1977 Cadillac Coupe Deville 14,000 Original Miles Original Paint on 2040-cars
Huntington Station, New York, United States
MY NEIGHBOR OWNED THIS CAR UNTIL 5 YRS AGO. I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM HIM AND I PUT ON ABOUT 750 MILES. IT JUST SITS IN A TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED GARAGE (STARTED AND DRIVEN AROUND THE BLOCK A FEW TIMES A MONTH). THIS IS A TRUE TIME CAPSULE. ALL ORIGINAL PAINT (EXCEPT THE REAR FILLERS WHICH WERE REPLACED YEARS AGO). AND 14000 MILES. THIS CAR RIDES, LOOKS, AND STILL SMELLS BRAND NEW,. THE LEATHER IS PERFECT AND LIKE BRAND NEW.VERY RARE TRIPLE YELLOW. THE PICTURES REALLY DO THIS CADDY NO JUSTICE. ALL RUBBERS, BUMPERS HEADLINER ARE LIKE NEW. I CAN GO ON AND ON BUT IT COMES DOWN TO WHO WANTS A BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL LOW MILAGE CADDY, THEY DO NOT COME AROUND TO OFTEN IN THIS COLOR. WHAT A CAR. THE ONLY THING BESIDES THE CLOCK THAT DOES NOT WORK IS THE ANTENNA. I PLAY THE 8 TRACKS AND SOUNDS GREAT.

GM design boss Welburn says Lincoln isn't a Cadillac rival [w/poll]
Thu, 05 Dec 2013General Motors Vice President of Global Design, Ed Welburn, had some dismissive words for a certain cross-town luxury brand during an interview with Car and Driver. When asked about his thoughts on Lincoln, Welburn deflected, before saying, "I don't consider Lincoln to be a competitor for Cadillac."
"They're not a global luxury brand. I don't consider them a competitor. Are they a competitor for Buick? Quite possibly. But not for Cadillac," GM's head designer explained. Welburn, who's been at the helm of GM Design North America since 2003 and is the first to hold the position of VP of Global Design, has been instrumental in the styling renaissance at GM, so predictably, Car and Driver's interview with him focused on the design aspect of cars.
During the interview, Welburn explicitly denied plans for a reborn Cadillac XLR, even as a new Chevrolet Corvette is hitting the market and strides are being made with Cadillac's V-Series performance arm saying, "We have a lot of cars that we're working on for the Cadillac brand. The XLR is not one of them right now."
GM Design shows what could have been and what might be
Thu, May 27 2021We periodically like to check in with GM Design's Instagram account to see what they're cooking up. Even better is when we catch a glimpse of an alternate history of what legendary designers from The General's past were thinking, though those ideas may not have made it into production. This week, for example, the account posted some illustrations from George Camp, whose career at GM spanned nearly four decades, from 1963 to 2001. One of the renderings is of what appears to be a 1971-72 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with two headlights instead of the production unit's quad beams. The rear departs from the canonical version most dramatically, with a massive integrated wing. Other bits that didn't make the production cut include large side vents, a gill-like side marker and rectangular intakes below the headlights that wouldn't be out of place on a modern design today. Amazingly, from what we can make out of the date, it appears that the drawing was done sometime in 1965, which makes it quite prescient. To our eyes it splits the difference between the 1986 Corvette Indy concept and a fourth-generation F-body Pontiac Firebird, so perhaps parts of Camp's work on this sketch did make it into physical form. There's also a radical sports car concept from May 1970 that resembles the Mazda RX-500 concept from the same year, a Syd Mead-looking Cadillac coupe, and an Oldsmobile with a cool take on the company's trademark waterfall grille and elements of the Colonnade Cutlass at the rear. Other recent posts include a FJ Cruiser-like off-road EV, a sleek coupe with the Chevy corporate grille, and a rendering of a Silverado-esque pickup that looks far better than the current production version.
