See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"There are a few small scratches and nicks on the trunk and left tail fin. The interior needs some attention-- front seat has a crack on the driver's side, and some of the interior paneling and rubber seals are cracked. The casing is missing from one of the interior lights. Be forewarned: this car does not have seatbelts as these were not required back in 1959."

V8 motor of course, power seat, power windows, seek-and-scan radio, automatic transmission, white-walled tires.  The windows are all good, free of cracks.  Apart from the few scratches mentioned above, the exterior is covered with a beautiful coat of paint in the original white, it really gleams.  The chrome is in good shape, with very little pitting. There is no rust on it anymore-- I never drive it on salted roads, and the undercarriage is covered with rust-proofing.  The motor runs fine, and I've only just installed a new battery.

This car belonged to my father, and he loved it.  When it passed to me I gave it a touch-up, new coat of paint and replaced some rusted parts.  It's great fun to drive around town because it just seems to make everybody smile.  But it's too big for me; I have no convenient place to keep it, so I'd like to find a good home for it with someone who can appreciate vintage 1950s American engineering.

I'll deliver it myself, free of charge, to any buyer within a 500-mile radius of Burlington, Vermont.  There will be a 50 cent per mile charge for each mile beyond 500, unless you want to come and pick it up yourself.  A buyer overseas would be responsible for shipping from the port of Boston, New York, or Montreal.  I'll accept PayPal, or money order upon delivery.

Next-gen Cadillac CTS-Vs caught in parking lot

Thu, 10 Jan 2013

A pair of camouflaged Cadillac CTS prototypes were spotted, and thankfully photographed, outside a grocery store in Southern California. From the image above - there are plenty more if you click over to TotalCarScore.com - it appears these could be testers for the 2014 CTS-V, but that is just speculation. We've seen the obvious "V" motif in the grille before, and there's what could be another "V" in the design of the side mirrors.
The hood on the car in the background appears to include two bulges, but the single shot that affords a tiny peek under the hood shows reveals only the airbox. Plenty of rumors, and the sight of an engine cover inscribed with the words "Twin Turbo," have caused people to wonder if a twin-turbo V6 will live under the production car's hood instead of the V8 currently there. In back, instead of the round tailpipes found outboard on all the CTS sedans, there's a pair of integrated tips in a parallelogram shape. A new shifter with contrasting stitching was spied in the cabin.
If predictions hold up it will arrive later this year. When it does, expect the body underneath all that camo to be softer on the eye compared to the current car - less science and more art. For now, hit the link to see more spy shots of what's coming.

Five awesome Lego car creations

Thu, 23 Oct 2014

Lego cars are among our favorite toys. They're fun for play, and if built properly, great to display. With that in mind, we've crafted a list of some of the best creations we've seen. Some are on sale now, while others are merely the work of fanciful enthusiasts. There are even a couple that you definitely cannot buy (we'll explain).
Our choices are diverse, including everything from a diminutive 1969 Chevy Corvette to a fullsize Ferrari Formula One racecar. These are just five projects that caught our eye - there are many more out there - so if you don't see your favorite Lego car on the list (or if you have your own creation), please tell us about it, in Comments.

GM recalls 3.6 million vehicles for airbag-software problems

Fri, Sep 9 2016

The Basics: General Motors is recalling 3.64 million vehicles across its lineup for an airbag-related issue. The recall covers the 2014-2015 Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet SS, and Spark EV; 2014-2017 Chevrolet Corvette, Trax, Caprice PPV, Silverado 1500, Buick Encore, and GMC Sierra 1500; and 2015-2017 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado HD, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Sierra HD, Cadillac Escalade, and Escalade ESV. The Problem: Affected vehicles have a sensing and diagnostic module that controls the airbags and seat-belt pretensioners. The software it uses has a defect that can prompt the module to run a diagnostic test under specific driving conditions, which will also deactivate the front airbags and pretensioners. This means that it would be possible for those safety systems to not activate in a crash, potentially leading to injury or death. Injuries/Deaths: General Motors began an investigation that led to the recall after a 2014 Silverado was involved in a crash in which the airbags did not deploy. No information was given as to injuries or deaths. The Fix: Owners can bring their vehicles to a local General Motors dealer where a software update will be installed to fix the issue. The fix will be free of charge. If you own one: General Motors will contact owners of affected cars, and owners can check whether their vehicles are affected by visiting entering their vehicle identification numbers at either the GM Owner Center website or the NHTSA website. Owners can then schedule a time to have the update installed. Related Video:
