Selling my 69 Coupe. Has not run in two years, was running when parked. Body is straight with no dents. Has rust hole near back window where vinyl top was, ( see pics). Cadillac logo losing its wreath?
Tue, 23 Jul 2013The easily recognizable Cadillac logo dates back to the company's founding in the early 1900s, but over the last 110 years, there has been an on-again, off-again love affair with the wreath surrounding the crest. Cadillac's current badge design has used the wreath since the 1980s, but Automotive News is reporting that GM's luxury division is planning to ditch the laurel wreath for a cleaner-looking logo.
The new logo could make its debut as early as next month on a new concept car that will be revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, although the report also says that it might be until 2015 before it makes its way to a production car. Even then, it doesn't like anything has been finalized yet, as the article also says that plans could still change.
As Cadillac looks to improve its global presence as a luxury automaker, the report says that a simpler logo could make it easier for designers to incorporate the badge onto the car - either in the grille or above the grille (possibly in a fashion similar to Mercedes-Benz). 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe prepares to fight BMW 4 Series
Tue, 14 Jan 2014Cadillac introduced its new ATS Coupe at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show today, bringing customers an alternative to the growing range of sport luxury coupes typified by the BMW 4 Series, Audi A5 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe.
The ATS Coupe, as a slightly more premium offering, ditches the wheezy 2.5-liter engine found in the basic ATS Sedan, but retains the four-door's 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder and 3.6-liter V6. That four-pot turbo benefits from a fettling that has increased torque from 260 pound-feet to 295, although its peak is only available from 3,000 rpm to 4,600 rpm, unlike in the sedan, where peak twist arrives at just 1,700 rpm and sticks around until 5,500 rpm.
Power can be channeled to either the rear or all four wheels by the owner's choice of a Tremec six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. According to Cadillac, the new Coupe can get to 60 in 5.6 seconds when fitted with the 2.0-liter turbo.
