Palm City, Florida, United States

Offered here is a very low mileage,

1996 Cadillac Eldorado Touring Coupe with the 300 horsepower Northstar engine,

that I am selling for my Dad's Good friend who just got here from NY.

This was his daily driver, repairs were done as needed.

Kelly Blue Book lists the car at a "Good' condition value of $4,110.

No Damage but afew normal age/ parking related scratches and 1 or tiny dings.

It has a "Crimestopper" alarm installed that also locks and unlocks both doors.

The drivers' seat shows wear and has a New seat cover to protect it from further wear.

Previous owner did not sufficiently keep the Leather, so it started to crack on preforations and seat back.

Easily re-covered, if need be. All, except the Anti-lock brakes work well.

He purchased a used brake module, but has not had it replaced yet.

The part is included with the sale of this car.

The original air-bag suspension was replaced with Arnot Struts and springs front and back for a better ride.

The entire Air Conditionong system has been replaced with New parts.

Works very well, Ice Cold Air...

The engine runs very well, many New parts have been added.

The transmission is Brand New.

Replaced in January of this year, prior to his move from New York.

Only reason was that His then girlfriend used the car, and when she checked the oil at a gas stop,

the fellow did not replace the dipstick properly and the fluid was pushed out under pressure.

She continued to drive it until it made alot of noise, then only had 1st gear.

He had the car towed to Lee Myles in Brooklyn, New York who then replaced the entire guts of the transmission.

It now runs Very well. Only miles on it are from the trip down.

The Moonroof opens in 2 positions, vent and fully opened. Please see pics.

Tires are relatively New, purchased last year.

So are the front and rear drilled, slotted rotors and brake pads.

Bills are included for all work done. This car is being Offered At No Reserve.

He will let the market determine the value of this good running automobile.

Any and All questions will be answered by Robert, the owner at 516-668-5277.

The car is also being offered at my Dad's repair shop,

so we reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

Many Thanks for Looking, Watching and/or Bidding.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

GM extending warranties on Cadillac CTS-V and Chevy Camaro ZL1 for supercharger issue

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

Okay General Motors, we've sat by and watched you recall the compact cars, crossovers and pickup trucks, and aside from reporting on it, we've been fairly quiet. This, though, this will not do. We can almost tolerate the recalls on the bread-and-butter cars, but leave the performance vehicles alone.
According to a report from The Car Connection, GM has discovered a problem with the superchargers of the 6.2-liter V8s found in the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and the Cadillac CTS-V. Apparently, the issue rests around the internal bearing shaft grease, which can become contaminated (we aren't sure with what). If left unchecked, it'll first lead to a rattle at idle, which goes away under slight throttle. The real warning stage is when a high-pitched squeal develops, signaling that the bearing shaft has failed. Naturally, severe engine damage is the next step (although it's possible that the engine will also just refuse to turnover, although neither case is desirable).
According to TCC, GM will replace the superchargers on vehicles that have exhibited symptoms of bearing shaft failure free of charge. It will also, allegedly, be extending the warranty on all supercharged ZL1s and CTS-Vs to 10 years or 120,000 miles (whichever comes first), from the date of purchase. Officially, only 2009 to 2013 CTS-Vs and 2012 to 2013 ZL1s are suffering from this issue.

2013 Cadillac XTS [w/video]

The Cadillac Of Stopgaps
As confusing as most alphanumeric car names have gotten in recent years, at least one constant has been that the letter "X" is generally indicative of a crossover. Then why did General Motors use this letter on its new 2013 Cadillac XTS luxury sedan? Well, for that, we'll have to look to the world of mathematics where "X" stands for an unknown variable or a placeholder. Now we're talking. The XTS is just an interim product sitting at the top of Cadillac's four-door food chain until the brand gets a true flagship in place. That sounds like a lot of resources to spend on what will likely be a one-and-done model, but the automaker needed to get something - anything - to replace the DTS.
So here you have the 2013 XTS. A big luxury sedan that was created to bridge the gap between Cadillac's recent past and its pending future. Going into our week with this XTS knowing that it was a stopgap measure proved to be both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, we know (or hope) that this car will act as a baseline for future high-end Cadillac models, but at the same time, we couldn't help but be mindful of past stopgap models, albeit in more entry-level segments, like the Cimarron and Catera.
