We bought this Cadillac with the odometer reading the mileage shown, and the title shows it as actual, and that’s the way we’re selling it. We feel that the miles may not be correct, but it’s not up to us to decide. We are selling it with actual miles, the same way we bought it. This was a barn find. The gentleman who owned it used it as a parade vehicle in the 80’s. Then, after he passed away, it sat for many, many years in the garage. His grandson, who inherited the car, who we bought it from, tuned it up two years ago and then found that the gas tank was leaking. He bought a replacement that is currently in the trunk, and it needs to be installed. The straps, hoses, and tank are all ready to be installed. We are a wholesale dealer and purchased the car and decided we didn’t want to send it to a shop and start spending money on belts, hoses, etc., and end up with a $1,000 bill. So, what we did is had the car delivered to us, then bought a battery and installed it. With a little starting fluid, it started right up and sounded good. We added brake fluid and now the brakes seem to work properly. All four windows work. The power top works. It needs for someone to buy it, have the tank installed, and have someone give a thorough once over before it can be driven every day. We did not just want to put the tank on without having the entire car serviced for safety. The engine sounds great and I’m sure the transmission will shift fine. The underneath could use a sandblasting and undercoating, but is in very good shape for 45 years old. We believe the car may have been repainted because we don’t believe sky blue was a factory color in 1969. The top is in great shape, as is the interior. With just a little bit of work, this car will make a great driver for some lucky person. The tires on it are in good shape, as well. We guarantee you can hear the car run if you want to come out and check it before the auction ends. The body on the car really does photograph very well. I’m sure that once the car is back on the road, you’ll get a lot of looks going up and down the avenue. If someone buys this car to restore to new condition, that will be their choice, but it can be done. We just like it a lot and want to be as straight-forward and honest as possible. The new owner will get a great piece of American history that they can enjoy for many years to come. All the chrome on the car is very solid. There is a box of extra parts that come with it, including two new shocks. We invite all interested parties to come out and see it in person before bidding. It’s definitely worth looking at if you’re serious about getting a classic Cadillac!

The car must be paid for within 48 hours after the end of the auction in cash or by wire transfer!!

This is an as-is vehicle, which means that once you buy it, you own it with all faults (known or unknown).

This is a no-reserve auction, which means that the last highest bidder when the auction is over will win the car. Every time you bid on the car keep in mind that you have an opportunity to be the owner, so your bid means something. We encourage all bidders to stop out, personally examine the car and drive it for themselves. If you can’t personally make it out to check out this vehicle, simply find a local mechanic to look at the vehicle and give you a personal report on the condition. We need the car paid for within 48 hours, as stated above, either by cash or wire transfer, after the auction is over. We would like the car picked up from our lot within 7 days of auction ending. There will be a $100 paperwork fee added on to the final sale price of the vehicle. If you need a 30-day tag, it’s $18.50. We handle the transfer of the title. We will also have to collect the tax for your county if you live in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina or Washington. We will not pay any shipping fees, but we would be glad to assist your shipper in picking up your vehicle. If you have any questions, call Stan at 216-598-7011. Good luck bidding!

May 2016: FCA wins, Ford and GM stumble on weak car volumes

Wed, Jun 1 2016

The May 2016 sales numbers are in, and it looks as though FCA is getting some vindication for boldly cancelling two slow-selling car models. Meanwhile, Ford saw overall sales dip and GM's May volume took a big dive versus the same month in 2015. While Marchionne's decision to axe the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Dart has drawn criticism as being short-sighted, it's working for FCA so far. Although the Dart and 200 aren't out of production yet and no capacity has been shifted to crossover or trucks, May's numbers show that the emphasis on Jeep and Ram models makes sense right now. FCA's US sales rose 1 percent last month compared to May 2015, putting the year-to-date total at 955,186 vehicles, an increase of 6 percent compared to the same period last year. Standouts included the Jeep Renegade, Compass, and Patriot, and the Fiat 500X. Ram pickup sales were down 3 percent. And your fun fact is that Alfa Romeo sales were up precisely 10 percent, for a total of 44 4Cs sold versus 40 in the same month last year. At FoMoCo, the Ford brand took a hit to the tune of 6.4 percent from May 2015 to 2016, registering 226,190 sales last month. Lincoln showed improvement on its modest numbers, going from 9,174 to 9,807, a 6.9 percent increase. Overall, Ford was down 5.9 percent for the month to 235,997; despite the slump, year-to-date total Ford sales are up 4.2 percent to 1,112,939. Strong sellers included Escape, Expedition, F-Series, and Transit - big stuff. Most small and/or efficient models (Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, C-Max) saw sales slides. Fusion sales were also down, likely due to effects of model changeover to the freshened 2017 model. Ford has promised four new crossovers and SUVs by 2020 and if things keep trending this way the company will be able to sell them, but things could change in the next four years. GM saw the worst of it for domestic brands. Retail and fleet sales were down for each of the four divisions, with the May 2016 total dropping 18 percent to 240,450 vehicles. GM's year-to-date sales are down 5.0 percent in 2016 to 1,183,705. Both the Sierra and Silverado were down significantly, and the majority of Chevy, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac nameplates saw sales decreases, with both small cars and larger utilities included. Not even big stuff could help GM this month, it seems. We'll have more on the rest of the industry's May sales as those figures trickle in.

GM recalling Cadillac ATS, XTS, Chevy Impala over faulty brake lamps

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

General Motors has issued a recall covering 1,627 sedans over faulty brake lamps. Both the 2013 Cadillac ATS and XTS are affected by this problem, as is the 2014 Chevrolet Impala.
According to an official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, "the brake lamps may intermittently flash without the brakes being applied and the cruise control may disengage" on these vehicles. The report does not state that the brakes themselves are faulty, but rather that "if the brake lamps flash when the vehicle is not slowing, a following driver may not adjust vehicle speed when the vehicle is in fact braking."
This marks the first recall for the 2013 Cadillac ATS, as well as the recently introduced 2014 Chevy Impala. In late 2012, over 12,000 Cadillac XTS models were recalled due to a head restraint issue.

2014 Cadillac XTS Vsport

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

Not long after bombing around the Milford Road Course in the new CTS Vsport, Cadillac invited me to try out its other new-for-2014 Vsport model: the XTS. And despite using the same twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 from the CTS, the Vsport package takes on a whole new meaning here in Cadillac's softer flagship.
In the CTS, this trim perfectly bridges the gap between the standard models and the hardcore CTS-V, and is focused on being the best-driving version of the range without a standalone V badge. The XTS, however, has no proper V model, so the Vsport becomes the new range-topper for that line by default. But unlike the CTS Vsport, which uses rear-wheel-drive architecture and is focused on driving dynamics above all, the XTS is geared toward a much different customer.
The entire XTS experience is far more concerned with plush comfort than handling prowess, and while this Vsport model certainly ups the ante with more power and some mild suspension and steering tweaks, it's not exactly what we'd call a particularly engaging experience. But that doesn't mean it isn't good.
