1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz on 2040-cars

1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz, Beautiful low mile example of the Last of the Full size (larger than Life Eldos.). Very desirable color combination of white, with white pillow interior and red accents. I purchased this car indirectly from the original owner, I am the second registered owner. The car came from Maryland. It has obviously been garaged and cared for all its life with only 22,000 + miles on it. Due probably to lack of use just before it was sold to me it is obvious that someone went through the cooling system and fuel system completely and professionally reconditioning or replacing the radiator, heater core, restored carburetor, sealed and cleaned fuel tank, radiator Hoses, fuel hoses, etc. Anything that should be considered before driving it trouble free to NJ from Maryland. Also has like new wide white radial tires. I have used the car for local car shows and ice cream stand runs very limited for the time I have owned it. I changed the oil and filters, added ZDP , I serviced the transmission oil and filter. I purchased the car to take place of other collector cars I own because I wanted something stately and user friendly, and safe for my kid to be in. Due to limited space and some changes in life I would like to try to Pass The Torch, and sell for what I have invested in it. This is a true car of integrity, It runs like a Swiss watch, Rides like a living room couch. And it glows like it is plugged into the wall. Climate control. power seats, brakes, windows, Trunk, Automatic headlight dimmer, split power front seats, Leather pillow interior, cruise control, 4 wheel disc brakes, 4 way stereo with working 8-track tape player. Factory cadillac CB radio. Rear window defog, Etc. Has original space saver spare and jack, trunk floor mat. original cadillac floor mats. original owners manual. The condition of the car speaks for itself as far as being an honest cared for low mile car in that the interior is like new, the chrome is beautiful, All the pot metal is perfect with no pitting. Even the insides of the ash trays and cigar lighters are immaculate. The condition of the underside is such that many of the factory markings and tags from the assembly line are in place, the exhaust system is clean and complete with catalytic converter, muffler and resonator.
To answer a few things about the car that knowledgable caddy people are likely to ask,,, The front and rear filler extensions on this car have been replaced with reproduction ABS fillers. The air ride hight sensor was not working so I removed it along with the original rear shocks and installed a set of Monroe air shocks with a manual air valve under the rear bumper. I bagged and tagged the old parts to be kept with the car. Although all components are in place, the air conditioner Does Not Work , I never bothered to try servicing it because I do not use the car enough. It does appear to have the newer freon connectors as opposed to the old R-12. Important notes,,,,, My description is honest, Yet please understand that the car is being sold as is usually the case with No Warranties, it is an old car that is to be accepted as-is. I would also appreciate a hand to hand transaction and have you or someone look the car over. However,, I will not take the car to some garage and have it poked and probed. Also I have no problem with over seas buyers, but I cannot in these days and times give out personal info or fill out forms for import reasons. So if anyone over seas is interested in the car please know the ropes,, Have someone here who can see and purchase for you. This only the second time this car has been available for purchase since it was bought new. ( I have the original owners name), It will not be one of those forever Ebay listings, If the car shows no series interest I am going to put it on Jack stands in the garage and forget that I own it for ten years. I reserve the right to remove the listing at any time. Payment of $400. deposit within 24 hours of sale , remainder to be paid bank transfer, certified check, payment in person is preferred. buyer responsible for any and all shipping expenses . Thanks for looking. |

Fri, Feb 5 2021In this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by News Editor Joel Stocksdale and Associate Editor Byron Hurd. It's a packed show this week, and the three dive straight into the week's truck loads of news, starting with the unveiling of the Cadillac CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing variants, followed by the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor and the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder and Frontier. Next, they move on to what they've been driving. For Byron, that means more trucks. Lots and lots of trucks. Joel recently spent some time behind the wheel of a Bronco Sport, and the three discuss its merits as both an off- and on-road crossover. From this, they segue into a "Spend My Money" featuring Senior Producer Chris McGraw's neighbor, who acquired an older Forest Service Bronco and wants tips on what to do with it. Autoblog Podcast #663 Get The Podcast iTunes – Subscribe to the Autoblog Podcast in iTunes RSS – Add the Autoblog Podcast feed to your RSS aggregator MP3 – Download the MP3 directly Rundown News 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, CT4-V Blackwing bring big performance back to the brand 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor revealed, packing EcoBoost power, coil suspension and factory 37s 2022 Nissan Frontier enters the modern midsize truck world with big redesign 2022 Nissan Pathfinder debuts with fresh new duds, no more CVT What we're driving: 2021 Ford F-150 2021 Nissan Titan Pro-4X 2021 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Spend My Money Feedback Email – Podcast@Autoblog.com Review the show on iTunes Autoblog is now live on your smart speakers and voice assistants with the audio Autoblog Daily Digest. Cadillac's Johan de Nysschen clarifies a few points on the brand's future
Mon, Mar 19 2018Last week, Motor Trend ran coverage on a journo roundtable with Cadillac president Johan de Nysschen. During the roundtable, de Nysschen cited a few reasons for the decline in sedan sales, including gas prices, "young consumers" — read, millennials — less interested in driving dynamics than lifestyle accessories, and the state of U.S. infrastructure. Jalopnik homed in on the last two reasons, and those became the story, including here in our post on the roundtable. So de Nysschen called Jalopnik to add more context. The original reaction pieces painted de Nysschen's rationales as an excuse for sporty sedans not selling well, when the issue is Cadillac's sporty sedans not selling well. His main clarification: "I wasn't advocating the idea that the world is black and white, that if you're a young buyer a millennial or a teenager that you don't enjoy driving." On that note, it would be ridiculous to deny millennial and sedan-segment bugbears; de Nysschen has market research and the industry-wide, rabbit-like crossover breeding program to back him up. Yet even as he touted the success of the XT5, noting that it's "the third-best-selling luxury nameplate in the U.S. after the Lexus RX, and the Mercedes C-Class," he could add, "But the irony is not lost on me that the C-Class is a sedan." The circumstances laid out in the follow-up piece inject more likely color into the situation: the brand's onetime, singleminded focus on the U.S., followed by a singleminded focus on China that left the U.S. market wanting for attention. We could add to that: years of lackluster products and awful attempts at volume and brand engineering under the old GM at the same time that downsized premium luxury products, crossovers, and SUVs began their rocketship trajectories; trying to live off the Escalade success; and the carmaker's desire not to offend its older, traditional buyers while concurrently wooing "coastal influencers." De Nysschen also acknowledged that Cadillac interiors aren't where they need to be, saying, "We recognize that's where we want to improve." The result, as de Nysschen put it, "We're playing with the hand that we've been dealt.
GM’s Charlie Wilson was right: Stronger regulations can help U.S. automakers
Fri, Oct 26 2018Charlie Wilson had been the president and CEO of General Motors before being nominated to become secretary of defense by Dwight Eisenhower. During his Senate confirmation hearings, he controversially said, "For years I thought what was good for our country was good for General Motors, and vice versa." And he was right. While car companies aren't necessarily the most progressive when it comes to things that might have the slightest possibility of political blowback, General Motors should be credited for doing something absolutely forthright in this regard with its announcement that it wants the federal U.S. government not to squash the California Air Resources Board's emissions requirements but to actually create a 50-state "National Zero Emissions Vehicle" program that, in the words of Mark Reuss, executive vice president and president, Global Product Group and Cadillac, "will drive the scale and infrastructure investments needed to allow the U.S. to lead the way to a zero emission future." Filing comments to the Safer Affordable Fuel-Efficient Vehicles Rule for Model Years 2021-2026 Passenger Cars and Light Trucks is one thing. But a graphic the company developed for this announcement — shown above — is something else entirely, something that is absolutely credible, creative and clever. There is a photo of a Chevrolet Bolt EV driving along a highway, which seems to be in Marin County (based on the blurred San Francisco skyline in the background). Text on the photo states: "It's Time for American Leadership in Zero Emissions Vehicles." It seems to say, in effect, "If we want to make America great again, then we're going to do it by leading in technology, not by retreating behind weakened regulations." General Motors understands that the auto market is globally competitive, and if U.S.-based companies are going to be in the game, then they'd better be able to out-innovate the companies based elsewhere, where emissions and economy standards are not being weakened. What's good for our country ... Related Video:
