If you have been looking for a beautiful older Cadillac Deville then you are going to fall in love with my 1993 Deville with only 68k 1-owner Florida miles! This car looks almost like it was caught in a time warp and hasn't aged. It is beautiful inside and out and what a color, white on white on white! It was owned by an older gentleman here in Cape Coral Florida since new and traded in at our Chevy dealership. It has been garaged and babied it's whole life and it shows. I have never seen a nicer one this age yet. It received a great Autocheck score of 46 points out of an average rating of between 15-36 so you know it has a great history. In 2009 he ran into something and the front bumper was dented and fixed well and you can't tell. These Deville's are getting harder and harder to find in this shape and being the last year of this body style made and a true 1-owner Florida car with only 68k miles is a great find. And being a Florida car there is NO rust and even the underside is still nice and clean, you won't see that on any northern vehicle. Look at those pictures! The exterior looks wonderful with a nice deep shine and no dents, scrapes, fade or rust. All the trim is in place and in great shape, all the chrome, bumper inserts and trim. It even has the original painted on pinstripe! The canvas top looks near new with no issues and the factory aluminum wheels looks great as well with no corrosion and there are BRAND new tires that I just had put on! There is also a E&G Classic's gold grill for a classy look. Again, look at those pictures, the white on white on white is a very sharp combination. The interior is just as clean with no stains, rips odors and this is a non- smoker's car so it is very fresh inside. There are no cracks on the dash or door panels and no fade, again, garaged. The leather seats look great both front and rear and they are very comfortable and all the power works on them. The leather steering wheel too shows no wear. All the power options work great including the air conditioning, the dash displays and even the factory cassette stereo is there and it works! What a pleasure to drive, so smooth and quiet! The peppy 4,9 V-8 runs smooth as silk and is nice and quiet. The brakes are smooth as is the transmission and suspension with no shakes or rattles and again there are BRAND new tires. It's not a BRAND new car but I can't imagine finding a nicer one out there and it is so nice you truly feel like you are back in 1993, pretty cool. I have the factory books, a clean Florida title and two keys. Look it over good and once you see and take it for a spin around the block you are sure to fall in love. I have great feedback so you can be sure that this vehicle will be just as nice as I am stating. DETROIT — Sales of new vehicles in the U.S. rose slightly in 2018, defying predictions and highlighting a strong economy. Automakers reported an increase of 0.3 percent over a year ago to 17.27 million vehicles. The increase came despite rising interest rates, a volatile stock market, and rising car and truck prices that pushed some buyers out of the new-vehicle market. Industry analysts and automakers said strong economic fundamentals pushed up sales and should keep them near historic highs in 2019. "Economic conditions in the U.S. are favorable and should continue to be supportive of vehicle sales at or around their current run rate," Ford Chief Economist Emily Kolinski Morris said after the company and other automakers announced their sales numbers Thursday. That auto sales remain near the 2016 record of 17.55 million is a testimonial to the strength of the economy, said Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analytics. The job market, he said, has created new employment, and wage growth has accelerated. "That's fundamental to selling anything," he said. "If there are lots of jobs and people are getting bigger paychecks, they will buy more." The unemployment rate is 3.7 percent, a 49-year low. The economy is thought to have grown close to 3 percent last year, its best performance in more than a decade. Consumers, the main driver of the economy, are spending freely. The Federal Reserve raised its key interest rate four times in 2018 but is only expected to raise it twice this year. Auto sales also were helped by low gasoline prices and rising home values, Zandi said. It all means that people are likely to keep buying new vehicles this year even as they grow more expensive. The Edmunds.com auto-pricing site estimates that the average new vehicle price hit a record $35,957 in December, about 2 percent higher than the previous year. It will be harder for automakers to keep the sales pace above 17 million because they have been enticing buyers for several years now with low-interest financing and other incentives, Zandi said. He predicts more deals in the coming year as job growth slows and credit tightens for higher-risk buyers. Edmunds, which provides content, including automotive tips and reviews, for distribution by The Associated Press, predicts that sales will drop this year to 16.9 million.

J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998

For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.
