Here it is.....Big American Iron Offered at NO RESERVE !!!

I'm starting it off with the price the same year as the car, $1971.

1971 Cadillac Eldorado currently with 79,987 actual miles. The title shows 70,613 actual miles on 11/28/2003

It started to rain just as I took the pictures.  I moved indoors and finished.  Please excuse the raindrops!

I'm guessing it will sell for a little over $1 a pound, but time will tell. At the end of the auction, the winning bidder will be the new owner.

Offered at "NO RESERVE" is a big and long piece of American history.  This is
the first year of this body style and first year for fender skirts.  One of 6800
made, and you can be the proud owner if you're the high bidder.  Advertised at
almost 5000 pounds and just under 20 feet long, it has a 8.2 liter/500 cubic
inch engine rated at 365 horsepower and 535 ft. pounds of torque.

 It was almost $8000 42 years ago...very
expensive for the day.

The car was originally Adriatic Turquoise Metallic with Carmine interior.

I know--- blue with a red interior sounds strange, but it was the 70's.  Anything was possible! I see why someone painted it red.

Speaking of that, Someone should paint it again. It looks better in photos than real life.

Whether you go back to it's original color, or do the red again, it's time for another respray

This Cadillac was driven regularly, just not very far, up until last year.  It
was parked due to having a bad water pump, and sat for a little over a year.

I put a new one on, and it starts well, runs great without any weird noises, and would be a
great cruiser for people who love the big drop top land yachts of the 70's.

The good:  Low mileage, great running engine and smooth shifting transmission,
working power windows and power top, and a solid body that is well worth
restoring.  The top is good, and the glass back window is in place and doesn't leak.

It has a new stereo that sounds amazingly well, the lights and wipers work, and the trunk light works.

It has tilt/telescopic wheel, and it's 2 1/2 tons of
awesomeness. The original stereo is in the trunk.  I'm unsure if it works.

The bad:  The interior has the normal leather cracks, but not all ripped up.
The door panels and dash are more than presentable, and the carpet and floor
mats are good.

It's missing a right front bumper guard and the AC compressor and hoses.  Everything else is there.

The paint is decent, with the trunk lid being the worst.  There
is a little rust on the bottom of the right rear quarter panel behind the rear
wheel, and a little behind the left rear wheel.

Generally speaking, there's a lot of steel there that is excellent.

It needs to be driven.  Sitting didn't do it any good.  It starts easily and idles well. The brakes are a little
sticky, but I'm sure they will free up with some use.  It's not registered, so I
just drive it around the block.  I do have a clean, clear Florida title, ready
to be handed over to the winning bidder.

PLEASE...ask questions, look at the pictures, get permission from whomever you
need, and bid to win.  I reserve the right to end the auction early in the event
someone makes me an offer I can't refuse.  I don't know what that number is, so
if you're a serious buyer, make your offer and let's see what happens.

The car is located in Port Charlotte, Florida, about 90 miles south of Tampa.  I
can assist with shipping if you need help, but the transporation cost is on the
buyer.

Cadillac prices 410-hp XTS Vsport from $63,020*

Mon, 24 Jun 2013

Cadillac has officially released pricing for the 2014 XTS Vsport. Buyers can expect to pay $63,020 for the fleet four-door, including destination and handling fees. That kind of coin will snag you a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 good for 410 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. As you likely already know, engineers have done a lot more than simply bolt a pair of turbos onto the company's tried and true naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6. The engine uses an all-new block, strengthened connecting rods and domed aluminum pistons and is fed through a revised direct-injection fuel system. Combined, the tweaks allow the V6 to suck down 12 psi of boost.
The price tag puts the 2014 Cadillac XTS Vsport well under potential (if ambitious) competitors like the Audi S6 at $71,900, plus destination fees. A base BMW 550i will set you back $62,700, excluding destination charges, but throwing options at the German sedan will quickly see that number climb higher. You can check out the full press release below for more information.

Cadillac ELR update delayed over autonomous drive systems issues

Fri, Nov 28 2014

Rumors had been circulating that the 2016 Cadillac ELR would bow in Los Angeles recently, featuring, in Cadillac's own words, "engineering enhancements." The rumors and that quote are as far as it got – the updated ELR pulled a no-show in LA, and no one outside of the brand appears to know when it will appear. GM Inside News says its sources at Cadillac pinned the ELR's absence on some autonomous driving features not being ready to reveal. According to GMI, Cadillac insiders say the upgraded ELR will be a "highly autonomous vehicle," and the company needs more time to gets its systems polished. The site says "it's not unreasonable to assume that ELR will be [the] vehicle" that gets Cadillac's Super Cruise technology, but that seems a lot more involved than "engineering enhancements," and in September Cadillac said we'd see it sometime in the next two years. It's possible the wait for the 2016 ELR and its secrets might only be a couple of months: the next-generation Chevrolet Volt, which shares a platform with the ELR and whose engineering updates we know quite a bit about, is scheduled to appear at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show in January.

2016 Cadillac CTS-V arrives with 640 hp, 200-mph top speed

Mon, Dec 22 2014

Ask the company's executive team, and they'll tell you "this is the maximum Cadillac V-Series." It's the 2016 CTS-V sedan, and it packs the very best of what's possible at Cadillac. And the company says it doesn't think "anyone thought it was possible that we could push [the CTS-V] this far." The big news is what's underhood: General Motors' supercharged, 6.2-liter LT4 V8, tuned to 640 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. That's 10 hp and 20 lb-ft less than the monstrous Corvette Z06, and the result is the most powerful car Cadillac has ever produced. With rear-wheel drive, launch control and the eight-speed automatic transmission (sorry, folks – no more manual transmission here), Cadillac says the 2016 CTS-V will sprint to 60 miles per hour in just 3.7 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 200 miles per hour. Naturally, Cadillac's engineers say they have tuned the CTS-V to ensure it can put all that power to the ground with the most precision and poise possible. That starts with the excellent Magnetic Ride Control active damping system (with a claimed 40-percent increase in responsiveness)and a 25-percent increase in structural stiffness that should improve overall handling and steering. What's more, a high-performance Brembo brake package comes standard, as do 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in seriously sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that will reportedly offer 1g in lateral acceleration. Cadillac also says that all changes to the bodywork are functional. That includes a carbon-fiber hood, front splitter, rear spoiler and diffuser that are super light and aid with aerodynamics and weight reduction – all of which will be available as an optional package for folks who like the exposed carbon look. Inside, it's more of what we're used to on lesser CTS models, but there's newly optional carbon fiber trim, microfiber suede upholstery trim, and some seriously awesome Recaro seats. Additionally, as we exclusively reported earlier, Cadillac will offer GM's Performance Data Recorder in the CTS-V. It records high-definition video with data overlays that's sharable via social media. Beyond that, Cadillac will offer the usual smattering of tech goodies, including Siri Eyes Free, OnStar with 4G LTE, CUE infotainment with navigation and Bose audio. The CTS-V will launch later next year, following the debut of the smaller ATS-V. In the meantime, the sedan will officially bow at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show in just a few weeks.
