1981 CADILLAC COUPE DEVILLE
RARE 1-OPTION CAR
76,204 MILES
NO RESERVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION TODAY IS A 1981 CADILLAC COUPE DEVILLE THAT WAS SPECIAL ORDERED AND DELIVERED NEW ON MAY 23, 1981 IN YORK, PA. THE OWNER WAS A LIFETIME BUICK OWNER THAT DECIDED TO UPGRADE TO A CADILLAC THIS TIME. IT WAS HER ONE AND ONLY CADILLAC. SINCE SHE WAS USED TO A BUICK THE CADILLAC DIDN'T NEED MANY OPTIONS. IN FACT IT HAS 1 OPTION, DOOR EGDE GUARDS. THATS IT. NO TILT OR TELESCOPIC STEERING, CRUISE CONTROL, REAR DEFROSTER OR VINYL TOP. IT EVEN HAS THE 4.1 LITER BUICK V6 ENGINE. THIS WAS A $165.00 CREDIT!!!!! SHE DID HOWEVER CAREFULLY CHOOSE THE COLORS. BEAUTIFUL WAXBERRY YELLOW OVER HEATHER BLUE VELOUR CLOTH INTERIOR. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL COLOR COMBINATION.
THE CAR WAS VERY VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF. ALWAYS GARAGED KEPT AND WAXED RELIGIOUSLY. THE PAINT IS VERY NICE AND THE CHROME AND STAINLESS IS EXCELLENT. THE LIGHT LENS ARE ALL CLEAR AND NOT YELLOWED. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO RUST ON THE CAR. IT WAS RUSTPROOFED NEW FROM THE CADILLAC DEALER. SHOWS VERY WELL WITH VERY MINIMAL PAINT CHIPS. IT DOES HAVE A SCRATCH ON THE PASSENGER QUARTER PANEL AS SEEN IN THE PICTURES. THE FRONT FILLER PANELS WERE REPLACED AND THE DRIVER'S REAR QUARTER EXTENTION WAS REPLACED ALONG WITH THE LICENSE PLATE FILLER PANELS. THE PASSENGER SIDE QUARTER EXTENTION IS ORIGINAL WITH A TINY CRACK STARTED AT THE APEX. ORIGINAL RUBBER SIDE MOLDINGS WERE DISCOLORED AND WERE REPLACED WITH WHITE--NO MATCHING PALE YELLOW WAS AVAILABLE.
THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR IS EQUALLY EXCELLENT WITH ONLY A WEAR THROUGH MARK IN THE PIPING ON THE EDGE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT. AS SEEN IN THE PICTURES. THE ARMRESTS ARE PERFECT AS WELL AS THE DASH BOARD. THE STEERING WHEEL IS ALMOST PERFECT WITH A 1/2 INCH PIECE IF SIMULATED WOOD GRAIN MISSING. EVERYTHING WORKS INCLUDING THE HEAT AND A/C WHICH HAS BEEN CONVERTED TO R143A REFRIGERANT. POWER BENCH SEAT AND WINDOWS/LOCKS OF COURSE ALL WORK CORRECTLY. IT EVEN HAS THE "ASK YOUR SALESPERSON ABOUT THE OPTIONAL GARAGE DOOR OPENER" ADVERTISEMENT IN THE DOME LIGHT. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE OF THOSE STILL IN THE CAR. THE HEADLINER IS NEW WITH REAR SIDE PANELS AND SUNVISORS REUPHOLSTERED ALSO.
THE CAR RUNS GREAT. THE V6 IS NOT AS SMOOTH AND ELEGANT AS A V8, BUT HAS THE SAME HORSEPOWER AS THE V8 DID. THE BRAKES ARE IN GOOD CONDITION AND STOP WITHOUT ANY PULSATION. THE TIRES ARE ALL MATCHING AND IN GOOD CONDITION. NEW PA STATE INSPECTION GOOD UNTIL MAY 2014. THIS CAR RIDES SMOOTH AND NOISE FREE GOING DOWN THE ROAD. NO RATTLES. RIDES LIKE A CLOUD.
THESE ARE THE REPAIRS MADE IN THE LAST 2 YEAR. ABOUT 500 MILES

Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names
Tue, Mar 17 2015Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.
Cadillac shows dealers convertible rendering
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Cadillac is getting serious about revitalizing and expanding its lineup, and to that end, a new report claims that brand boss Johan de Nysschen has been showing plans for several new models to the marque's dealer body - among them, a new convertible.
The droptop which Cadillac reportedly showed its dealers in sketch form, would be based on the same platform as the ATS and CTS, those it's unclear to which (if either) of those model lines the new convertible would be added, or whether the design features a canvas or folding hardtop roof. One way or another, it would be the first time Cadillac would offer a convertible since the Corvette-based XLR roadster was discontinued more than five years ago.
Quoting an unnamed brand spokesperson, Cadillac would "like to introduce an open car to the portfolio at some point," however, "it's not likely to be one of the near-term portfolio additions."
Cadillac toned down ATS Coupe design due to customer feedback [w/poll]
Tue, 02 Sep 2014Automakers always face a difficult decision when it comes to styling their cars. Design them too blandly and nobody will get excited about them. But style them too aggressively and they'll often end up turning off potential buyers.
Cadillac, for its part, is no stranger to aggressive design, but when it came to the new ATS Coupe, it elected to tone things down a bit. Speaking with The Detroit News in a wide-ranging interview, Cadillac design director Bob Boniface revealed that the original design for its compact coupe was edgier - closer to that of the CTS Coupe - with a wedgier profile, a more steeply raked beltline and a more severe grille. But potential customers surveyed in clinics apparently didn't like it. They found it looked heavy, inefficient and not fun to drive. So Boniface and his team literally went back to the drawing board and "took as much visual mass out of the car as [they] could." The resulting coupe, while handsome, looks far more similar to its four-door companion than did Cadillac's CTS.
What do you think, does the new ATS Coupe look just right, or is it too conservative? Voice your opinion in our quick online poll.
