1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz,  Beautiful low mile example of the Last of the Full size (larger than Life Eldos.). Very desirable color combination of white, with white pillow interior and red accents. I purchased this car indirectly from the original owner, I am the second registered owner.  The car came from Maryland.  It has obviously been garaged and cared for all its life with only 22,000 + miles on it.   Due probably to lack of use just before it was sold to me it is obvious that someone went through the cooling system and fuel system completely and professionally reconditioning or replacing the radiator,  heater core, restored carburetor, sealed and cleaned fuel tank, radiator Hoses, fuel hoses, etc. Anything that should be considered before driving it trouble free to NJ from Maryland. Also has like new wide white radial tires. I have used the car for local car shows and ice cream stand runs very limited for the time I have owned it. I changed the oil and filters, added ZDP , I  serviced the transmission oil and filter. I purchased the car to take place of other collector cars I own because I wanted something stately and user friendly, and safe for my kid to be in.  Due to limited space and some changes in life I would like to try to Pass The Torch, and sell for what I have invested in it.  This is a true car of integrity, It runs like a Swiss watch, Rides like a living room couch. And it  glows like it is plugged into the wall. Climate control. power seats, brakes, windows, Trunk, Automatic headlight dimmer, split power front seats, Leather pillow interior, cruise control, 4 wheel disc brakes, 4 way stereo with working 8-track tape player. Factory cadillac CB radio. Rear window defog,  Etc.  Has original space saver spare and jack, trunk floor mat. original cadillac floor mats. original owners manual. The condition of the car speaks for itself as far as being an honest cared for low mile car in that the interior is like new, the chrome is beautiful, All the pot metal is perfect with no pitting. Even the insides of the ash trays and cigar lighters are immaculate. The condition of the underside is such that many of the factory markings and tags from the assembly line are in place, the exhaust system is clean and complete with catalytic converter, muffler and resonator.
To answer a few things about the car that knowledgable caddy people are likely to ask,,,  The front and rear filler extensions on this car have been replaced with reproduction ABS fillers. The air ride hight sensor was not working so I removed it along with the original rear shocks and installed a set of Monroe air shocks with a manual air valve under the rear bumper. I bagged and tagged the old parts to be kept with the car.    Although all components are in place, the air conditioner   Does Not Work  , I never bothered to try servicing it because I do not use the car enough. It does appear to have the newer freon connectors as opposed to the old R-12.
Important notes,,,,,  My description is honest,  Yet please understand that the car is being sold as is usually the case with No Warranties, it is an old car that is to be accepted as-is. I would also appreciate a hand to hand transaction and have you or someone look the car over.  However,,  I will not take the car to some garage and have it poked and probed. Also I have no problem with over seas buyers, but I cannot in these days and times give out personal info or fill out forms for import reasons.  So if anyone over seas is interested in the car please know the ropes,, Have someone here who can see and purchase for you. This only the second time this car has been available for purchase since it was bought new. ( I have the original owners name), It will not be one of those forever Ebay listings, If the car shows no series interest I am going to put it on Jack stands in the garage and forget that I own it for ten years.  I reserve the right to remove the listing at any time. Payment of $400. deposit within 24 hours of sale  , remainder to be paid bank transfer, certified check, payment in person is preferred. buyer responsible for any and all shipping expenses .  Thanks for looking.

Cadillac CT5 spied with quad exhaust, could signal a hotter version is coming

Fri, May 3 2019

The 2020 Cadillac CT5 just broke cover at the NY Auto Show this year, but one of our spy shooters caught one decked out in camouflage looking a bit different than the versions we've already seen. Instead of the dual exhaust on both the turbocharged four-cylinder and twin-turbo V6, this one has a quad exhaust outlet. We'll note that the placement of the quad outlets is one and the same with the two larger outlets on the CT5 already revealed. Also, the rest of the car looks relatively ho-hum. It has the wheels from the CT5 Sport trim, and the front end appears to most closely represent the Luxury trim. Some of the coverings appear to be opened up on that front end, possibly in an attempt to increase airflow. The most obvious change of them all is the quad exhaust, though, which brings us back to a conversation we had with a Cadillac representative at the car's initial media launch. As we were standing around gawking at the new CT5 in Sport trim, a brand representative told us all the "Sport" models (four-cylinders and V6s) would be getting quad exhaust, while the "Luxury" trims would get dual exhaust. We pointed at the CT5 Sport right in front of us and noted that it just had a dual exhaust setup. This ended up causing more confusion, as the Cadillac representative was adamant that they had seen the CT5 Sport with quad exhaust. When all was said and done, there wasn't exactly a clear explanation given for what was up with this mysterious CT5 model with quad exhaust, so we left it at that. We can guess, though. Perhaps the Cadillac rep had seen a Sport model with quad exhaust, but it was a future "V-Sport" variant we weren't allowed to know of yet. Cadillac hasn't revealed its future plans for the CT5 fully, but it did hint that at least one performance variant would be on the way. This camo'd up car here does not look anything like a full-on V model, but it could be the beginnings of a slightly more powerful version of the sport sedan. The 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 makes 335 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Of course, there's always room for more power in this class, and a V-Sport model would slot in nicely to the new sedan's range. Keep in mind this all remains speculative in nature. However, our curious conversation with Cadillac combined with these spy shots signal that something could be afoot.

2020 Cadillac CT4-V First Drive + Video | The Cadillac of compact Cadillacs

Fri, Jun 5 2020

With the launch of the 2020 Cadillac CT4, GM is pushing back into the smallest luxury sedan segment that in recent years has almost exclusively featured entries from Germany. We're pleased to see it return, and importantly, that it definitely came back prepared. The CT4’s key differentiator is its platform. Unlike the bulk of entry-level luxury sedans currently on the market, the Cadillac rides on a rear-wheel-drive platform. All-wheel drive is available throughout the lineup for those who need (or just want) four-season flexibility, but itÂ’s meant to be a convenience feature rather than a performance upgrade — the same is not true of its front-wheel-drive competitors. The CT4 ostensibly replaces the discontinued ATS, but reality is a bit murkier than that. Stop us if youÂ’ve heard this before, but the Cadillac CT4 is not entirely size-appropriate for the class. While the CT4 is aimed at the subcompact luxury sedan segment (and the CT5 at the compact), itÂ’s dimensionally a bit closer to the likes of the Mercedes C-Class than it is the A-Class. This gives Caddy a bit of an advantage, but itÂ’s nothing we havenÂ’t seen from GMÂ’s luxury arm before. Cadillac has chosen instead to target the segment based on price, which is a win for consumers in a way, as you can get a little bit more bang for your buck if theyÂ’re willing to take a chance on the underdog. Cadillac is offering its new small sedan in three states of tune. The base (“Luxury”) model boasts a 2.0-liter engine good for 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The Premium Luxury and CT4-V models get the 2.7-liter — which is still a four-cylinder — that makes 310 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque in its base tune and 325 hp and 380 lb-ft in the CT4-V. All three variants make use of GMÂ’s active fuel management tech which allows them to run on just two cylinders to conserve fuel while cruising. Yes, you read that correctly. The CT4-V boasts just 325 hp, which may seem like a pittance considering the outrageously powerful V models of CadillacÂ’s past, but GMÂ’s luxury arm has decided to re-jigger its performance hierarchy by eliminating “V-Sport” entirely, shifting “V” down to fill that role, and introducing a series of new range-topping performance models dubbed “Blackwing.” In that context, the CT4-V may seem like an also-ran, but consider the company it keeps.

Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
