HERE IS A 1982 CADILLAC HEARSE WITH A 6.0 ENGINE. THIS WAS THE LAST YEAR FOR THE 3 WAY LOADER. THE LOCKING MECHANISM  WORKS GREAT ON THE COFFIN TRAY. THE HEARSE WAS STORED FOR THE LAST 6 YEARS. I BOUGHT IT AND DROVE IT HOME ON A 8.5 HOUR TRIP HOME. I HAD NO PROBLEMS ON THE TRIP. ALL I CAN SAY IS WHEN YOU DRIVE THIS CAR EXPECT TO GET A LOT OF ATTENTION AND TURN HEADS. IT WAS ORGINALLY BLUE. THE FUNERAL HOME OWNER TWO-TONED THE HEARSE TO MATCH HIS OTHER HEARSE. I DO HAVE A CLEAR TITLE IN HAND.

I HAVE PUT NEW HOSES, BELTS, SPARK PLUGS, SPARK PLUG WIRES, NEW WIPER BLADES, NEW ALTENATOR AND A NEW BATTERY. IT HAS GOOD TIRES. THE INTERIOR LOOKS GREAT. THE POWER SEATS & WINDOWS WORK. THE VINYL ROOF IS IN GREAT CONDITION. THE CAR DRIVES GOOD AT 75 MPH.

THERE IS RUST ON THE BODY AND UNDERNEATH. I TRIED TO SHOW THE RUST IN THE PICTURES. THERE IS A LITTLE RUST ON THE BACK DOOR UNDER THE GLASS. THE RUST IS FIXABLE, BUT WILL BE A LITTLE EXPENSIVE IF DONE RIGHT. THERE IS A SMALL MISS IN THE ENGINE WHEN YOU PULL UP TO A STOP. SEEMS LIKE A VACCUM LEAK. THE CRUISE DOSEN'T WORK. THE AIR CONDITIONER WORKED, BUT NOW IT DOSEN'T. I THINK IT IS LOW ON FREON. IT HAS A MANIFOLD OR EXHAUST LEAK. MAY BE A FEW MORE PROBLEMS BUT WELL WORTH FIXING.

THIS COULD BE ONE OF THE NICEST HEARSES ON THE STREET WITH A LITTLE WORK. I HATE TO LET IT GO BUT I HAVE 2 AND ONE HAS TO GO.

IF YOU LIVE NEAR COME DRIVE IT AND LOOK IT OVER. TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC AND HAVE HIM LOOK IT OVER.

IF YOU WANT ONE OF THE LAST 3 WAY LOADERS THAT IS A REAL HEAD TURNER THIS IS IT.

PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BID. SALE IS FINAL. THERE IS A NON-REFUNDABLE $500 DEPOSIT REQUIRED AT END OF SALE THROUGH PAYPAL. THANKS

I HAVE BEEN TOLD SEVERAL DIFFERENT WAYS ABOUT THE 3 WAY SUPERIOR. THE 3 WAY MAY HAVE BEEN OUT UNTIL 1984. EITHER WAY THIS IS A NICE LOOKING HEARSE. WITH A SOME WORK THIS WOULD BE A GREAT DRIVER. CAR IS SOLD AS IS.

Cadillac tipped to call flagship something other than LTS

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Cadillac wouldn't be Cadillac without large sedans in its lineup, and while the XTS has had to hold down that end of the fort all on its own, it won't have to for too long. That's because the luxury brand in the General Motors portfolio is preparing to roll out its new LTS, stylistically previewed by the Elmiraj concept pictured above. Only now, the latest thinking is that the upcoming flagship model may not be called LTS at all.
As Automotive News points out, Cadillac's naming scheme is all over the place at the moment. The ATS slotting below the CTS makes sense (alphabetically), but where do the ELR, SRX and especially the Escalade fit into that naming hierarchy? And how would LTS - as the project has been known until now - sit above the XTS?
Fortunately, Cadillac may be on the case, as two of the division's most recent senior appointments seem keen to rationalize the naming scheme. One is Uwe Ellinghaus, who joined Cadillac as chief marketing officer late last year. Speaking of the brand's nomenclature last spring, Ellinghaus was quoted as saying, "We are aware that this is currently a weakness of the Cadillac brand." And his new boss is bound to agree.

How GM's grueling 24-hour test gets the kinks out of its performance cars

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

One of the biggest challenges automakers face when designing a high-performance car is making sure that it is both fast and reliable. For General Motors, any car that might be taken to the track by its owner - like the Corvette, Camaro Z/28 (shown above) and the Cadillac CTS-V, for example - undergoes a rigorous and strenuous 24-hour test by engineers at the Milford Proving Grounds, as pointed out by Car and Driver.
We've posted on this topic in the past - on a video showing the Camaro ZL1 being brutalized, for instance - but this article gives a more in-depth look at what actually happens behind the scenes... including what that poor ZL1 went through. Though the test isn't for 24 hours straight, the cars are pushed as hard as possible by some of GM's best drivers with only the brakes and tires replaced frequently.
We don't want to ruin the fun for you, but it is an interesting article that tells just some of what GM does to develop its sports cars. Check out the full article over at Car and Driver for the rest of the story.

New Cadillac ELR ad more educational, less controversial than 'Poolside'

Mon, Mar 24 2014

Cadillac's first TV commercial for its ELR plug-in hybrid, Poolside, was a smash hit, in that a lot of people saw and talked about it. The 60-second spot didn't say the car was a plug-in, took potshots at the work ethic of all non-Americans and has raked in over a million views on YouTube (you can add one more here). Caddy's new ELR video will get a lot less media attention, but that's exactly the point. Cadillac claims it was happy with the way actor Neil McDonough strutted his way into the controversial ELR discussion. This time around, though, the coupe gets promoted in a more traditional way: with information about the car and what it can do - you know, drive on electricity, capture braking energy into the battery, go further on gas power when needed, those kinds of things – courtesy of GM's executive chief engineer for electrified vehicles, Pam Fletcher. The tone of the video has not been changed because of the Poolside controversy. David Caldwell, manager of Cadillac communications, tells AutoblogGreen that the new video is not destined for TV and is completely different because it's meant for a different audience. "It doesn't have any direct relation to Poolside," he says. "TV advertising is not necessarily the heart of marketing something like the ELR. Notwithstanding the fact that we had a very thought-provoking ad [laughs]." "We definitely have a need to communicate what the ELR is" - Cadillac's David Caldwell The way you reach out to people via the web is different than the mass-media techniques used in spots like Poolside during big TV events (it aired during the Winter Olympics). The two video spots are different because you need to offer different information in different ways, for example having an ELR website as well as an iPad filled with ELR information at the dealership. For Cadillac, TV is "not going to be the predominant methodology," used to sell the ELR, Caldwell said, "the web is closer to what you need to do to reach people. We definitely have a need to communicate what the ELR is. It's not television advertising at all." Caldwell said a handful of other short videos similar to the new one will go live in the near future, showcasing design and powertrain aspects of the car. Keep an eye out for them – just don't look for them on TV. You can watch the new video below.
