CAR HISTORY:
This car came with no documentation. All the information and history for the car is what I was told by the previous owner. The extent of his video and picture documentation was enough for me. I'm a car guy. I purchased this car completely impetuously this past June with the intent of just keeping it for hte summer. Always wanted one. Unfortunately I live in New York City and quickly realized that storing and dealing with a 20 foot car was going to suck all the joy out if its ownership. I've put about 1,000 miles on the car. It has been sitting garaged in New Jersey since late September. Originally I wanted to hang on to it until 2016 when it would be a 40 year anniversary, but it's just too much of a hassle. The follks who've been letting me store the car, sold their house, and it's just become too much of a pain in the a**. The following is the history of the car as told to me by the previous owner. This car was purchased new in
a dealership in Ft. Myers Florida in 1975. In 1988 the car was sold to
the second owner In Garfield, New Jersey. It was utilized until early 1994
and it was parked in storage until 1998 when it was purchased by the third
and previous registered owner, a member of the North Jersey Cadillac Club (sticker still on car). The car at that point was in need of some refreshing. In
1999-2000 It was restored with new paint (oem color, Calumet Cream), and it was brought up to
driving conditions. New fluids, wires, plugs etc. It was registered and
kept in a garage in the owners home. Since 2003 the car has had limited use and has largely been garaged by the owner at his house. In preparation for getting the car ready for sale, the previous owner, put a new top
on the car and fixed a few minor electrical glitches. The car
is ALL ORIGINAL. I have not replaced anything besides the top, engine oil,
and brakes (rear). It starts runs and drives very well!! Like a Cadillac should. The miles on the car read 13,468.
Ok, so that's from the previous owner, and this is from me. I do not believe the car is 13000 miles. It only has a 5 digit odometer, which reads 13,468, but i believe its actually 113,468. I believe that the vast majority of the '76 Eldorado Convertibles for sale on EBay are 100,000+ miles cars and not the super low mileage cars their owners misrepresent them to be. If that was the case it would seem that all 14,000 convertibles made in '76, were all immediately put away and never driven. I believe the odometer has not been tempered with or that it has rolled over more than once. In addition to the work done by the owner, i have relocated and rewired the convertible switch, replaced the convertible motor and replaced the muffler. Other than that the car is good to go. The 1,000 or so miles that I've put on it this summer were exclusively highway miles. I took it on a 350 mile round trip. The car ran like a champ and cruised at 75-80 effortlessly. I also had a chance to take the car on a private race track. Hey when do you get a chance to take a 76 Caddy on a 9 turn, banked, 1.5 mile track? I figured I had this chance and took it. Video shows car in action. I was incredibly surprised as to the responsiveness of the steering and how well this boat cornered You can see 100+ photos (taken by previous owner) and 3 videos of the car. The first video is the car on the race track. The other two were video provided by the previous owner. The previous owner took incredible care to document the car and, to be honest, did a much better job than i could have. Thats why I used his pictures, videos and description.

The car is very clean and quite nice for its age. The interior is
complete and is ALL original, with the original parts buttons,
leather, carpets and radio. The carpets and panels are all intact. All of the
glass is original and in great condition. The car does show its age a bit in
the leather, (has faded a bit, and look old. see pictures) but I believe can be reconditioned with a little elbow grease and Leather Honey. This car has a new convertible top, new convertible motor, recent oil, coolant and brake fluids, new rear brakes
(calipers), new filters. This car starts, runs and drives GREAT. It is very
smooth and quiet. The car idles smoothly,
has a new muffler, and the carburetor has been tuned. The
transmission shifts well, tires are in excellent condition, the
A/C blows but needs to be charged. The AC has been converted to 134A Refrigerant. The windows all
work however they need to be adjusted (not sure how to do this) the rear
windows especially. The AM/FM stereo system works well!! It is OEM and automatic search functions work. The heat works great. The Power Seats motor works (you can hear it) but does not move the seat front and back. I'm 6 feet, and its perfect for me. The
interior lights are 100%, The windshield wipers and window washers work
well, but the wipers need to be replaced. The speedometer and all of the warning lamps are also up to par. The
floor pans and undercarriage is SOLID. Under the hood, it looks good, someone
painted a few things (i.e the inner fender wells, fire wall and radiator
support. The hood liner is OEM and everything is good but does show
some age. This car also has a new battery. The chrome looks
great, has only one spot where it could use attention (see pictures). The lights
and all electronics work. The trunk is self closing and it works. It has
all of the jacks and spare tire with covers. Its a complete car. This car is
NOT museum quality, but it is a bargain at the reserve price which I WILL NOT
disclose. It is Ready to be driven and put on the road. YOU WILL NOT BE
DISAPPOINTED..

Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!) The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report. While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.

The Detroit Auto Show clearly has its swagger back, and the 2015 edition will be a veritable feast for the enthusiast senses. We're talking serious performance, and it will be exhibited in a variety of forms. Sports cars. Supercars. Muscle-bound luxury cars. They're all set for splashy debuts in January in the Motor City. It's another signpost that companies have recovered from the global economic crisis that gripped the industry from 2008-09. For a while, automakers played it safe at Detroit and other shows. Environmentally friendly cars were important, especially for General Motors and Chrysler that were living on loans from Uncle Sam. Ford, Toyota and other companies generally focused on their best-selling or core models. With a few notable exceptions, recent auto shows have been a bit more buttoned-down than in the past. Boring probably isn't the right word, but austerity has been reality. That's changing. Car companies are making money. Sales are up. Aside from the many nagging recalls – and they are notable – the industry now has the time and energy to make performance cars a priority. That will be offered in hard evidence in Detroit. A year from now when we look back at this auto show, we'll sum it up with one word: Horsepower. But make no mistake, this isn't frivolous. Sports and luxury cars are expensive. They're profitable. They boost images and highlight strengths. With that in mind, here are five significant performance-oriented reveals to watch for when the show kicks off in less than two weeks. 2016 Acura NSX Acura's reborn NSX is a strong bet to earn plenty of votes for our Editors' Choice awards. It's one of the most anticipated – and strung-out – reveals of the year. Think back: we actually saw an NSX concept at the 2012 Detroit show, and Acura has spent the last three years teasing the car in a variety of ways. The slow burn, however, means we know a lot about the NSX. It's will use a mid-mounted twin-turbo hybrid powertrain and run with all-wheel drive. It will also wear an innovative zirconium e-coat paint, a new paint process that Honda says is more environmentally friendly. Honda has also said it will build the new NSX in Ohio, where a large part of the car's development work has been done. The original NSX was produced from 1990-2005 and helped establish Acura's performance credentials in the United States. It was a landmark car and a shot across the bow of Ferrari, Lamborghini and others.

The two big American luxury brands of Cadillac and Lincoln are on surprisingly similar paths at the moment with both divisions hoping to redefine themselves and grow popularity. They're still early in the process with no clear winner yet, but things might actually be looking up for Lincoln's latest model, according to a monthly sales analysis from The Motley Fool. It seems, at least early on, that the new MKC crossover might be taking a bite out of the Cadillac SRX's growth. The MKC launched just a few months ago and has been getting a big marketing push from a series of oft-mocked ads starring the smooth-talking Matthew McConaughey. The luxury CUV has been the popular, new kid on the block with growing sales since its introduction. While smaller than the SRX, the Lincoln starts at a lower price and offers better fuel economy. Through June, the SRX performed well with sales up over 20 percent on average through June, according to The Motley Fool. However, July and August saw things plummet with year-over-year drops of 7 percent and 37 percent, respectively. It still far outsold the MKC in terms of actual units in a given month, but the Caddy's continued growth has appeared to stagnate.
