2000 Cadillac Eldorado ESC FULLY LOADED, ALL ORIGINAL CAR Bought car May of last year for $4,300. No rust on car, Fully Loaded, heated Leather seats. Power everything. good paint, and rims in great shape. Brand new battery bought December 2013. I put all new ceramic brake pads, new rotors and calipers on the car in June of 2013. A/C needs to be charged. *The car started overheating a few weeks ago, so we have decided to sell it. Car is being sold AS IS! I checked the heads for head gasket leaks when we bought the car, the tested fine. Car has 146,000 miles on it so I'd say it may need just a water pump/thermostat OR it is possible that the heads do need to be re-done on it now. I do not know. Car is being sold AS IS. After 10 minutes of driving she overheats. Car is located in Rego Park, Queens. C7 Corvette won't spawn new Cadillac XLR [w/video]
Fri, 23 Aug 2013Between the new 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray and the even newer Cadillac Elmiraj Concept shown off at Pebble Beach, we were already expecting some sort of chatter of a Cadillac XLR redux. During an in-depth C7 Corvette discussion with Tadge Juechter, the car's chief engineer, Fox News asked if a Corvette-based, Bowling Green-built Cadillac will be built off the C7. Non-spoiler alert: the answer is no.
Juechter says that General Motors has "no intent" on transforming this car into a Cadillac product since the C7 has been optimized for the Corvette buyer, a consumer that's generally a different sort of person than a Cadillac intender who might also be cross-shopping a Mercedes-Benz SL-Class or BMW 6 Series.
While we're not ready to write off a future XLR altogether, we assume that the Corvette Cadillac experiment is most likely never going to happen again. The interview with Juechter is posted below, but the XLR discussion comes in at the 9:00 mark.
Cadillac to recall 20,000 SRX models over wheels that could fall off
Thu, 23 May 2013A potential issue with the lug nuts on 19,871 units of the 2013 Cadillac SRX in the US and Canada has lead to a recall of the luxury crossover. Those lug nuts that have a Teflon topcoat, identified by their bluish tint, could loosen and cause "creaking, rattling or grinding noises or steering vibrations." In the worst case scenario, a wheel could fall off, but there have been no reports of that happening, nor any reports of accidents or injuries due to the issue.
This is the second recall action on the SRX over the last few months. In March, Cadillac recalled 27,000 SRX models over a transmission programming issue. General Motors will begin notifying customers with the potentially faulty parts on June 3, at which time they can take their vehicles to dealers to have the tires rotated and new nuts installed. A further 7,397 SRXs exported from North America also face the recall action.
Cadillac developing stretched ATS-L just for China
Sat, 25 Jan 2014To luxury automakers, long-wheelbase sedans are to China that crossovers and SUVs are to the US, so it isn't all that surprising any more when the latest sedan gets an extra couple of inches between the wheels to improve rear-seat comfort. According to Car News China, the next sedan to get the stretch will be the Cadillac ATS, which will increase the wheelbase by 10 centimeters (about four inches) to become the ATS-L.
Designed to go up against rivals like the BMW 335Li and the added-length Mercedes C-Class, the ATS-L will reportedly be built locally in China with an engine list that will grow as well. Currently, only the 2.0-liter turbo engine is offered in the ATS in China, but the ATS-L will get the full spectrum of ATS engines including the base 2.5-liter and the peppier 3.6-liter V6. This isn't the first time Cadillac has offered a China-specific stretched sedan either as the SLS dates back to 2006.
