I am selling my 1984 Caddy Deville which is white/white landau roof, and all red leather inside which is in excellent shape, a great ride and a looker as well! I get compliments all the time from people while I am stopped as well as while driving! I recently purchased it with 10,500 original miles on it in June and now it has 14,001 miles at the time of posting this ad - also I am the second owner of the car. The outside has no rust at all, the interior is near perfect (there are two slight tears in the driver's seat and the roof will eventually need the cloth replaced) and the paint and landau roof are in excellent condition. I have the missing piece spacer between the front wheel well and the left front bumper - actually I have a pair ready to be primed and painted. The paint is in excellent shape, the underneath of the car is in like new condition. The are a couple of slight body creases (done by previous owner) which are hardly noticeable but did not reach the metal. At the base of the rear license plate the plastic square is missing and a couple of cracks in the rear molding around the bumpers - I think its from age.
Other than that, the engine is strong, powerful, and quiet. There is a new battery, recently serviced and inspected, tires like new and trunk you could eat dinner out of. The radio works but the dial does not show the stations (it's only AM/FM) and when the radio is off the clock does not display and only one of the rear speakers work - fronts are good. I have the original gold keys plus two other regular sets of keys and owner's manual. There cold blowing A/C, power windows, seats and door locks - otherwise it's just a standard model.
I'm selling because it's really too big for me and I really don't want to be the one putting the miles on it as I will be traveling a lot from home to my college campus and to me that's not what this car deserves. If you're interested in a classic that is a real eye catcher -- let me know I would be happy to entertain ONLY serious buyers not lookers please.
I am pricing it to sell at $5,500 for a quick sale before the semester starts in three weeks so I can get another car - whomever wins will have to arrange for their own pickup of the car.

2016 Cadillac CTS-V arrives with 640 hp, 200-mph top speed
Mon, Dec 22 2014Ask the company's executive team, and they'll tell you "this is the maximum Cadillac V-Series." It's the 2016 CTS-V sedan, and it packs the very best of what's possible at Cadillac. And the company says it doesn't think "anyone thought it was possible that we could push [the CTS-V] this far." The big news is what's underhood: General Motors' supercharged, 6.2-liter LT4 V8, tuned to 640 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. That's 10 hp and 20 lb-ft less than the monstrous Corvette Z06, and the result is the most powerful car Cadillac has ever produced. With rear-wheel drive, launch control and the eight-speed automatic transmission (sorry, folks – no more manual transmission here), Cadillac says the 2016 CTS-V will sprint to 60 miles per hour in just 3.7 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 200 miles per hour. Naturally, Cadillac's engineers say they have tuned the CTS-V to ensure it can put all that power to the ground with the most precision and poise possible. That starts with the excellent Magnetic Ride Control active damping system (with a claimed 40-percent increase in responsiveness)and a 25-percent increase in structural stiffness that should improve overall handling and steering. What's more, a high-performance Brembo brake package comes standard, as do 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in seriously sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that will reportedly offer 1g in lateral acceleration. Cadillac also says that all changes to the bodywork are functional. That includes a carbon-fiber hood, front splitter, rear spoiler and diffuser that are super light and aid with aerodynamics and weight reduction – all of which will be available as an optional package for folks who like the exposed carbon look. Inside, it's more of what we're used to on lesser CTS models, but there's newly optional carbon fiber trim, microfiber suede upholstery trim, and some seriously awesome Recaro seats. Additionally, as we exclusively reported earlier, Cadillac will offer GM's Performance Data Recorder in the CTS-V. It records high-definition video with data overlays that's sharable via social media. Beyond that, Cadillac will offer the usual smattering of tech goodies, including Siri Eyes Free, OnStar with 4G LTE, CUE infotainment with navigation and Bose audio. The CTS-V will launch later next year, following the debut of the smaller ATS-V. In the meantime, the sedan will officially bow at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show in just a few weeks.
Cadillac sales chief fired over policy violation
Sun, 21 Jul 2013Amidst a good year for Cadillac, which is experiencing higher sales gains than any other US brand this year, the US sales chief has been fired over a policy violation, Automotive News reports.
The sales chief, Chase Hawkins, "has left effective immediately," GM spokesman David Caldwell told Automotive News. Caldwell went on to say that Hawkins' replacement would be chosen soon.
Hawkins became the US sales chief in June 2012, and before that was the regional sales director for Cadillac in the Northeast US, overseeing 168 dealerships.
Cadillac prepares to top its own 'Ring record with upcoming new CTS-V
Mon, 14 Jul 2014It was a big deal back in 2008 when the original Cadillac CTS-V clocked a lap time of 7:59 at the Nürburgring, making it the fastest sedan ever to lap the Nordschleife to that date. Not many four-doors have bested that time since - the list consisting pretty much only of the Porsche Panamera Turbo - but now hot hatches are lapping faster than that, so you can bet that the new one will manage an even better time.
Now we've spotted the upcoming new CTS-based performance sedan several times before undergoing testing in locations around the world, but this is the first time we've seen it at the Nürburgring, apparently using the Goodyear Dunlop test facility as its base of operations (and still wearing Michigan manufacturer plates, incidentally). Considering how well the outgoing CTS-V performed and how much further you can bet Cadillac will push the envelop this time around, a new sedan lap record is almost a certainty - and we can only hope for an all-out war between Europe's performance sedan power houses to ensue.
