THIS IS A GREAT PROJECT CAR IN NEED OF RESTORATION TO ONCE AGAIN BECOME ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CARS AND LAST FOR ANOTHER 60 YEARS.  A 1964 CADILLAC DEVILLE IN A GOOD CONDITION IN NEED OF GETTING RESTORED.  A NICE RESTORATION WILL MAKE THIS CAR SHINE.  IT IS ALL ORIGINAL AND WELL MAINTAINED FOR AN ALMOST 60 YEARS OLD CAR.  IT HAS ORIGINAL LEATHER SEATS WHICH AT SOME POINT WAS COVERED BY ANOTHER BLUE UPHOLSTERY AND A  BLUE COLOR FLOOR CARPET WITH NO TEARS, BUT IN NEED OF A COMPLETE DETAILING. THE ENGINE STARTS AND RUNS BUT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDS FIXING. THE TRANSMISSION WORKS FINE. IT HAS A NEW REBUILD STARTER. IT HAS ORIGINAL AIR CONDITION, BUT THE AC COMPRESSOR BELT IS NOT ON  THERE ARE MINOR RUSTS.  THE EXTERIOR BODY IS GOOD EXCEPT A VERY SMALL DENT ON THE FRONT RIGHT FENDER. THE INTERIOR NEEDS WORK AND THE RIGHT REAR DOOR PANEL IS LOOSLEY ATTACHED WITH WIRES DISCONNECTED. THE REAR RIGHT WINDOW IS DOWN. THE TRUNK LATCH MECHANISM DOES NOT LATCH THE TRUNK LID IN ORDER TO KEEP IT LOCKED.  THE CHROMES TRIMS, FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS LOOK GOOD.  THE FRONT RIGHT HUBCAP IS INSIDE THE TRUNK AND THE REST ARE ON THE CAR.  THE MILEAGE REFLECTS THE ODOMETER READING AND IT IS AN ESTIMATION. Driving the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V at the old Elkhart Lake road course

The placid community around Elkart Lake, WI, looks about as far removed from a glorious motorsport venue as you can imagine. A turn of the century downtown gives way to old-school resorts, beaches, and boat launches around the picturesque lake, with farms framing the rolling hills all around. But it was those very same meandering country lanes that gave birth to one of America's greatest racing circuits, some 65 years ago. Between the first race in 1950 and the opening of the dedicated Road America track in 1956, the roads around Elkhart Lake provided the setting for some great post-war racing. Competing on public streets was ultimately outlawed across the country, but not before drivers risked life and limb in the name of glory in the Wisconsin summer. Cadillac asked us out to the area recently, not to talk racing history, but to look forward at one of the most track capable cars the company has ever offered: the 2016 CTS-V. We got to drive the 640-horsepower beastie for an entire morning of hot laps at Road America, but unfortunately, we're not allowed to tell you about all of that right now. You'll have to wait until the embargo lifts on August 3, at which point we promise a full recounting of our adventure. Having the CTS-V for a full two days though, and in the spirit of the motorsport that imbues the air in Elkhart Lake, we took the Cadillac on a drive around the old 6.5-mile road course. GM won't really kill off the Chevy Volt and Cadillac CT6, will it?

General Motors is apparently considering killing off six slow-selling models by 2020, according to Reuters. But is that really likely? The news is mentioned in a story where UAW president Dennis Williams notes that slumping US car sales could threaten jobs at low-volume factories. Still, we're skeptical that GM is really serious about killing those cars. Reuters specifically calls out the Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet Sonic, and the Chevrolet Volt. Most of these have been redesigned or refreshed within the past few model years. Four - the LaCrosse, Impala, CT6, and Volt - are built in the Hamtramck factory in Detroit. That plant has made only 35,000 cars this year - down 32 percent from 2016. A typical GM plant builds 200,000-300,000 vehicles a year. Of all the cars Williams listed, killing the XTS, Impala, and Sonic make the most sense. They're older and don't sell particularly well. On the other hand, axing the other three seems like an odd move. It would leave Buick and Cadillac without flagship sedans, at least until the rumored Cadillac CT8 arrives. The CT6 was a big investment for GM and backing out after just a few years would be a huge loss. It also uses GM's latest and best materials and technology, making us even more skeptical. The Volt is a hugely important car for Chevrolet, and supplementing it with a crossover makes more sense than replacing it with one. Offering one model with a range of powertrain variants like the Hyundai Ioniq and Toyota Prius might be another route GM could take. All six of these vehicles are sedans, Yes, crossover sales are booming, but there's still a huge market for cars. Backing away from these would be essentially giving up sales to competitors from around the globe. The UAW might simply be publicly pushing GM to move crossover production to Hamtramck to avoid closing the plant and laying off workers. Sales of passenger cars are down across both GM and the industry. Consolidating production in other plants and closing Hamtramck rather than having a single facility focus on sedans might make more sense from a business perspective. GM is also trying to reduce its unsold inventory, meaning current production may be slowed or halted while current cars move into customer hands. There's a lot of politics that goes into building a car. GM wants to do what makes the most sense from a business perspective, while the UAW doesn't workers to lose their jobs when a factory closes.

Cadillac back on track with 600-hp ATS-V.R racer in FIA GT3 spec [w/video]

There was already a rumor brewing that Cadillac might eschew the CTS as its racecar next season in favor of the ATS Coupe. It turns out that is absolutely the case, and now we know just what this 600-horsepower, future racer looks like. The coupe might not be limited to competing in just the US, though, because it's built to FIA GT3-specifications, meaning that this Caddy is also eligible to race in over 30 series worldwide against the likes of Bentley, McLaren, Audi and other premium brands.
The heart of this massively winged Cadillac is an engine dubbed the LF4.R. It's based around the unit in the production ATS-V and CTS Vsport but with larger turbos, bigger intercoolers, side exhausts and other tricks. Cadillac claims it makes a monstrous 600 hp and 520 pound-feet of torque in unrestricted form.
As the photo above shows, the ATS-V.R also wears an aggressive aero kit with a carbon fiber front splitter, and a wing at the back that could probably double as a picnic table in a pinch. The dry weight of the whole package is quoted at about 2,900 pounds, which is around 700 pounds less than the street version.
