forays into self-driving automobile technology. Interestingly, though, the Cadillac ATS and CTS sedans probably won't live past their current generations as the automaker 're-balances its sedan portfolio.' Replacement models are "in development" right now, says de Nysschen, which will "much more clearly separate the market position, both in terms of target customer demographics, in terms of market segments and in terms of price points between these three sedan lineups." So, that's confirmation that the Cadillac CT6 is going to stick around for a while. But what of other models cited by Reuters to potentially be killed, like the Buick LaCrosse and Chevy Impala and Volt? Read our take on that here, but suffice it to say that we don't think they're in danger, either.
