 Greetings,

You are bidding on a 1982 Cadillac Sedan DeVille with 21,700 original miles. This has been a one family owned car since it was bought new from the Cadillac Dealer here in North Central Ohio. This car was garage kept, never saw snow and seldom saw rain. The story goes that it was only driven to church and to special occasions that required the status of showing up in style, and this car certainly fits the bill. Everything works to the best of my knowledge, and the a/c still blows cold. The interior is spotless, with no stains, marks, rips, tears or wear showing in the seats, carpet or door panels. It looks new inside.

The car came standard with power windows, power locks, power 60/40 seats with center armrests both front and back, power brakes, cruise control, tilt & telescoping steering wheel, am/fm cassette, automatic climate control, and headlights, adjustable mirrors, Delayed wipers, and many other options available at the time.

The outside is in the same condition, with the chrome shining like new, and the paint needing nothing but a touch-up to take care of a scratch or two. The fender fillers are in need of replacement as all of these old cars do. But, I have obtained new ones, and painted them to match. They just need to be put on. You'll want to do something to the old girl, so I left these to the new owner. I will also provide extra matching paint for any mishaps in the future.

The car runs well, given the fact that it wasn't driven much since 2005. The check engine light flutters on and off at a idle, but goes out quickly under power. I believe it will clear itself of this problem the more it is driven. The tires are the originals, but show good tread. It is nice to open a hood of a car this old and find it to be just as nice as the rest of the vehicle. Nothing under the hood shows of excessive wear and tear. It is mileage appropriate.

The title is clean, it is NOT a salvage title, and the mileage stated on the title is State of Ohio correct. The title is marked with a mileage discrepancy only because when it was transferred from the parents to the daughter during the settling of the families estate, they guessed at the mileage instead of looking to make sure of what it actually was. They guessed higher than the original miles on the car, and the old title reflected that. I have a copy of the old title to accompany the new one for anyone wishing to verify it, and the new title reflects the actual mileage on the vehicle.

In closing, this car is one that time has been good too. It was well maintained and kept looking good for the past thirty plus years. You can go to car shows and look at the ones that have been restored and look at the ones that are all original and show only few miles. It is hard to beat getting a piece of history that is as nice today as it was new from the factory. Even the floor mats are in great if not like new shape. I would love to keep this car myself, and hold on to it for another twenty years. It is hard telling what a Cadillac of this condition will be worth in its fifties. But, I do need to find this car the right new owner. One that appreciates a classic and gives it the respect it deserves.

Please feel free to call with any questions, or concerns. I want you to be happy with you purchase.

2016 Cadillac CT6 has arrived

Wed, Apr 1 2015

We have known for a while that the 2015 New York Auto Show would mark the debut of Cadillac's latest flagship model. But after months of waiting as Caddy slowly revealed details, the 2016 Cadillac CT6 has finally arrived. The sedan is a technological tour de force for the brand and inaugurates a long list of new technologies. The CT6 will begin production at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly plant in late 2015 and will go on sale with three engine options. Caddy won't release final figures yet, but based on preliminary numbers, we know the base 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder will make 265 horsepower. Stepping up to the newly revised 3.6-liter V6 will net buyers an estimated 335 hp, and finally there will be the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with an output of around 400 hp. All of these engines will be mated to eight-speed automatic transmissions, and six-cylinder models will get standard all-wheel drive that will be able to constantly vary the power sent to the front wheels. Carrying those powertrains is the new, aluminum-intensive Omega architecture. In addition to the lightweight metal making up the platform, the entire exterior also uses it to provide an estimated curb weight of less than 3,700 pounds. The decision to shed mass makes the CT6 a featherweight in its class – for comparison, the lightest, six-cylinder Audi A8 weighs 4,365 pounds. The sedan rides on a 122.4-inch wheelbase and is 204 inches long. That makes the Cadillac about 1.3 inches shorter than the smallest BMW 7 Series, but the Caddy is projected to tip the scales at less than both the big Bimmer and even the 5 Series, too. Cadillac wants the CT6 to be a luxury sedan that drivers can enjoy. In addition to the low weight, there's an available Active Chassis System throughout the range with rear-wheel steering and Magnetic Ride Control. When combined with the all-wheel-drive system, it means every corner of the car is both driving and steering the vehicle. Inside, the CT6 offers a ton of tech and luxury. Drivers are held in massaging, leather seats, and rear passengers also get adjustable chairs that are heated and cooled. Quad-zone climate controls keep everyone comfortable. Plus, in addition to the 34-speaker Bose audio system and streaming rearview mirror, there are features like a 10.2-inch CUE infotainment system with a capacitive touchscreen and console-mounted touchpad. The display also shows a 360-degree view outside and can even record video when the security system is activated.

GM's Mark Reuss explains why a performance Cadillac ELR-V won't happen

Tue, Mar 18 2014

Hey, I've got enough things to worry about. That's one interpretation of General Motors executive vice president Mark Reuss' response to a question posed by Driving the Nation about the recently-introduced Cadillac ELR plug-in hybrid. Reuss said GM will "definitely expand the tuning envelope" for the ELR. The question was whether GM would consider adding magnetic ride control to the quite-powerful-for-a-plug-in Caddy, creating an "ELR-V" model in the process. Reuss' non-answer: "Good question, can't really answer that," but then elaborated that magnetic ride control uses up "a lot" of power otherwise spoken for in terms of providing the longest electric-only range possible. Interestingly, he did add that GM will "definitely expand the tuning envelope" for the ELR, as you can see in the video below. With the model retailing for north of $75,000, fewer than 60 percent of US Cadillac dealers were carrying the ELR as of last month and just 99 ELRs were sold during the first two months of the year. In an effort to sell more vehicles, GM said in January that it would offer the ELR for a 39-month lease for $699 a month for qualified lessees and with a $5,999 down-payment required. Autoblog's First Drive impressions of the ELR can be found here.

2014 Cadillac ELR

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

Well, this is awkward.
A few years ago, Audi Of America's boss Johan de Nysschen went on record describing the Chevrolet Volt as "a car for idiots." Fast-forward to earlier this summer, and the well-regarded executive suddenly found himself in a new office with new business cards bearing the title: President, Cadillac. That means that among other challenges, de Nysschen is now tasked with selling the ELR, a car that is, at its core, a Volt in a sportier, less utile frock wearing a price tag that's twice as expensive.
Frankly, it's not a prospect we imagine the South African executive and recent Infiniti boss relishes. Just about nobody is buying the ELR - Cadillac has sold but 774 examples of its plug-in hybrid coupe this year and it presently has an almost a 200-day supply according to Automotive News. What's more, those numbers actually represent big improvements over just a few months ago, before GM started heaping on the incentives. The cynic in us says that the bad news for De Nysschen is that he's got a borderline sales-proof car in his new corporate garage. The good news? Cadillac customers apparently aren't idiots.
