This is a 1985 Cadillac Eldorado, This Eldorado has 62,000 original miles. it is a one owner car bought by my parents brand new. i am listing it as a project car because it is weathered and needs some work. it does run great and drives great and has good brakes. it was last on the road in 1998 and was pennsylvania inspected then. it was in the garage from 1998 until 2012. All of the issues were there when the car was parked. The car needs a headliner and sunvisors. The rest of the interior is very nice with just a cracked drivers side armrest as shown. It also needs all of those plastic bumper fillers and some chrome replating. Tires are from the 90's and have good tread but have some cracking. they are not bad though. car also has the upgraded bose stereo system that works great but has some speaker static when it is first turned on. air conditioning needs to be charged and power antenna is broken. as stated this is a project car that could be driven as it is worked on. $500.00 deposit via paypal at end of listing. will not ship the car but will work with buyer's broker or shipper. very low reserve. might be waived if it gets close. relisted due to being listed in wrong category. do not want to sell it but need some money right now. it is also for sale locally. simulated convertible top

GM will recall more than 3.3 million vehicles in China for suspension defect

BEIJING (Reuters) - General Motors' joint venture in China, Shanghai GM, will recall more than 3.3 million Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac vehicles stating Oct. 20 because of a defect with the suspension system, China's market regulator said on Saturday. GM Shanghai said in a text message to Reuters that the suspension arm may be deformed under extreme operating conditions, but there are no known casualties related to the issue. The recall includes cars produced between 2013 and 2018, the State Administration for Market Regulation said in a statement. GM will contact those affected and repair the vehicles free of charge, it said. J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998

For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.

Cadillac toned down ATS Coupe design due to customer feedback [w/poll]

Automakers always face a difficult decision when it comes to styling their cars. Design them too blandly and nobody will get excited about them. But style them too aggressively and they'll often end up turning off potential buyers.
Cadillac, for its part, is no stranger to aggressive design, but when it came to the new ATS Coupe, it elected to tone things down a bit. Speaking with The Detroit News in a wide-ranging interview, Cadillac design director Bob Boniface revealed that the original design for its compact coupe was edgier - closer to that of the CTS Coupe - with a wedgier profile, a more steeply raked beltline and a more severe grille. But potential customers surveyed in clinics apparently didn't like it. They found it looked heavy, inefficient and not fun to drive. So Boniface and his team literally went back to the drawing board and "took as much visual mass out of the car as [they] could." The resulting coupe, while handsome, looks far more similar to its four-door companion than did Cadillac's CTS.
