I am the second owner of this saved 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Coupe. The 1st owner after replacing a leaking windshield had it to leak again, so he bought a new car, built a 2"x12" lumber wooden crate and stored this 76 Eldorado in his heated RV Bldg. from 1968 until I bought it in 2012. The windshield has sealed itself over time. The yellow leather is soft and clean, and the headliner and sun visors are in very great shape without any holes in them. The carpet has some small stains that may come out with soap and water, but I haven't tried that yet. All the glass is nice. The yellow paint is drivable but needs repaint or touchup to be perfect. The padded top has some small cracks in the surface and some small rust stains at chrome lines. The chrome band that trims behind the back glass has popped a plastic connecter, so the trim has popped up and apart, but isn't broken. There is no broken trim anywhere. The trunk has a solid floor, the trunk lid has typical surface rust at the drip edge that you can see in trunk pictures. It needs to be sanded and repainted. A tree limb blew onto the once perfect body and as you can see in two pictures, it put two small dents in it, one the left fender and one in the hood. The plastic bumper filler on all four corners have cracked and I removed them thinking that I would get some new ones, they are remanufactured for replacement. The low mileage 500ci engine, after having the oil changed and using clean gasoline cranked up right away and ran good. I pulled the valve covers, cleaned the covers, cleaned the rocker arm assembles by taking them and the pushrods out and cleaning them thoroughly. The water pump was leaking, so I pulled the pump off and replaced it with a new one. I cleaned all the pulleys, braces, radiator, new hose, and painted the metal components
Cadillac blue before installing them. The nice nostalgic CB unit and gear are still mounted to left of the steering wheel. The lights and gauges all work including the interior lamps. The front grill is all complete without any damage The car starts, runs but can't be driven far, because the tires are old and 2 won't hold air for over a day. Needs new set of tires There is still a water leak under the engine area and I can't do the work anymore which is the reason for selling the car. I have developed a serious muscle and nerve disorder that won't let me get up and down or use my hands very well. I got a new Texas title in my name, got new Texas plates when I bought it. The catalytic convertor is good, but needs a new muffler. If I had stayed in good health, I would complete this beautiful 1976 model, but I would be pleased to get some of my investment back, good luck bidding if you also like this body style. I have shipped a car before with a hauler just 100 miles away and he is fair. I could get you in touch with his office if you need a hauler, and I will do what I can to answer other question, just send me a note through my listing on e-bay. call 325-201-4710 cell, Jerry located 100 miles west of Fort Worth near Abilene, Texas

UPDATE for those who asked about the rough edge on the front fenders, The metal fender is smooth, it is the left broken white rugged plastic insert that you see still there. Weekly Recap: GM scales back as Russian auto market teeters
Sat, Mar 21 2015General Motors' extensive plans to scale back its Russian operations are the latest sign the automotive market in the former superpower is collapsing – and there are few signs of recovery. GM said Wednesday it will stop selling mainstream Chevrolets and shutter the entire Opel brand in Russia. The moves leave GM with a luxury-focused presence consisting of Cadillac and Chevrolet's Corvette, Camaro and Tahoe. The cutbacks will be completed by the end of the year. The automaker will also idle its factory in St. Petersburg and end a contract-assembly agreement with Russian manufacturer GAZ. "We had to take decisive action in Russia to protect our business," Opel Group CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann said in a statement. "We confirm our outlook to return the European business to profitability in 2016 and stick to our long-term goals." GM is the latest automaker to scale back in Russia as the economic conditions, volatile currency and uncertainty over the conflict in the Ukraine all have sandbagged new car sales. Last month, vehicle sales collapsed 38 percent in Russia to 128,298 units, according to the Association of European Business, which records sales. Joerg Schreiber, chairman of the AEB automobile manufacturers committee, didn't even feign optimism in a statement announcing the figures. "The market is entering a very difficult phase now, and February is only the beginning," he said. "Industry sentiment is the next few months will be extremely difficult and the market bottom has yet to be found." The dovetails with industry experts, who predict the Russian auto sector will remain in the doldrums. IHS said earlier this year it expects Russia's sales to slip to just 1.8 million units in 2015, which is a 40-percent drop from 2012. Other News & Notes Chief leads Jeep's Easter Safari stable Jeep is bringing seven attention-getting concepts to Moab for its annual Easter Safari off-roading celebration in Utah, but the Chief is perhaps the standout of the group. It salutes the 1970s Cherokee with a throwback appearance and surfer styling cues. The Chief has a custom modified razor grille made famous by the Wagoneer, and it rolls on 17-inch slotted mag wheels. The surf theme comes in with ocean blue paint, floral cloth and leather seats and a tiki-style shifter handle. Based on the Jeep Wrangler, the Chief has removable sides, a 3.6-liter V6 engine and a six-speed manual gearbox.
Hotter Cadillac ATS-V+ could use LS7 power
Tue, May 26 2015Rumor has it Cadillac is working on an even hotter version of the ATS-V, possibly called ATS-V+. And the latest intel from Motor Trend suggests this new model might have a great, big V8 under the hood. The V8 in question is the high-revving, naturally aspirated 7.0-liter LS7 from the Camaro Z/28. The hand-built engine makes 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque in the Z/28 – a nice increase over the 464 hp and 445 lb-ft in the standard ATS-V, which uses a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6. Motor Trend says the ATS-V+ will come to market with an eight-speed automatic transmission, as well as the seven-speed manual 'box from the Corvette. A dual-clutch transmission will come to market later. Of course, we'll believe it when we see it. But an LS7-powered ATS-V sure sounds like a great package to us. Here's hoping.
Cadillac Elmiraj Concept slinks in Leno's Garage
Wed, 28 Aug 2013Jay Leno's Garage has moved to Pebble Beach for the week. This time around, the affable comedian is taking a look at the Cadillac Elmiraj Concept that debuted during the Monterey car week, and is talking to General Motors vice president of global design, Ed Welburn.
There's plenty of reminiscing about what concept cars were like when these two were kids, before a fairly deep dive into the striking Elmiraj Concept itself. Welburn shares a few anecdotes about the design process behind the two-door concept, including how his designers changed his mind on the grille design.
After bringing up the Cimarron, Leno makes a solid point that the Elmiraj would be a solid production car that could even spawn a four-door variant. We couldn't agree more. Take a look below for the full video from Jay Leno's Garage.
