Vintage, Antique 1976 / Bi-centennial year Cadillac DeVille for Auction!

Very little rust, runs very well! Feels very nice and solid on the road for a vehicle of it's age.  Please note, I am not a collector or restorer, so there are undoubtedly some issues that I am not aware of.  However, the major components are in good working order in my humble opinion.  It shifts well, turns over well (the battery has grown low in charge as it has not been driven enough over the winter) and most of the electronics still work!

Upolstery is in very good shape for it's age! Paint is mostly very good (see a few typical rust spots on my pics)

Issues I noticed:
1) Hood latch does not lock (probably cable is frozen), however hood is so heavy it stays completely shut.

2) Driver door does not lock

3) Steering has the typical play of a GM car from the 70s

Otherwise, this vehicle is more solid than many cars on the road for 5 years or less! Good quality sheet metal!

Don't hesitate to ask me questions.

The car is parked 30 miles from my home.  So, please allow very specific questions at least 24 hrs for an answer. Thanks!

Thanks for looking and have an awesome day!  Spring has finally Sprung!

For anyone curious about gas type, I found this infomation on a forum useful...

"The last year GM and Ford cars were designed for fully leaded fuels was 1972.
The 1973-1975 models were engineered for "Low Lead" fuels.

1976 was the first year of "unleaded" fuel, and most cars then had the
catalytic converters.

Corrections:

I was informed by a knowledgeable person that the official exterior color of this vehicle is called "Harvest" and the interior cloth (which matches the padded roof) is called "Buckskin" and is quite different from Gold.  I apologize if anyone was misled by the color scheme.  Ebay won't let me revise it in the title, so this is the only place I can add the revision.

The other important point made is that the regular unleaded fuel in the 70s had a higher octane level than the "regular" does today.  Therefore, this Cadillac will run better on super unleaded or using at least 91 octane rating.  Thanks for reading!

Season 9 of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee teases us with BMWs and Volvos

Thu, Dec 22 2016

Jerry Seinfeld's successful online show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is heading into its ninth season, returning January 5th. It should be no surprise that the list of actors and comedians is impressive, with Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz, and more making appearances. Seinfeld has lined up an equally impressive list of cars for the new season. Porsche, BMW, and Volvo all have beautiful machines lined up to shuttle Seinfeld and his guest to different coffee shops. As always, it's a mix of light humor packed into a relatively short and, most importantly, free video. Catch up on the previous eight seasons now on Crackle. GM recalls 2014 Cadillac CTS recall

Wed, 02 Jul 2014

No, that headline isn't a typo - General Motors has reportedly issued a recall for one of its own recalls. The recall of a recall affects the recall of the 2014 Cadillac CTS, which wasn't supposed to be recalled. Except that the 2014 CTS was supposed to be recalled. Oh no, now we've gone cross-eyed.
Allow us to explain. The redesigned, third-generation CTS Sedan does not feature a faulty ignition switch, while the 2014 CTS Coupe and Wagon, which are based on the second-gen car, do. And as it turns out, there are only 264 of those vehicles included in last week's 8.2-million-unit, ignition-switch recall. Model year 2003 to 2013 CTS Sedans, Coupes and Wagons are still covered.
It's not entirely clear how this, frankly, colossal mistake was made, although we're betting GM is rapidly trying to get to the bottom of this embarrassing issue. Regardless, let's just take what solace we can in there being one less vehicle that GM has recalled this year.

2018 Cadillac CT6 Drivers' Notes | Super Cruiser

Fri, Dec 1 2017

The 2018 Cadillac CT6 showcases General Motors' impressive Super Cruise feature. It's the next milestone on the way to an autonomous future, though GM is being conservative about promoting Super Cruise's considerable prowess. It helps the driver, GM says. Does it work? Our editors have been testing one this week as the calendar turns and the temperatures drop in Michigan. Also, the CT6 is a really nice car. Here's what we think. Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder: Super Cruise, man. On Wednesday night, I rode home in a 2018 Cadillac CT6 with Super Cruise. I say "rode," but I was sitting in the driver's seat. I spent more time with my hands off the steering wheel than on it. It was super relaxing. Once I got on the highway, I set the cruise control, waited for the steering wheel icon to show up on the instrument cluster, and hit the button on the steering wheel that looked like a steering wheel (pretty meta, to be honest). The top section of the wheel illuminated in a green arc, and I felt the weight of the steering lift as the car began driving itself. I put my feet flat on the floor, rested my hands on my knees, and just watched the road while listening to a podcast ("The Dollop," if you were wondering). To be honest, I had trouble concentrating on the audio, as my thoughts were captivated by the way the car managed the road and traffic around me. Sure, I had to change lanes on my own and take over steering on interchanges and surface streets, but when the AI took the reins, it had my complete confidence. Perhaps just as surprising, the CT6 was also a blast to drive manually. It felt super smooth, with plenty of power and poise. I enjoyed bending it through 50-mph curves almost as much as I enjoyed being driven. Almost. Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore: Super Cruise just works. I was blown away how easy it was to use and how well it just did what it was supposed to do. Merging into the teeth of rush hour traffic in metro Detroit, I braced for the worst. I figured I'd be stuck in bumper-to-bumper gridlock and Super Cruise would never get deployed. Frankly, I was cynical Super Cruise would work. But then I was able to hit the 70-mph speed limit and figured, well, let's just see about this thing. Like John, I did the two-steps to set up SC, and boom, it worked. It trailed the cars in front of me at a proper distance. It braked naturally to a stop and then resumed speed. It slowed down when a Jeep Grand Cherokee cut me off.
